Breakfast excellent. Staff excellent. Room kind of small.

More surface space to place things.

The hotel is a lovely boutique hotel located 10min walk from St Marks square , Had a superior room for a little extra it was a decent size lovely bathroom sockets and usb points by bedside air conditioner a life saver also a room safe overall very comfortable and spotlessly clean , hotel has small bar which doubles for breakfast , got breakfast as an extra well worth it , continental was very good . The hotel is only 100yds or so from a stop for the waterbus a brilliant public service great way to get around day ticket €25 for 24 hr unlimited use . The Alilaguna also stops there a waterbus to and from the Airport brings you directly into the airport on water only €15 each one way fantastic. Staff professional and pleasant Language at times difficult but that was as much our fault overall excellent.

The rooftop terrace was closed for the duration of our stay which was a disappointment but there was seating outside at the front of the hotel

The location was amazing! But then my place of work was Teatro Fenice, so it was close. The staff were lovely - I was mostly out in the morning and back in the evenings but from the little I saw of them. The breakfast was non-existent for people with allergies, so I did not take it. The roof terrace was out of order, so couldn’t use it. Otherwise it was lovely. And my room overlooked the square.

Not catering for people with allergies - I was offered the tiniest basket of dry bread and muesli. No restaurant in the hotel. This is a huge minus. They give you a voucher to one nearby hotel, but it’s not quite the same as those guys don’t really care and are open to other members of the public.

Efficient and easy check in, being shown to my room and assisted with suitcase - such a warren that I may not have found my own way. Always helpful and smiling staff on reception to answer any questions and direct me to the breakfast room. Brisk service in the breakfast room, buffet being constantly replaced and tables cleared and cleaned very quickly. The hotel is in a lovely quiet square almost adjacent to the water bus stop - but thankfully less congested and busy. It's only a ten minute walk to St Marks Square and there was a canal outside my bedroom window. Comfortable lounge area to read or wait, flavoured water, cooled water and ice, shoe shining machines (!) on every floor. Kettle in room and complimentary bottles of water in the fridge.

The room was small, I stayed alone so it was fine, but if there had been a companion we would have had to be very close. I understand completely and was prepared for it.

The location of Hotel Ala Venezia was perfect - just a quick walk from the ferry that goes along the Grand Canal and directly to the airport (Alilaguna Orange Line A) The area is actually fairly quiet but very close to all the must see sights. The room itself was cozy, clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly, helpful and just really delightful. The hotel offered breakfast at a reasonable price and the hot and cold selections were generous and delicious. We were also offered a dinner discount at a nearby restaurant and were seated along a small canal. In addition, we had the opportunity to take a free water taxi tour to the island of Murano to do a free tour of a glass blowing workshop. Of course you must exit through the gift shop but you can leave gracefully even if you don't want to purchase a $40,000 chandelier. It was a perfect place for an older couple to base a 3 day exploration of Venezia.

The small bathroom was arranged somewhat awkwardly and there wasn't even room to mount a toilet paper roll near the toilet. We were on the top floor and had charming exposed support beams. Wasn't bad for a 5'4" person but left some souvenir bumps on the 6'4"

The property was in a great location. Super close to the S Maria de Giglio stop for the water bus ferry which made getting there from the airport very easy and then getting to the train station easy as well. It was a quick walk to Piazza San Marco, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from our location. There was an issue with our room, but when we told the staff about it, they said the easiest solution was to change our room and that way they could fix the problem without inconveniencing us. Very helpful. Air conditioning was nice and strong and there was free cold water and ice in the lobby too.

This is a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Located in a very central area and a few steps from public transport. It’s about 10 minutes walk to either the Rialto Bridge or Piazza San Marco and very close to some high end shops. All in all great location. Bea was comfortable with great linens and the buffet breakfast was pretty good although repetitive

Room was small and the washroom was tiny. I couldn’t close the shower door when showering because it was too small. It also didn’t smell very good. We’ve stayed there before and the room was better/ bigger. Try to get a room facing the canal rather than the square.

The buffet breakfast was good, and you ate in a nice restaurant. The rooftop patio was under construction, so we didn't get to experience it, but they did have a small outside patio we enjoyed. The location was good, especially for getting to the airport. The water taxi comes right to the hotel to pick you up and whisked us away to the airport. So convenient! The ACTV water shuttle dock is just a quick walk away so that was very nice too. Everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful. A/C worked great. Would certainly stay here again.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, however if you have trouble with stairs, you may not be interested in this hotel. I did see an elevator in the hotel, but I never looked into where it went. We stayed on the second floor and had to climb the stairs to get to our room. They did help us get our bags into our room though.

Location is fantastic and only a few moments walk to St Marks Square. We arrived by foot having travelled by the Kompas Ferry from Rovinj in Croatia. The docking location was not far at all so we didn't need a water taxi thankfully as these are expensive. There is a boat stop right by the hotel where you can get taxi's or even better the Vaporetto which is the cheapest way to see the water ways of Venice. If you fly into Marco Polo you can get the A line boat to this hotel and the stop you need is - S.M Del Giglio. So location and access is perfect for central Venice. Room and breakfast were both also fantastic. The hotel don't seem to offer breakfast when booking but they do offer it for 7 Euros if you pre book breakfast before you arrive which I thoroughly recommend. Can't fault this hotel!

The only thing we thought was a bit off was that they won't allow you take any glass to your room. We had brought a couple of bottles of wine for the mini fridge but when we asked for a couple of glasses the answer was no (albeit politely). I understand safety concerns but we are grown adults and we are also customers so I feel they should be more flexible on this. Still the wine tasted almost as good out of the paper cups provided.

Excellent location, excellent breakfast, kind staff, perfect cleanliness. Easy to get to from the airport - vaporetto from pier 12 to the final stop and then 2 minutes to the hotel. Good air conditioning but was noisy from time to time. The room was small, but sufficient if you are not traveling for a long time and do not have large suitcases. The beds are comfortable.

Poor soundproofing, mini fridge just for decoration, it didn't work. The shower cabin was very small and it was relatively difficult to even turn around in it, but it's OK.
