Location is easily to reach by coach from Tokyo Station as the Hotel is only 6/7 minutes walk from Fuji-Q Highland coach/bus station. ( Dont go by train, it's 30 min difficult route to find & walk from the Fuji -Q TRAIN station.) Japan Bus Online has tickets costing a bit over ¥2000 one way. The Hotel is 20 min walk from the free to visit Fujisan World Heritage Center, and brilliant views on Mt Fuji are only a few minutes away from the hotel possible, as the hotel is surrounded by tall trees. There is an onzen to be used privatly & for free at the main building. Despite the hotel being close to the fun park it is very tranquile. A Don Quichote Supermarket is just down the road. The hotel has guest rooms in the main building as well as chalet appartments next to the main building.
The traditional futon mats on the tatami floor in the chalet are still a but hard on female hips. Breakfast is very simple and Western. A bit cereal, milk, tea/coffee, juice, yoghurt, filled sandwiches, boiled eggs, butter, jam, croissants. Not a lot savoury optuons or low carb. There are kitchens in the chalets, but only the fridge was usable. There was a kind of Japanese hot water kettle/dispenser we didn't use.

Such a lovely, underrated pleasant hotel. There are two onsens to use with the help of a reservation system, when we stayed we could easily reserve them last minute. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. People leave their shoes at the entrance, slippers and a kimonostyle bathrobe are waiting for you. It is possible to rent bikes, even electric bikes. Though the bikes could do with a bith of technical TLC they function well enough to cycle to the lake at the base of mt. Fuji. The staff is helpfull and kind. Breakfast is complementary, rather basic (yoghurts, breads, buns, coffee/thea &juice) but tasty and plentifull. We could only stay for one night, wish we could have stayed for longer!
The location, or more specific, the way to get there The location itself is quite nice but we arrived by train - it is a stern 20 min walk, partly over the main road, past the rollercoasterpark, through a parking lot etc. It feels like you are walking somewhere you're not supposed to, but that is the route. Equally so when arriving past don quichote it feels like you're in a wrong location. Some signs along the road might be helpful ;). Nb. Probably less relevant when travelling by car, the hotel is close to the road and with its own parking lot. Also the bathroomunit was rather small. We liked it, rather funny to get in and out the small door ;).

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. The facilities were very clean and our bungalow had everything we needed. The staff provided a lot of written instructions on how to use various appliances and amenities which was also very thoughtful.
While the staff provided bug spray in the bungalow, as foreigners we weren’t prepared to know what type of insects we’d experience while staying in the bungalow. While this isn’t the responsibility of the staff, it would have been helpful to have a document listing common insects in addition to providing the spray.

We have our small chalet( half of it). With own small bath outside - onsen outdoor, in the small compound. The chalet is clean, Bath room was small - the usual japanese style. Great location - near the theme park. But definitely need own car to get around.
The onsen place over the main building looks a bit old, but still okay to use.

Facilities were clean and convenient. The private onsen included with a reservation was a highlight. We also stayed in the room that included an outdoor bath, which was amazing. The breakfast was filling and a nice addition (especially for the affordable price of our stay).
We loved everything about the facility itself. If I had to nitpick, the location isn’t super convenient for public transportation or in walking of most of Mt. Fuji’s iconic sights and attractions outside of Fuji-Q (the front gate is an easy 10 minute walk from the Inn). There is a bus stop also about 10 minutes away that will take you most places, but it is up a steep flight of stairs and over an overpass with no accessibility options for luggage or people with disabilities. The walk to Fujikyu-Highland Station is about 20-25 minutes away and mostly through side streets without sidewalks or paving. It wasn’t too much of a hassle for us, but be aware what you are getting into if you’re taking public transportation.

I stayed in one of the traditional Japanese rooms which was a good experience but I think if I stayed again I’d stay in a western style room. I recommend getting a room with a spa on the balcony as that was quite relaxing in the evening. The bigger onsens that you can book to use were really good too. Breakfast was supplied and was decent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I can’t say there’s a lot that I didn’t like about my stay. Maybe how far you had to walk for restaurants, gym, supermarket etc but that has nothing to do with the accomodation. I enjoyed my stay.

Away from the major busy spots. On sunny day, you get the beautiful Mt Fuji all for yourself. Wonderful location to recharge and enjoy the peaceful Kawaguchiko. The Japanese style room gives you another experience to enjoy the quiet night. The room we chose comes with private outdoor bath. It was definite a wonderful experience to enjoy the bathtub in the cold! Highly recommended for those of you who do not like to get stuck in the crowd.
Probably the accessibility to public transportation. In order to get to the nearest train station, it requires you to walk pass Highland Q theme park which takes you another 10-15 min walk. (and you can easily get lost in the park!)

we loved the outdoor onsen/tub! it was honestly the main reason I booked it. we sat in it for at least 2 hours. i booked two rooms for our family. one for myself and my husband. the other for our teenagers. the staff were very welcoming. there’s a multipurpose room with a ping pong table and vending machine-we didn’t spend any time there but I love that it’s an option. my kids also said breakfast was good!
the only negative about our stay was that you can hear everything. a guests alarm started going off at 3:30-4am and kept going off for about an hour. we could hear our neighbors conversations and at one point I giggled at a joke my husband said and our neighbors banged on our wall. And a few minutes later we could hear them laughing and talking. we didn’t mind because we didn’t have plans the next day but if we needed a restful night of sleep we wouldn’t have gotten it that night.

The breakfast was fulfilling. Their public onsens were clean. The private onsen was relaxing. It's a few minutes to walk to the Fuji-Q station, theme park, museum and Fujiyama Onsen. The restaurants down the street were quite far - 15 minutes to the Sushi Conveyer belt, but worth the walk!
The Inn is wonderful with friendly staff. Unfortunately, the walls are thin, and people are unaware of their surroundings. Even with the signs posted everywhere to keep quiet, the guests are not following the rules.

Highland resort review: convenient location for bus transport drop off, free bus shuttle in front of hotel, and entry into Fuji Q whenever we wanted to. View was spectacular, got to see a clear amount Fuji the morning we were leaving (other days overcast). Breakfast was delicious and getting lunch at the park was a nice bonus. They have these Potato Tornados that were to die for
Original booking closed and got bought out with new management, so didn’t get to stay at this location. Got moved to Highland resort instead, which was still an amazing experience (and probably better for the family) but didn’t have the in nature feel Walking wise from the hotel is a little bit of a hassle, when the park is open getting around is easy, otherwise you have to walk all the way around the park to get to the busier bus station. You’re also by a highway (not overly crowded) but a little unnerving walking by when trying the cross the street towards Mt Fuji
