This was the second time we stayed at the hotel. We booked again the large suite which is beautiful decorated. Enormous bath in the room. Nice outdoor seating area. Right in the middle of the sassi. Nice little restaurant with good food downstairs.

I remember from the last time that the breakfast was fabulous. This time it was ok, was expecting a bit more. The wellness was closed. You can park your car in a garage nearby and take a shuttle, well organised but it will add another 80 euros for 2 nights which were already expensive.

Great location in the Sassi. The room we booked was basically a cave with high quality finish internally with modern glass and ceramics - stunning. We believe only one of the rooms is like this. Outside semi-private terrace with great views of the Sassi for evening drinks and breakfast.

Breakfast selection was poor, no hot food and barely enough for the guests. No bread at all on our first day, as a couple we never managed to even get a whole croissant each, had to share. Ate cornflakes from a teacup as no cereal bowls in property. Breakfast is seriously lacking.

Situation, size and equipment of the room and view on Matera

May I suggest to inform the customer at booking, that there is no direct access to the hotel and that a bus/taxi is needed after parking the car. It is very easy but as we visit Matera for the first time, still need to find the parking, wait for the bus, find the hotel in the city etc. We arrived on a Sunday and I received several requests to provide my arrival time which is not easy when travelling in an unknown area. I would also suggest to greet the customer with a refresher (water).

It was simply amazing! We fell in love with this Sassi! We booked a normal room, nevertheless the staff offered us the suit for no difference in the price. It was the best stay we ever had - so authentic to the city and in the same time comfy! After a long day of experiencing Matera (lots of walking and climbing) we were able to enjoy the bathtub and had a great rest! The breakfast was also very delicious. We recommend this property with both hands! ❤️

Breakfast was excellent, cold cuts fresh pastries great coffee great clean designer setting, location was perfect with a number of amazing restaurants at your door or 2 mins away, The room & the building/cave was like a designer had fitted it out, it was impressive felt very luxurious modern well appointed fittings, it was the best stay staff couldn't do more & location was in the best possible position.. highly recommend this property.

The owner was super nice, communicative and her English was excellent. You can tell they have the customer experience really well thought out. Bed was comfy, room was gorgeous and clean, room was also big with balcony access which was lovely for sipping wine in the evening. Breakfast was the best free hotel breakfast we've had across our 10 days in Italy. The spread wasn't huge but it was high quality. It surpassed even the 5* Marriotts we've been to.

I wish the checkout time was a bit later so we could have had a lazier morning but that's personal preference. Out of the property's control but it really isn't handicap accessible in any way. You can't drive up and even with a taxi you still have to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the room. This is typical for matera but take her advice, park in the private lot and take a taxi there.

Staying at this BnB in Matera was an unforgettable experience. The room was a beautifully renovated 'Sassi' cave dwelling with modern amenities, a comfortable bed, and great air conditioning. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the breakfast, paired with a stunning view, made it hard to ever want to leave. Matera can be confusing to navigate at first, but Elisabetta and the staff were super communicative and made finding the hotel easy.

I wish I'd stayed longer!

Enjoyed our stay - room was great and breakfast was superb. Friendly staff - they even were happy to cook eggs for us for breakfast. Lovely terrace to sit and have breakfast with amazing views of Matera.

My only disappointment was I specifically booked this property due to the massage and spa facilities only to be told that it was not open even though this was not mentioned anywhere on their website and we weren't informed at the time of booking. Had I know I would not have booked this property

Situated in the Sassi area of Matera. Amazing views from the terrace & our suite was sympathetically & tastefully decorated. Breakfast was fresh & plentiful. Many good restaurants right on your door step.

Only one very small negative - no information in room - ie WiFi codes, which would have been helpful.

We stayed in the Metello suite and it was pure luxury. The room was so beautiful with designer furniture and fittings carved into the cave with a beautiful bathroom and standalone bath. There so many candles for lighting in the evening. We have our own private table on the terrace directly outside our room where we had breakfast overlooking the sassi. It was easy to explore the sassi from this location. Everything was perfect.
