Breakfast was good. Paid for Breakfast and dinner. Dinner wasn't great at the buffet but first 2 days I got lucky and was served dinner from the restaurant which was really good. Room was massive and plenty of space for my 3 children. Lady at the reception was very friendly.

If you are planning to pray all your Salaah at Masjid Al aqsa? Be ready for a big walk. With kids about 20 minutes max.

Location is veey good, 10 mins walk from herods gate, we had a car for couple of days & the free parking is very much appreciated in Jerusalem, i would say the location is very good as just outside of the old town but then this gives you access to taxi & shuttle drop of right outside the hotel door, we had a disabled buggy picking my elderly mom & dad to take them to alaqsa mosque for all the prayers & this was very convenient. rooms are good size & comfortable, we wer a family of 4 & had 2 standard twin rooms, we initially booked for 3 nights but then ended up staying a total 6 nights. Staff are very friendly & helpful, they also can arrange tours & pickup which is very reasonable priced. Tried the buffet dinner 1 of the days not to my taste buds, but an excellent restaurant on the 4th floor serving up anyting your taste buds fancy. Would I stay again YES. The gym is also another plus point my brother used it everyday. Breakfast is a good selection & nice view.

The address on Google maps is some 30/40 kilometers away from this hotel. Just be careful don't wen navigating by car.

So much to say, the first thing that stands out is the staff, the exceptional service and going out of their way to make your stay comfortable, the patience and always helping and willing to advice where needed. Meals - exceptional value for what you spend, esp for me when you come from another country and see them try and cater for different taste, and the variety. Just Amazing All round

1. Not so much about the hotel, but i think an additional service that would create more value, is if they check if guest would be using the shuttle, then maybe send them a quick map so they know how to find the way, Note the hotels fault, but due to road works, shuttle/bus stop was change, which made finding the hotel different (not difficult, as the Palestinian people in the area are so helpful) 2. Maybe some maps for patrons, for the old city, but catered for the different religious interest

This is the second time we have stayed in the National Hotel. We wanted to return after an excellent stay on our first trip. The breakfast is one of the best with a huge selection being offered, and it is served from early till 10am which is really flexible compared to other hotels. Also there is a lovely view from the balcony of the restaurant. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and working perfectly including the air con. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily. We especially appreciated that the hotel manager, Laith, himself was checking everyday with the hotel guests at breakfast that they were having a pleasant stay and there weren't any issues. This shows that the staff really care. One night we had a noise coming into our room from the kitchen and Laith and the staff quickly sorted that out for us and made sure it didn't happen again. Thank you Laith!

A fantastic top floor restaurant from which breakfast buffet and a la carte dinners are served. There are lovely views towards the mount of olives and an option of outdoor smoking space if wanted plus breezes in the summer. The range of food at breakfast and buffet suppers was great - very fresh and served in a lovely atmosphere by friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable for 2 people and cleaned on a regular basis. Wifi was good and, as someone who usually enjoys regular running, it was great to have a gym as a place to work out. Staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and happy to suggest budget options for tours, transport etc. Location-wise it is well placed for exploration of the old city by foot (about 10 minutes walk to Damascus gate) and for people who like a drink in the evening we found 3 hotels or restaurants selling beer or wine (at a price!!) within easy walking distance. We took up the option of a day trip to the Dead Sea and Masada and it proved both good value and very interesting - the driver being very knowledgeable about the history and politics of the region and happy to give us as long as we wanted at each stopping place.

The Location to Harrods Gate was 5 mins walk, The Staff in the hotel were all lovely especially the restaurant staff & the evening reception man, very welcoming & charming, I asked for a change of mattress as it was uncomfortable & a fridge putting in our room, on the first day it was done before we returned for the evening, nothing was to much trouble for them, we felt very welcome.

The hotel looks a little tired in places.

The room was great spacious clean the breakfast was excellent a good selection every day and we stayed for four days the location is amazing you can walk to the old town in less than 10minutes and it really is ace walking round steeped in History. Back to the hotel great little area that sells a really nice coffee in the lobby and just about anything else you will need, reception staff friendly and helpful we booked a trip and had to print off confirmation they did this no problem I would definately recommend this hotel also for Israel good price ! Only had one issue wanted to sit on the Breakfast terrace outside but there were people smoking outside in the morning on the terrace so had to sit inside !

Location was great. The hotel was meticulously clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The service in the restaurant was top notch. I really can't say enough good thing about this hotel. Between two different reservations I made, we stayed five nights I think. I wanted to stay another couple of nights but they were fully booked. We hated to leave, but ended up at place around the corner that was NO WHERE near as nice as our stay at the National Hotel Jerusalem!

I can't really think of anything that I didn't like. Oh, except there were no washcloths in the bathroom but I understand that is strictly an American thing, and I should have brought my own! haha
