An excellent location, our room had a waterfront view. Our room was very nice with a sofa at mezzanine level. Had everything we wanted, and well looked after Has a 4th floor restaurant where breakfast is served - and an outside terrace with panoramic views. Staff would never fail in offering further coffee etc The breakfasts were very good - including egg dishes cooked to order But for us, the stand out feature was the quality of the staff in all departments, but, particularly, reception. Not just on check in/out, but throughout our stay When a medical problem they gave a lot of time and attention to identify where medical support could be obtained (on a holidaySunday), how we could access it and the logistics of doing so. Only really good places offer this level of support

This was our third visit to this hotel, but spanning 22 years. It was wonderful to return. This hotel is beautiful, right in Ortigia. The staff is amazing, and we were able to enjoy once again walking around Ortigia and enjoying the sights. The hotel helped us find a wonderful guide for the archeological park The restaurant staff was wonderful at breakfast and dinner. We were traveling as a family of eight, and gathered for a birthday celebration in the dining room. It was perfect.

Lovely hotel, well located. Breakfast was at the restaurant on the top floor which had a lovely view of the harbor. Breakfast had a choice of premade and made upon request foods. Freshly squeezed orange juice and almond granita were morning treats at breakfast. Had a small room, as booked, but it was well decorated and stocked. Individual toiletries smelled divine. Parking was available for a reasonable fee on the hotel’s park, in front of the hotel.

This is not a hotel. It is ....an emotion. Un emozione. The beauty of its grand interiors matches the beauty of the people who work inside there which probably is more important. Cinzia the beautiful owner is an exceptional woman who went out of her way to satisfy a silly request of mine. She humbled me and glorified the concept of customer service. I hope one day i can reach that level of pure service. Bravi tutti. I cannot wait to come back again. Ah and the breakfast and the view and the decor ....simply wow. Romantic and classically elegant yet with a strong sicilianity and ortigian influences without being cheesy or forced. Perfect.

The only thing that i would do is simply have a piano. Probably they have one but didnt see it. But all that grandeur would have inspired me to play some piano. Otherwise my answer is: nothing.

Oozing with charm of times long past the hotel is comfortable, well located, friendly and all one needs for a base in Syracuse. The rooftop terrace is a terrific space for breakfast.

Our residential stylist felt the room was a little over furnished leaving us pressed to find good places for 2 open suitcases.

The hotel is a charming historical boutique hotel overlooking the Ortigia harbor. A perfect location for exploring the island. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. We experienced two rooms. The inner courtyard rooms are a bit small especially if you are traveling with much luggage. The partial sea view was perfect. The sea view rooms were booked. We had a look and they are spectacular. Breakfast in the rooftop restaurant and terrace was exceptional. Besides the delicious buffet we ordered off a menu of numerous eggs dishes. Dinner in the restaurant on our last night was memorable at sunset. The rooms are immaculately clean and the staff is friendly and courteous. Returning in the evening there were fresh towels in the bathroom and cookies on our pillows. We will definitely return.

The hotel lives up to its name! We stayed during our last visit in 2016 and looked forward to staying again on the last night of our holiday this year. Everything is top quality. We enjoyed cocktails on the terrace in the evening and a superb breakfast the following morning. A real bonus is the private car park literally just over the road from the hotel. A stay in Ortigia should not me missed - Staying at the Grand Hotel is the "icing on the cake"

Nothing not to like

Could not have asked for more. The best; service I have experienced in all of Italy. The breakfast was wonderful and everyone was so helpful in so many ways. We had been to the hotel many relays ago an all the changes have made it only better. Also enjoyed the fabulous rooftop restaurant.

The bathroom in our Junior suite was a little crowded but everything worked perfectly.

I loved the location of the hotel--it was fairly easy to drive to and the hotel parking was just across the street from the hotel, plus it was near to many good restaurants and sights. The restaurant and the terrace bar provided a view of the city, and was a nice setting for an end of the day drink and breakfast the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable, if a bit small, but was fine for one person. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially for getting my heavy bag up and down the steps at the entry to the hotel.

I could have been given more explicit directions as to the exact location of the hotel parking and how to access it (I had messaged the hotel beforehand)--it was very simple once I called the hotel from the street, but the streets are narrow and I had a problem with finding a place to even pull over to make the call.
