The location is just perfect. Close to the train station and close to the Duomo. The staff is so friendly and they are 24h open. As it is in the centre, you have everything you need around, good restaurants, ostetie, trattorie... It is calm so there was absolutely no problem sleeping, it is not in a crowded street.

Not really important but not every day we got shower gel/shampoo and breakfast is a croissant and a milk bread with Nutella and jam, a glass of orange juice and coffe from an electric machine. We missed some fruit or a couple of pieces of cheese/salame. It is fine but don't expect the breakfast of your life.

Fantastic location. Very close to restaurants, main sight seeing spots and train station, bus station etc. All walking distance. The staff were very helpful and there is a little convenience store downstairs that sells adapters etc for only 1 euro if you need any ! :) The room was small and basic, but it was all I needed and very good value for money. I had the breakfast one morning, as the other mornings I was away earlier than breakfast starting and again, it was basic but very good to get something to start your day. Beautiful cups of tea and toast and mini croissants. Lovely stay Allround :)

the staff were amazing! So welcoming and friendly, provided us with a little map when we arrived, and pointed out the tourist spots, the location was perfect, less than 10 minute walk to duomo, and centrale market, and a great little street over the road full of shops, restaurants, pubs the breakfast was great, English breakfast tea, coffee, croissant, bread rolls, jam butter and juice the rooms where pretty basic, old style and a very small bathroom, but honestly nothing to complain about, the building itself was very historic, with big old wooden doors to enter, also was around 9 minutes walk from train station to hotel, and 3 minute walk to tram stop to head back to airport (1 euro 50 each)

Location is the best benefit here, it is around the corner to the Duomo and all other attractions. The owner was very nice, helpfull and funny guy :) Breakfast was simple (croisant, pastry, nutella, butter, jam and machine coffee and orange juice)

It is old accomodation so do not expect everything 100% functional and clean. We stay 2 nights, for the price is was good deal. The only bad thing was the noise :( if you can not sleep well and need all quiet up, choose another hotel. There is lot of noise from the street and also from the reception (loud ringing bell) maybe the rooms that are not facing the street are a bit quiter, but still you get the noise from the reception and guest in the lobby.

Location was EXCELLENT - central market around one corner and cathedral round the other Breakfast included - a bonus if need a quick morning snack...better options eating out. But good they include something Room was basic but did have air con Shower in the room was a great addition I wasn't expecting Man on reception friendly and helpful Great accommodation for the price of others in Florence

Internet wasn't working but turned out to be a fault that needed to be reported and not an issue with the hotel. Once provider fixed the fault, internet was fine Night person does listen to tv quite loud - ear plugs resolved that thou

I very much enjoyed my stay - and I don't know why it's only a one star hotel. The staff were very friendly, the price was good and the location couldn't be much better - very close to the station and the sights. The breakfast was fine (not a buffet but plenty to get you going for the day), the room and bathroom were large enough and clean, and the beds comfortable. This will definitely be the first place I look if I come back to Firenze. It's in a fascinating old building and going in through the huge wooden doors is quite an experience. We never had to wait to be "buzzed in" though I suppose if the person at reception is away from the desk there might be a short delay. But they can't be far from the desk because the hotel isn't very big.

If you wanted to spend a lot of time in the room you'd probably want something with bigger rooms (and a TV in a more convenient location than ours was) but that wasn't why I was there. The narrow spiral staircase to the upper floor would be a problem for some people, particularly with luggage. Having the room keys hung up in the lobby doesn't seem particularly secure.

Very nice hotel in a nice historical building. The location is beyond great - you go right into Cappelle Medicee from hotel's doors. Five minutes walk to Santa Maria delle Fiore, five minutes walk to Santa Maria Nouvella railway station. Superb. The host was very friendly and helpful and very flexible! The price is rather affordable for such a great place, and they have nice breakfasts. The building is old, which gives additional charms, but if you prefer hotels with all items brand new in the room, that's not your choice, all items here seem to have a history. The hotel overall is clean and neat

There's a rather strong smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors despite the non-smoking policy, so if you're allergic to smoke, it may be a problem. However, the rooms and facilities don't have that smell

Wonderful stay, right in the centre 10 minutes walk from most attractions! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the room was perfect for a short stay where you're just sleeping and busy out all day! Also had breakfast included, this was a selection of breads, orange juice, and coffee machine available. Would definitely recommend and stay again, Florence was stunning!

Probably just us, but we got a bit lost on the way! Google maps stopped on the corner, so have a look around for the big brown door rather than a sign! Also once you are let in, just keep walking up the stairs and you'll see the hotel name!

It exceeded our expectation, it’s better in person than in pictures.

You have to leave the keys at the reception every time you go out the hotel.

Lovely welcome. Didn't find the hotel entrance hard to find at all. Just ring the Hotel Aldobrandini bell to the right of the huge palacial door, they buzz it open, the gate at the end of the hall is also open for enough time to get through with your luggage, get in the lift, first floor hotel is clearly labelled (we quickly learned that the first floor in Italian palaces is quite a climb so taking the lift isn't so lazy after all), out the lift, turn right, up one short flight and you're at the hotel door. We didn't understand why some people say it's hard to find. And we never had to wait to be buzzed in throughout our 5 night stay. Ignacio the owner had arranged for us to stay on a lower floor so we didn't have to climb the short spiral staircase although unless you have very heavy bags that's not a problem. We were just going by other reviews when we requested the lower floor room (which was quite big). The room was clean and very basic with comfortable beds; we could see the top of the Giotto bell tower from our window. At these prices we never expected luxury but fresh towels every day was a nice touch. More coat hangers than we have had in other budget stays. Bathroom very tired but fully functional. What makes up for the basic room, lack of soundproofing (solved with ear plugs) and low-cost breakfast were of course the fantastically low price of our stay (about €200 cheaper than the next best option at the time of booking), the continuous hot water, the lovely coffee from a machine in the breakfast room, the daily room clean and the wonderful staff and owner. We were also over the underground garage but that didn't wake us up at all. We did have the medieval bell tower for an alarm, though! Budget hotels are struggling with the current energy prices so do Ignacio a favour and turn off the lights when you go out for the day. Everything - even Pitti Palace - is in easy walking distance. A fantastic city with a fantastic host.

Mosquitoes. But we left the windows open in late September.
