August 2024

For our second visit to Florence, we chose this charming B&B, just 5 minutes walking from the city centre. If Florence is the city of renaissance, our welcoming stay was a true piece of art. We visited in August with two teenagers and a three year old. Welcomed like true guests of the family in this historic townhouse with lots of character, we were in awe of the atmosphere in this accomodation, adorned with beautiful fresco’s. Our suite with its own terrace is exeptionnaly large and has all the facilities you might need for a citytrip. We could even use the kitchen as it was our own. We had our breakfasts on the lovely terrace of our room. Most of the breakfast was family-made with vegetable pies, juices, croissants and even cakes. All served with love and care. Other advantages: - You feel like a true Florentine when you enter the appartement, like you live there. - The host helped us find a lot of lovely restaurants and interesting spots in the city. She even gave us a map. - Although in the middle of the city, there was no noice whatsoever, we couldn’t here anything. - Airconditioning works perfectly and house keeping is perfect. - Hospitality was amazing - Large rooms with good WiFi Hard to find a truely welcoming place these days, but we’ve found a gem in the middle of Florence and will surely come back here, hoping nothing has changed.

This beautiful, interesting, and historic lodging was ideal for our stay in Florence. The location was excellent and everything was an easy walk from there. Marina, the hostess, was helpful and cheerful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was amazing and she went out of her way to accommodate our vegan diet. She had an impressive list of restaurant recommendations and we ate at 4 of them, all of which were superb. It was a perfect stay and we were very happy we chose this location for our stay.

Location is excellent - far enough from the crowded tourist zones to be quiet, but also a very quick walk to get to sightseeing. Near good restaurants and some nightlife. The rooms were gorgeous; being from the United States it was incredible to be in a room with a fresco in it. Was the perfect Florence experience. We stayed in the Double Room with Terrace Affreschi and loved being able to finish our morning coffee out on the terrace. The property is gorgeous and well restored. Martina and her brother Mirko, were so helpful and kind in getting us checked in and helping throughout our stay. They were always quickly accessible via WhatsApp. The breakfast was AMAZING and made by their mother, who is an excellent cook. I read some reviews that said the location was hard to find, but it was not. Just pay attention to the addresses around and look for the small gold plaque by the door.

Nothing! We would stay here again in a heartbeat on another trip to Florence.

This is a family run business with an interesting history to the house. I had stayed in a nice hotel upon first arriving in Florence, but for my return after being in another part of Tuscany for a week I was looking forward to a small BnB. Martina met me at the door and showed me upstairs where she and her family have remodeled the second floor into 4 lovely rooms with their own bathrooms. The kitchen has an amazing old 14th century fresco on the wall that was discovered under old plaster when they were remodeling. Family members take turns coming in the morning to lay out a lovely presentation of home baked goods and to make your espresso/ cappuccino for you. The location is just steps from the Boboli Gardens and an easy walk to Ponte Vecchio. There’s a wine and cheese tasting bar across the little street, and numerous restaurants, church squares, and shops in the surrounding neighborhoods.

There was nothing not to like, altho the one steep flight of stairs might be a problem for those who have trouble with stairs. Martina graciously carried my suitcase for me, as I am a senior traveler and I was very grateful she did.

Our room had original 14th century frescoes is our room! The B&B is very well placed in the Oltrano district of Florence, with the advantage of being more quiet compared to the historic district. Jacopo, Niccolo' and Martina were great hosts ensuring our stay was comfortable and pleasant, providing great restaurant recommendations, and of course the excellent buffet breakfast each morning. Our room was well equipped with good wifi, USB outlets in the plugs to charge our phones/cameras, and comfortable beds. We had plenty of space in the double room for 3 people.

Everything was great. Very clean, very comfortable, quiet. Use of a large fridge. Martina could not have been more helpful or friendly. Good wine/craft beer/wine tasting/cookery class directly opposite. Trattoria next door to that. Small shop nearby. No 36 & 37 bus to train station stops 30 metres on the opposite side of the road, €1.70. Takes about 15 minutes. You can walk in about 20 mins. Opposite entrance to Boboli Gardens & very near Pitti Palace. Easy to walk to Ponte Vecchio and over the river to the busier area. Would definitely recommend.

Everything about this place is exceptional! Extraordinary design of this recently refurbished apartment in the medieval building, featuring original 14th century frescos (!), modern facilities (wonderful bed, great shower!, AC/heating), quiet inner courtyard windows with private terrace, stylish, vintage pieces of furniture tastefully combined with modern lighting and hardwood flooring, scented interiors. Place is family run, everyone super friendly and Martina speaks excellent English and gives wonderful tips regarding bars and restaurants. Breakfast is fresh and delicious every morning, served both for Italian and northern European taste (especially yummy pies and cakes prepared by auntie) with the selection that makes it hard to decide what to have :) Location was great for us as a short walk from the old town but a bit away from the touristy crowds. Lots of vibrant nightlife on our doorstep and breathtaking Boboli Gardens for the morning walks. We shall be back:)

This place far exceeded our expectations. Communication with Martina prior to arrival was fantastic. We were greeted so warmly by Martina she just couldn't do enough for us. She provided us with a map and lots of information and recommendations all of which proved to be fantastic. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, Martina and her family have thought of everything. The beds were super comfortable, the showers lovely and powerful, the whole place is absolutely spotlessly clean. Maybe just us being a little silly but we thought the fresco were decorative touches added on for decoration of the hotel. This is not the case, they're original but I'll let Martina tell you all about them. The location is perfect for us, just out of the tourist area but still within easy reach of everything on foot. Breakfast: now here I'd like to make a special mention to Martinas mum, Marcia (sorry if spelt wrong) we didn't actually meet her as I'm sure she must have been far too busy at home cooking up some amazing treats for us to eat at breakfast. Wow, you are so talented and we absolutley loved our homemade breakfast treats especially the salami and pumpkin quiche and layered apple cake. The breakfast was delicious. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and really set us up for our days exploring this beautiful city. So finally if you want to stay in an amazing little family run bnb with luxurious touches within easy reach of everything but not in the centre of the hustle and bustle this place is for you. Martina we can't thank you enough for making us feel so welcome and making sure we had an amazing time in Florence. We look forward to returning to you and your amazing place.

Everything was perfect!

The guesthouse is very close to the Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio, an ideal base for touring in the city centre. We could return and rest in the room easily. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the breakfast was fresh and tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Florence, it is a unique and comfortable guesthouse, much more character and atomosphere than larger hotels. There is car parking nearby in Garages which is very accessible.

everything was perfect for us.

Our expectations were blown away by San Pier Novello! The location was great because it was far away enough from the busy city area but still close enough to walk to restaurants, bars, attractions, etc and didn't need a car for our plans. The hosts were so nice, welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was phenomenal and fresh every morning with delicious cappuccinos. We loved the history of the building and the frescoes. Big bonus that the Boboli Gardens are across the street which was our favorite part of the trip! Everything about our stay was perfect, highly recommend staying here!
