We visited Taormina and stayed at this beautiful house in early July. The house and the garden are even more stunning in real life, and it's perfect for a family. We traveled with two children aged 10 and 14. The host, Louisa, offered us a 5-star treatment and helped us with booking restaurants, beach clubs, and assisted with everything we wanted to know during our stay. She was always available with the best recommendations. We were there during the Taormina film festival, which is a rather busy time of year. However, Villa Britannia is a quiet oasis away from the crowded areas, and it's still just a very short walk to the center. We completely fell in love with Taormina and Villa Britannia. Louisa went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home in her amazing house and hometown. We will definitely come back and choose Villa Britannia over any 5-star hotel. Louisa's hospitality and the beauty of the house and its surroundings have left a lasting impression on us.

Perfect location- on a quiet street, a short five minute walk to the center of town. We parked our car in the garage provided (located in front of the villa) and walked everywhere. The villa exceeded our expectations- Clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable with amazing views of the sea. The villa also has a lovely garden with a lemon tree and a tree swing! We did yoga in the garden, enjoyed drinking coffee on the upstairs porch and cocktails and dinner on the large downstairs porch. All the porches have amazing views of the sea. The kitchen is well equipped with pots/pans and cooking utensils. The amazing hosts, Marco and Louisa, took great care of us. They helped us with our bags, gave us wonderful dinner recommendations and coordinated transportation to and from the beach club. It felt like a home away from home. Housekeeping was also provided daily. Our family of four had plenty of room to spread out with the entire villa to ourselves!

Nothing!

Villa Britannia is so lovely! It felt like staying at a friend's cool, arty house. Comfortable, warm and stylish. The room we had was massive! Really felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was incredible and Marcos was so friendly and helpful. It was the perfect amount of attention and privacy at the villa. The location is perfect, quietly away from the busy part of town, but it's only about a 10min walk around the corner. And then there's the view...the view from the house and from our room was beautiful, I could look out at the ocean and the houses slotted up the mountain all day. Would go back to Villa Britannia in a heart beat!

Everything was perfect

A beautiful villa, with Louisa, our hostess, who welcomed us with such warmth, hospitality, kindness, and grace. She goes above and beyond to make you feel that the villa is your home. Breakfasts are amazing, with Sicilian cheeses, hams, breads, croissants, fresh fruit and tomatoes, yogurt, and eggs cooked to order. And you set your breakfast time! Louisa made dinner reservations for us, set up tours, and helped with a myriad of details. Our room was kept immaculately clean (thank you, Patrizia). The grounds and gardens are beautiful too. If you come to Taormina, you must stay at Villa Brittania. We were sad to say goodbye, but have dreams of returning to this Sicilian paradise.

There's nothing not to like.

Warm personal welcome, service, and advice throughout. Louisa took individual breakfast requests each evening and the food was top-notch, fresh, and varied. Our room was huge with 2 balconies (one with a sea view and the 2nd with a garden view. The Villa was large with a softly lit, comfortable bar/lounge for guests. Each evening a varied repertoire of soft jazz was played. Breakfast was served on the shady terrace. Louisa made reservations for dinners, outings, and a beach club upon our request. While there we went to the local opera (close by), visited the ancient amphitheater, and spent time on the beach. We toured Mt. Etna and also drove into Castlemoto for walking and lunch. We truly felt at-home in the villa.

Nothing to improve upon. I wish we had stayed longer.

This is an amazing villa! a real retreat. what can i say, it exceeded my expectations! Louisa, the owner, is an amazing woman and runs this place impeccably. The home, the garden, the terraces, the furniture, bed, paintings on the wall - everything is carefully designed and thought of. The house has a large inviting living room, a big kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine, generous breakfast on the terrace with the breeze from the sea, a huge room with 2 terraces - one overlooking the sea and the other - the garden. You have total privacy, the whole house for yourself (there was another couple in this 2 bedroom house, whom i have only met on the last day at breakfast). if you are looking for more than just a place to sleep - rather, experience some true Sicilian/British living - this is the place!

The villa is 8-10 minutes walk to/from Taormina center, up and down hill. This gives you the quite evenings away from the crowds, but is still a consideration especially if you are carrying heavy luggage - perhaps take a taxi if coming from the main bus station.

The property has been thoughtfully decorated and exudes a relaxed homely yet sophisticated ambiance. Our hosts Marco and Louisa were very welcoming and hospitable throughout. We saw them at breakfast each morning, and we saw the other 2 guests occasionally, but mostly we had the whole place to ourselves. Great location, just a short 10 minute walk to town, and quiet with secure parking. We'd love to stay again.

Nothing, couldn't be better.

Villa Britannia is now my official benchmark for vacation places to stay. The location, the villa, and all the small details are exceptional and exactly how you'd imagine living in Sicily. Louisa is just the best hostess you could imagine. She's very friendly, helpful, and happy to share all her tips about Taormina. She helped me book a taxi from the airport, local restaurants, the beach club, and more. The villa itself is worth exploring in the smallest details, have a slow and delicious breakfast on the terrace and, of course, enjoy the views!

I wish I could live there

We really liked the villa and the location, and the owner went above and beyond to make you comfortable. Everything was super easy to find. The owner left us a bottle of wine for not being there upon arrival - which of course was not necessary, but definitely made our day. We also received clean towels very frequently, and a new bottle of water every day which is rare these days. The house has a unique atmosphere and a wonderful terrace. Having breakfast in the sun on that terrace was certainly the best way to wake up. The center of Taormina is quite busy, but as the villa is located a short walk away you find yourself in a quiet neighbourhood. Since parking is quite difficult in the town, it is really convenient to have the garage to park in. Overall, the villa is a little bubble in a beautiful town with a lovely owner putting a lot of effort.

When someone uses a tap when you’re in the shower, your shower will go either warm or cold. But it helps you wake up better :) We regretted not being able to do the cooking course which we thought we could arrange upon arrival, but it was entirely booked out by private parties. As such, I would recommend to book in advance if you’re interested in this. At last, we weren’t able to use the garage due to a double booking during the last day/night. The street is for residents only and cars will be towed, so this made us a bit anxious but it all worked out in the end.

Louisa is the perfect host, leaving us really comfortable and made us feel at home. We had a flight problem in Napoli to get to Sicily and Louisa gave us all the support we needed to the point of expecting us outside her house around 9 pm to be sure that we had made it. The house of villa britannia is something that came out of a movie and the bed was as comfortable as it could be. Our only regret is that we didn't book the other room with friends so we could have the whole house for ourselves. Louise knows everything in the city and was always available to give us the best advice. The only problem you might have staying with Louisa is to decide whether to go to the city or stay in the house. You might need 30 hours in the day to enjoy both the city and villa britannia. We will be back for sure, there's no other way to go to taormina.
