We cannot speak highly enough about our experience at Dimora Historica Muratore. Even before we arrived, Milena was so helpful in giving us information and even arranging cars for side trips from Lecce. The facility is amazing. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and perfectly appointed. We had breakfast each morning on our private patio. The food was delicious. We were also able to enjoy an exquisite meal prepared by Sra. Muratore in their private dining room. The location of the property is so convenient to the historic town of Lecce. We are already looking forward to another visit at this amazing inn.

Nothing could have been better!

Great location in a quiet area, few steps away from the city center. The room was excellent, the space well designed, ensuring a very comfortable stay. Rich breakfast proposing salty and sweet delicacies. The staff was really helpful and kind. Milena organised our stay in the best way possible and gave us highly valuable suggestions, tips and advice about what to visit and where to eat. On top of all this, our dog was very much welcome and treated like a king. Truly amazing experience!

This place is a revelation and it deserves the first 10 I've ever given in a review. The location just inside Lecce old city perimeter is superb making an easy walk to all the sights, restaurants, cafe's etc. whilst also being less than a 10 minute walk to a nearby car park; useful if you're renting a car for a few days. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the generous hospitality, the cleanliness, comfort and styling of this amazing classic villa with 4 rooms on the ground floor. Breakfast was filling with a great choice and it could be taken either in the ground floor dining area or just outside your own room which we opted for on the warmer days. There was a very warm welcome which sustained throughout our stay with helpful advice and tips to make our plans all the more enjoyable. We slept well as very peaceful at night despite being an easy walk to busier areas for food, drink etc. The beaches along the Adriatic coast are an easy reach by car or bus. Daytrips very worthwhile for Matera and for Alberobello/Ostuni. We also enjoyed sunny times relaxing in the grounds and beside the pool.

No suggestions. The weather is outwith anyones control and it was unusually cool and wet during part of our stay.

Dimora Storica Muratore is Italian for historic mansion house. That is exactly what it is. Owner & wife live on the upper levels. A fantastic place. Staff was wonderful, the place well-appointed and a great location. Not only in relation to old town Lecce, but as a base for visiting the heel area. Everything is an easy distance from Lecce. They also have a pool, which is a bonus after the miles of walking one puts in. We drove, so hindsight being 20/20, we would have parked first in the paid lot in Via Adua (right across the street) and walked to the entrance (around back) on Via Luigi Scarembone. Especially, if you don't have much luggage. Way easier than navigating the narrow street.

This is a grand private home with the lower floor devoted to lodging. The property is beautifully planted and there’s a small pool. It’s well located for taking your own walking tour of old Lecce. Your host, Milena, is always smiling and really wants to help you with whatever you need. Staff is friendly. If you wish, you can park directly behind the B&B in a secure lot for 10(?) euros per night. Breakfast is typical and good. LIKED: Perfect location on the edge of the old town so convenient for touring Lecce, but not in the midst of noisy activities. Also, our room had a back door opening onto a secluded section of the garden. Having parking directly behind the B&B was the most convenient “off-site” parking we’ve ever encountered in Italy.

We enjoyed everything.

We loved everything: The clean, comfortable and spacious room, the amazing pool which was so welcome in the heat, the breakfast consisting of local Lecce specialties and served at our private terrace, and the amazing trees and plants surrounding this villa. This is a special place that we were sad to leave after our 6-night stay. Thanks to Milena and Stefanie for treating us so well!

There is nothing we didn’t like (except saying goodbye to this oasis!).

Milena answered any questions prior to our stay quickly and accurately. Her warmth and helpfulness throughout our stay was wonderful. In the mornings Stefanis who prepared breakfast and cleaned our room each morning always had a wonderful and welcoming smile. We were made to feel completely at home. Regarding the property, it is at the boundary of this wonderful old enchanting city, so easy walking distance to so many wonderful places and restaurants. The icing on the cake is that this property also has a tranquil garden that is perfect for just lounging in and relaxing after spending your time travelling around the area and city. My wife and I always say that we will not visit anywhere twice as there are still so many places in the world to see. This will be the exception

Leaving after 4 days

An excellent location right in the old town. Very friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast which varied daily and we could have privately outside our room on sunny mornings. Gardens and small pool for guests to enjoy.

No parking at the property made arrival difficult. There is nearby parking but it is quite expensive. Shower floor dangerously slippery. The rooms are all next to the general reception area and breakfast room which makes for a noisy early start each day.

Stunning building with private pool and gardens attached to the old wall surrounding Lecce. Fabulous location.. very peaceful and tranquil. Our suite was large and airy with a lovely ensuite with fluffy towels ..The breakfast was served on a private patio amongst the foliage and flowers outside our room . Melena was very helpful and a good hostess. Melana got us a super taxi driver Thomas to collect us from airport. .. we felt very welcome and comfortable. .. only 4 guest suites.. Totally private.

A little trouble with the air con.. probably my fault... also ypu could hear early morning noise from.the lobby as breakfast being set up Did notbbother us as we are early risers

I don’t know where to start: realizing that anyone that reads this recommendation is probably going to book instantly, and they should, absolutely sure; there is no place like this in Lecce imho, and it’s there for anyone to experience and enjoy, share the same idea to just never wanting to leave. And then find themselves in the same mental spot as I Finn’s myself in when writing this.: how does one share Paradise, true Paradise, location, sublime facilities, incredibly unique with the most amazing wonderful people hosting and complete this divine experience , and by sharing not just spoil it for everybody including oneself :-) ? to the reader of this message, I sincerely request to go and find out everything is exactly what I experienced ,enjoy really enjoy, and then recommend it tpeople that you know will recognize this splendor for its uniqueness and enjoy and respect this incredible place as I’m sure we will all do
