Location was amazing. Matera is the most amazing city in Puglia and this place is right in the heart of it. Matera is unique, unlike anywhere else we'd ever been and exceeded our expectations. Despite language barriers, staff were very friendly. Sleeping in a cave was also a unique experience.

I probably didn't read the detail in the correspondence re parking, but trying to find the accommodation and the park and ride shuttle in 40 degrees of heat was a stressful experience.

Amazing location and spectacular view. Staff was very nice and helpful both with a late check-in and parking. Breakfast was varied and abundant. The room was very big and typical of the location's cave homes. Really enjoyed the warm towels in the bathroom and the shower pressure 😊.

The heater and the dehumidifier in the room were too loud and too hot. We didn't know how to turn down the heater and considering it was late, didn't want to disturb the staff. So we had trouble sleeping. Since we were up, we wanted to prepare some coffee in the fully furnished kitchen, but the igniter on the stove top didn't work. So we waited for the restaurant to open to have some coffee. .

Location close to upper edge of Sassi and there was a nice view part of the Sasso Briseno, including the Duomo. Unusual room configurations within caves may be attractive for some. Befs wete comfortable and rooms have small kitchens. The owner Vicenzo was very helpful, although he does not speak English. He picked us up frim the bus stop and brought us closer to the property than a taxi would, he arranged for a van to drive 4 of us and luggage to Bari Airport, and he printed boarding passes for us.

Even though it is close to the edge of the Sassi, there is walking on steps and eneven surfaces required to get to it. Some may not like the room configurations, definitely not standardized.

The view of Matera from the terrace just below the hotel was spectacular! The lady managing the breakfast was very professional, pleasant & kind. Staying in a cave room was a once in a lifetime experience. Very nice!

The man who manages the hotel was extremely gruff with his workers screaming at them in front of us! A terrible way to managing his people and very hard for us to watch. He also conducted a phone call while we were waiting at the desk to check in, screaming for 10 minutes. He was quite gruff with us also. Not a welcoming host but a guy on a power trip.

Beautiful location that was worth all the steps. The room was really unique. Spacious also. Highly recommend this place. Enjoyed dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was quite good.

Breakfast started at 8 am which is late for us but with the stove in the room it was possible to have coffee in the room- so it worked out well.

Cozy appartement with great location in Matera. Unique cave walls. Big room with kitchen. Old town with paths and best view in terrace. Great bathroom with bath and all needed equipment.

Breakfast included only sweet cakes and yoghurt with fruit salad. No proteins( eggs, meat, cheese).

It was in a beautiful location. There is a stunning view of Matera from the front of the property. We eat at the restaurant and the food was exceptional! The staff was professional and friendly at the same time. The owner collect us from the car park. My husband and I fell in love with the view and the beautiful Matera.

There is nothing that we didn’t like.

Beautiful location, great ambience, very good bathroom facilities, very friendly staff (and dog!), Maria was happy to cook eggs and ham every morning in addition to the excellent continental breakfast. Our superior studio had enormous character, as well as a big bath and shower. AND IT'S IN A CAVE!!!

Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open in the evenings due to staff being affected by Covid so we were unable to eat in the restaurant in the evenings.

A unique stay. The owner was very accommodating and made sure we had what we needed. Also helped with transport when the cab I hailed cancelled on me.

The parking is very far from the hotel so it would be better if u park at a closer location. It's a cave room so it gets a little bit more humidity than the outside.
