Service staff - Alexander the Asst Director / Manager was Fantastic , he had a keen eye for detail and was very helpful , Bernardo , Sofia , and the entire front desk staff were fabulous , Mariana in the dining room was very Courteous, and always served with a smile , all other dining staff also very good , João at the pool bar was fantastic and all guests loved his service , Val and Ioio, at the kids club were superb and my son loved them and looked forward to participating in activities every day . The GM also was very attentive and his presence was felt around the place . Had a fantastic week ..

This is an exceptional hotel -- for its history, its location, and for the high quality of its rooms, facilities, maintenance, and staff. The views from the hotel are stunning, in different ways at different times of the day. Our fifth floor view was especially beautiful. Though located right on the edge of the ocean, the hotel is within walking distance of several useful and charming locations and services. We used a nearby beauty salon, small lunch counters, bank with indoor ATM, ice cream stand (first-rate, Italian-style gelados). We did several walks alongside historic beach front, in a small park with children's swings and slides, and on small old-town streets. Nearby is a charming old European style square bustling with families and children and elderly persons. A wonderful feeling. The food at the hotel was terrific. It was buffet style, both breakfast (included) and dinner (paid for separately). There was an immense choice of food items for both meals, well prepared and elaborately laid out. The staff was first-rate, especially those assisting at meals and the front-desk staff, who were readily available and efficient in meeting our particular needs. The staff cleaning the rooms were also wonderful, helpful, attentive, and thorough in making every day pleasant and comfortable, and keeping the room clean and well-stocked with fresh towels and other bathroom items.

A few things about the room facilities. Refrigerator space was meager, which made it difficult for us coming from places where our refrigerated items (on which we relied for lunch, for instance) had been easily accommodated and could not be easily stored in this hotel. Also some details about the bathroom need attention: no fan, slippery bath tub and shower due to no mat.

Dream location at the ocean. Special building and interior style. Nice room with great balcony view. Very friendly staff and room service. Unannounced arrival early check in help. Nice breakfast. Fair price.

Limited number of electricity sockets in room. Slow wifi. No smart TV or Chromecast possible. Restrictes opening hours of the swimming pool 10-7.

The location was staggeringly beautiful. Unusual to be able to eat breakfast so close to the sea. Having the beach and town so accessible was fantastic. The pools were gorgeous. Excellent for those with children. There was a bouncy castle and play park and it looked like there were organised activities for kids as well. A large cuddly Poseidon of the sea was walking around at breakfast.

Beautiful location right on the coast. Very beautiful breakfast room and old style of a historic hotel. Had a lot of character.

It was really hard to get a good night sleep—between people talking in other rooms and doors in the hallway being open and closed. I’m pretty sure the trash bins were emptied at 7am everyday!? Or something else that was quite loud at the same time everyday.

Staff is exceptional, from the reception to the cleaning. Everyone is welcoming, extremely polite, everyone is ready to attend you in the best possible way. Rooms are very clean, everything is well organized. Excellent breakfast and meal for lunch. Best location of Ericeira, great view, it has a parking lot if you come by car.

There is nothing I can say I didn't like. Really.

the location was/is perfect. Our room overlooked the Atlantic which was perfect. Breakfast was very good. There was varied choices catering for varied tastes. Again, the view from the restaurant was lent a pleasant calm to breakfast.

There were none of the things in our room that one comes to expect like, tea /coffe, Items such a a bottle of water each day. toiletries in the bathroom. One doesn't necessarily use them but are missed when not there. Otherwise a great place to stay

A somewhat faded beauty! High quality, but starting to feel a little dated. Breakfast was vast, high quality and very enjoyable. Surfing lessons were also organised via the hotel with Ericeira Waves (happily with no additional hotel commission,which was really refreshing!). Ericeira Waves Surf School was fantastic for me and my 2 kids (aged 10 and 12)

Room was smaller than I would have liked once a pull out bed was in place, but it was good that they did this without complaint or fuss. Weather in August was colder and greyer than expected (but this was not the hotel's fault!)

Loved the views and the location! Food was good! When we checked in a tour group cut into the line with about 20 people and the front desk staff made them go to the end of the line. I was happy about that.

The housekeeping staff was unfriendly, if not unkind. I asked to empty our trash and the gal gave me the meanest look and did not say a word. I later passed her in the hall and she looked very unkindly at me again. It upset my fun vacation for a bit because I was kind to her.

Location. FOH staff, pool facilities, view from room. Love the location, outlook, and it’s faded glory. There’s something Hitchcock-eque meets cruise ship about the hotel . The outdoor spaces were very well maintained and that is a worthwhile, ongoing investment.

The bar and foyer need an overhaul. They are dark and heavy spaces not reflective of the location. It disconnects you from where you are.
