Hotel Montefiore is ideally located in a quiet alley right in the city center. Everything is close or easy to reach with public transportation. The building has recently (2021) been refurbished and the rooms are rather spacious and well equipped for Israeli standards. Breakfast is a real treat. Various vegetable salads, shakshouka, cheeses, fruit, eggs, bread, cake, cereals... even pickled hering! There's sugar free jam, gluten free bread and vegan options (e.g. chickpea omlette). The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Eyal, the manager, immediately takes care of every request and makes sure guests feel welcome and at home. Arriving in the middle of the night because of a delayed flight was no problem. Weak air conditioning in the room was fixed within a day.

The hotel is located in a quite street without traffic, but internal noise is an issue. The doors of the rooms are not exactly soundproof. So any conversation in the corridor will be overheard in the room, not to mention large families with small children running wild in the middle of the night. Next time I'll ask for a room far away from the elevator which can be annoying when in Shabbat mode. Anyway, it's all part of the Israeli experience and I've stayed in worse places for higher prices. WiFi could be a bit stronger and faster.

The breakfasts were great. We enjoyed the variety. My room was nice and quiet. The cleaning service was very good. We loved the location. The front desk manager, Eyal, went out of his way to make us comfortable and to give us any information we needed.

I didn’t like the fact that there is no one at the fest after midnight and that essentially anyone can come in right behind you. Since no one is at the desk you don’t know if they are guests or not.

Great hotel, great location, we were within walking distance of both the old town and the Shuk Mahaneh Yehuda. The room is spacious, fully corresponds to the photo on the hotel page. Our room was on the 6th floor, so we didn't hear any noise from the street. The room is quiet, very clean, with incredibly comfortable bed, the air conditioning system worked very well, there is a tea set (kettle, cups, coffee, tea, sugar, sugar substitute, creamer). The bathroom was also pleasing - powerful water pressure, sufficient number of towels, very high-quality mini cosmetics - now I want to find and buy one for my home. We had a special pleasure from the breakfast - a diverse selection of dishes for every taste, delicious coffee, everything is very tasty and fresh, the employees constantly make sure that everything is available. Thanks to the staff at the reception - they answered to inquiries and questions quickly and professionally. We are very pleased that we've chosen this hotel for our trip to Jerusalem, without a doubt we will stay again.

The reception are very welcoming and ready to help. They stored my luggage prior to my arrival and the payment was easy to do it online as many travelers like I had some issues with my canadian credit card, online it worked perfectly. Firas was amazing like always.

The buffet breakfast is the best in Jerusalem, tasty and so fresh. The room cleaner ladies were all very prompt to give you fresh cleaned towels. Natalia does a great job with keeping clean standards at 5 stars.

The hotel is not a luxury hotel but it is really comfortable, clean, close to almost everything, and they have a great breakfast.

I like most of the things. If I need to suggest something I probably will say that the people that work as a receptionist needs to have a little bit more of enthusiasm, greet the tourist with a smile, say good morning, or good afternoon, not only when we greet them but before that. They need to be more attentive to those small details. I feel like they are there just to do the work but it is not something they like to do. In contrast, the person who was doing the cleaning in my floor ( a man), I forgot his name, he was very happy, greet us every morning with a smile and always asked with his poor English, how was your day?, are you having fun?, etc. He was happy and make us to feel great.

Very comfortable bed in a budget hotel that is ideally situated in the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Surroundings not too noisy considering the central location. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling on a budget.

Breakfast wasn’t great compared to what is available in more upmarket hotels in Jerusalem. Hot food was cold. Limited choice. But not all bad. You are really paying for the room and the central location. You’re not paying big money. And there’s a trendy cafe right across the road with a wide choice of drinks, sandwiches and cakes where you can sit outside.

The stay at Montefiori Hotel made my stay in Jerusalem and Israel exceptional. Everything was absolutely great about this hotel - the tasty and generous Israeli breakfast, the location near lively Ben Yehuda Street and the quiet Rehavia district, the public transport links in its proximity, as well as the comfort, size and cleanliness of our room. After the busy days of exploring the city, it was such a pleasure to be able to rest in our comfy and quiet room, recharging our batteries by watching the TV with the built-in You Tube Channel, or taking a nap. The hotel staff was amicable and attentive and the manager of the hotel, Mr Firas, went out of his way to make our stay as memorable and comfortable as possible, helping us with arranging the trips to the Old City and transport to the airport. He also provided us, in a very courteous and comprehensive manner, with any advice or information we might have needed. Also, he took care of allocating us a room on the first floor with a large bathroom with a shower unit, which more than adequately met my disability needs (I have mobility issues and walk with the help of a walking stick). This was particularly helpful during the Shabbat when the lift service was limited. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the hotel, and would definitely book it in the future.
