The location, the amazing view and the room

The attitude of the staff which was always negative with no smile. The breakfast was very basic . We received everyday ruined fruits and the bread was not fresh. What really disappointed us is that when we complained about the fruits … we received a surprising reply from the manager that if you don’t like… just remove it. The unfriendly staff attitude made our stay not enjoyable.

We stayed for 5 days and it was incredible. The staff were very friendly and professional. I felt that they really cared about us and our stay. They really helped us with getting a taxi from naples to the hotel which was a huge stress reliever. The staff went out of their way to help us navigate when we had issues with the bus and ferry and answers the phone immediately. Bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly. The cleaning staff were so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was brought to our room exactly on time and simple but very good. The lobby is adorable with a great view! I would absolutely stay here again. I miss it already! location is amazing for restaurants, grocery, bars, and bus stop. 10 min walk to the beach and ferry.

we loved the location but some may find it difficult to get to from the port as there are a ton of steps to walk up to get there. this is all over Amalfi coast, so it is as expected. we loved the location, did not mind walking and it was perfect for the view. the ONLY thing we did not like was the slow internet and the noise of the hotel neighbors/dogs. We made a joke about it and it was fine.

This property was prefect for us. If you are looking for a more intimate hotel experience rather than a "large hotel experience" this property checks all the boxes. It is a family run hotel. All family members were friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable and help us. They have a small bar where you can purchase drinks, wine and snacks. The daily breakfast delivered to your door, and it is wonderful. The views are spectacular. The rooms are on the smaller side, but really we were either out touring or sitting on the balcony. The rooms were cleaned daily and the bathroom was spacious. There are stairs, but they also have an elevator. The location is at the start of the shopping and dining district leading down to the center of town. Perfect! We will remember this hotel for a long time.

I can't think of a thing. I loved everything. However if you are into fancy décor, high thread counts or want a hotel experience., this is not your place. This is for people who want to experience Positano in a more authentic way, staying at a family run property.

Great central location. Spacious room with wonderful patio and lounge chairs. Beautiful view from room. LOVED the breakfast being brought to your room perfect way to start a day on vacation. Wonderful bathroom with shower. Staff very friendly and helpful with anything you need such as reservations or recommendations of things to do. Very clean rooms and hotel in general. Room service and bar is fabulous when you don’t feel like going out or just want to hang around and have a drink.

Pillows were not comfortable but besides that everything was perfect.

This was a very comfortable room with a very large terrace. We really enjoyed having our breakfast on the terrace which was delivered to our room every morning. The breakfast menu was extensive & we were able to chose the time of delivery. It was hard to leave the terrace as the view was so amazing! However, it was easy to get to the centre as the bus stop was just steps away. This was one of our favourite accommodations on our month long trip!

The view of the sea were breathtaking. The hotel was immaculately clean and tidy. Room was lovely and spacious with reasonably priced mini bar. Enjoyed having breakfast delivered to room to eat on balcony. Bed was very large and comfortable. Up to date electronic equipment and carving points. Amazingly powerful monsoon shower and large bathroom space for toiletries, etc. All staff were lovely and friendly throughout our stay.

There were some ants inside the room astound balcony door end. The sound of doors slamming at early hours was awakening.

The hotel, staff, and location were all excellent! When we checked in, Lucia the owner, was so kind to upgrade our room. This is one of the most outstanding views from our room terrace we've ever had. The room is updated and immaculate There were numerous breakfast choices and they were delivered o our room each morning. Information about getting around Positano was helpful. The view from the lobby sitting area is spectacular. When I booked my room I had many questions which I emailed through Bookings. The hotel was so helpful. I wanted to make sure a car/taxi could get to the hotel front door without us traipsing up stairs with luggage. This was one of the main factors in choosing Hotel Gabbiano. ..easy access from the street. The hotel arrange advance car service pickups efficiently and responded back to me quickly. All in all, this hotel was a wonderful choice due to the staff, location, and the facility itself. All excellent! GRAZIE.

Nothing to dislike.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with MANY options and delivered to your room at an hour of your choosing - very much appreciated! The view from our room was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day on our terrace overlooking the harbor and waters surrounding Positano. The a/c worked well and the room darkening shutters were excellent for a great night's sleep. The FULLY tiled bathroom was a luxurious royal blue, extremely clean and well appointed. The location was perfect for us as we could walk to many restaurants and shops.

At first glance the bedding looked a bit worn and dated. However it was very clean and comfortable and was a small disappointment compared to everything else which was updated and attractive. It would be an improvement if this would become a non-smoking hotel as when others smoked on their terraces in the morning while breakfast was served you could not avoid the smoke without returning to your room and closing your doors - missing out on the beautiful view.

The rooms were cleaned for us very well every single day, and the breakfast was brought to our room on time every morning.The view from the appartment is very pretty and we enjoyed the patio so much. Also, the staff gave us beach towels and helped us call a taxi when we left.

If we ate breakfast at the outside table, after like 30 minutes, lots of ants would crawl on the table. We had to be careful not to leave food on the table for too long.

Greta location and excellent views. Our room was spacious with a big balcony with amazing views. Breakfast was delivered fresh to the room and balcony every morning. Staff were very helpful. The hotel is also on the main road into town so was easy to get to without the need to carry bags up and down stairs. Also being on the road, if you didn’t want to climb 20 stories of stairs from the centre of town, you can stroll up the sloped road. There was also a great wine and cheese shop across the road for those afternoons of watching the sunset with a nice bottle of wine.

The beds were small and was a tight fit for an averaged sized person.
