Great location, very good accommodation. Breakfast could be somehow more variate.

Overall everything was very good to excellent, with the exception of gentleman serving in the bar; service very slow, I could understand this as he was alone, what I cannot understand nor accept was his attitude - he was already very nervous because he looked overloaded. When I asked if there is a table service or self service at the bar (because I was waiting since some time) he started complain that: he is alone, he has a lot of orders that take time, therefore I must wait, concluding with the question: "what is your problem, sir ?"; I think he had a problem, but preferred to leave without further discussions.

My wife and me had stayed at this hotel before already and we said, that if we should return to Genova our first choice would be this place again. We were not disappointed. The very central location is perfect, the historic building with the most phantastic staircase is full of charm. The room was comfortable and quiet and it was always cleaned very early, sometimes while we had breakfast. All the staff was very friendly. There is a good choice of items at breakfast and in the restaurant we had an excellent dinner with Ligurian specialities and impeccable service. For us this hotel alone is worth a trip to Genova.

Nothing.

Great location, clean and comfortable. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself and its neighbourhood is comprised of relatively old and historical buildings that gives you a special vintage like feeling!

The room service staff start servicing the rooms quite early! The breakfast is open until 10:30 but once we had room service coming in at around 9, once at around 10:30 when we just got back from having our breakfast, and the last one came at around 9 again without even knocking on the door and while we were changing our clothes. The room servicing staff basically don’t understand or speak even a basic English (numbers etc.)

Great location, easy to reach from all the main railway stations with local buses stopping near the hotel. Good breakfast selection with attentive waiting staff. Impressive building (yes, remember to mention the staircase!) undergoing some renovations but these are well separated from the guest areas. Nice human touches throughout like a doorman to greet you. Would stay again.

Decor is slightly tired but there's clearly work going on to fix this. Annoying issue where the retro-fitted show controls pull towards you in a slightly cramped space so get knocked easily but if I'm having to nit-pick like this it should give the impression that overall it's a great place to stay.

The staff was professional and helpful, especially our kind doorman who carried our bags through the crowds (due to fun Focaccia Festival street blockage) to help us find a taxi a block away! The restaurant was lovely and delicious for our evening dinner. Our room was spacious and charming. I wish we could have paid more for a better view! The bar/lounge felt glamorous, but welcoming and comfortable. We enjoyed drinks 2 nights. Best of all I adored the elliptical staircase! It was as impressive as I had hoped from the photos. I love knowing that Alfred Hitchcock was once a guest and was inspired by these dramatic stairs, when he later did the movie "Vertigo"! The location was also fabulous. We walked everywhere! The Piazza Ferarri is close enough to sneak over for early morning and nighttime (tourist free) photos! We had a great stay!

I wish the Terrace part of the restaurant had been open. In April, I guess the weather is still too unpredictable. That would have been a nice to have enjoyed the view.

The best loacation just right in the center next to the main square. The hotel itself - beautiful and stylish lobby with awsome stairs. Super comfy and extra large bed, really good airconditioning. Everything was clean and really tide every day. But the most wondefull were hotel staff, really kind, helpfull and they welcome our four-leg friend (dog) with great pleasure and so much love.

Some parts of rooms and generaly equipment could have some update, the bathroom and shower was little bit small. The breakfast was nice and tasty, but we would appreciate more fresh veggies and seasonal or local groceries.

Everything! I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Truly 5 star. The amazing staircase is just the beginning. The rooms are large and beds are comfy. They even provide robes and slippers. The shower was large with great pressure and plenty of hot water. The toiletries they provide are top notch, including hair conditioner, which most places don’t offer. It’s in a great location by shops and restaurants. They even leave candy on your pillowcase. I highly recommend! Here’s a video link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpdHp_sgz5E/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Centrally located, the hotel is a haven of peace after walking around a sweltering city in August. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly whilst all public areas were spotless, including the immaculate central staircase. It was a delight to stay here.

One minor point, but one worthy of feedback. I used small items such as soaps or shampo in the room which had been provided but each morning, these had been removed and replaced, despite us staying for three nights. It may seem small but if this is repeated in each room, the environmental cost is large, unnecessary and wasteful.

A hidden gem in the middle of Genova. Not only are the aesthetics fantastic (stairwell in particular), but the service and attention to detail are outstanding. There is a bar and a rooftop (and indoor) restaurant. The food is excellent. If you are traveling and want royal treatment, you have found your stop.

We were on the top floor and it it was quite warm, but given the outside temperature and height of the ceilings, we were just fine. This would definitely not deter me from returning.

4 days in this hotel saved me from the awful July’22 heatwave - the AC functioned superbly and was located optimally so it did not blast directly onto you; combined with the crisp, lightweight 100% cotton bedding - ( including plastic-free mattress covers !!!!! ) , a room of generous proportions furnished with period furniture, comfortable mattresses, a marble bathroom, excellent wifi, pet-friendly management and great breakfast, means I will return! Excellent central location, great value for money.

Its a historic building and an old grand hotel so the elevators are not modern or fast - a small thing and a reason to enjoy the spectacular grand staircase!
