It is a nice, clean place with new furniture and appliances. The location is very good, close to the slopes. They offer a shuttle service to and from the station and a few other places every evening which is very convenient. They also have their own rental shop. I would like to especially say a big thank you to Archie who was extremely kind, helpful and professional. He really made us feel welcome!

We had a room with a shower and even though it was nice and modern with floor heating, the shower itself was very disappointing as the water pressure was extremely low and it wasn’t hot enough. The shared bathroom downstairs is very small and a bit uncomfortable to share with strangers.

Nice staff. 3 minute walk to the Sakka lift. Snowboard/Ski rentals in the lodge are very reasonably priced and convenient. Excellent restaurant (called hybrid) next door. Hot breakfast in the morning for a quick bite and meeting other travelers. Large and welcoming living-room-like common area for socializing. Clean. Fun decor. Staff will drive you to the bus station upon arrival and departure. Evening rides for shopping/dinner/onsen. Nice onsens at hotels about a 15 minute walk away. Convenient gear storage room.

The bus terminal is about a 30 minute walk away, so a car is helpful during evening hours when the public shuttles are not running. I believe there are direct buses (from Sakka or nearby hotel) to the nearby resorts like Hakuba 47 and Iwatake, but the Hakuba Valley Shuttle does not stop nearby - except at the Tokyu Hotel 3 times a day - so getting to resorts like Cortina takes longer because you have to first take a bus to the Bus Terminal.

Breakfast was included in our stay. Hot breakfast are made to order, so there is a little room for cunstomization. My friend was vegetarian so that was great to have. The area is great for walking- beware though that its on quite steep uphill climb- they have bikes for rent (for free) (and if you're not a seasoned uphill climber, you can request for a pickup- if they are available or walk the bike back up). All the rooms are bit different so room sizes vary but it was a quite comfortable stay. They also offer to drop you off (because its really hard to get around without a car- though you could try biking :) ) and you can grab a taxi back - from the closest town- its only a few minutes Taxi ride. They have larger rooms for families, and you can borrow their kitchen (since there are limited places to eat nearby). The room has a refrigerator so you can store some food there and you can use the kitchen to make meals from scratch or heat up your food. Hitomi was amazing, and made our check in experience great- she also recommended places to eat and visit.

Bathroom size ( it was a weird cut- not really square or octagonal) was a little strange and the sink was tiny but honestly it wasn't unmanageable or a big issue. They are a bit far from any convenience store (by that I mean not walking distance) but you can pick up groceries when you're in town :)

Staff were lovely and accomodating. Breakfast next door simple but good range of food to set you up for a day on the slopes (daily hot breakfast too on rotation). Able to order dinner takeaway from the restaurant and eat in the lodge which was great! Communal area was nice to sit and wind down.

Was aware of shared bathroom facilities upon booking, but wasn’t aware how “shared” they actually were (onsen style). This didn’t bother me, however a heads up for future guests :)) Single bedroom quite a tight fit where extra hooks on door/wall would be beneficial.

Honestly, everything. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond to help you. On site ski-tech is a fabulous service to have. The bar serves an amazing hot breakfast every day, as well as basic continental. Proximity to ski fields as well as the shuttles are a few minutes walking distance. Heated floors in the shared common area is a dream after a day on the slopes! The private room with ensuite was an absolute winner, glad we went this option just for the space. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Nothing!

WOW! I loved this place! It had everything that I needed and the staff made it feel like home. I was impressed with the look of the building, too. It had a funky vibe which I loved. I was also amazed with the breakfast the next morning. The whole experience was great. The rooms even had Netflix which was nice to settle down after hiking and enjoy some tv time.

Loved the relaxed and family atmosphere with plenty of community hangout space and even a kids and game room that our little ones loved. Staff was also incredible helping us with travel plans before and during our stay and even set up a baby cot for us and helped us arrange a babysitter. The property had bikes that fit everyone in our family and even SUP’s available for rent. Snacks and beverages were available for purchase and breakfast was wonderful and included. Location was very convenient and also relaxing in the woods. On location private bath and dryers were a huge plus. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone who likes a relaxed vacation experience.

We wish the bar was open on busy days in the summer! It says open on Google but it is only available in the winter.

The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly! I stayed very early in the season before the shuttle services started, Penke Panke ran a shuttle service in replacement of this for us to the ski resorts. Breakfast was exceptional, with a different hot breakfast each morning alongside a continental breakfast.

Stayed at Penke Panke lodge for nearly 2 weeks to enjoy Hakuba ski area. The owner & staff was absolutely the highlight of this stay, as they did whatever they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The location of the lodge was also very convenient to walk to Sakka slopes and hit up Happo-One. Penke Panke offered shuttles to supermarkets or other ski resorts whenever it's possible. The morning hot breakfast was fantastic, as I didn't have the same meal twice during my 2 week stay. The facilities was well maintained, and included an organized dry room, laundry machines, cozy lounge, and a nice hot bath. The snow shoveling was adequate and timely, so even if you drove, you don't need to worry about having to dig your car out. Honestly, I've stayed in many much more expensive or high end hotels in the past, but Penke Panke's customer service made this one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.

The shared toilet had heated seats, but a bidet washlets would have been nice.

3 bedroom apartment was really comfortable for my family of 6. Kitchen was well-equipped, had everything we needed and was very clean. Toilet and laundry were all pretty new and worked fine. Living room had a lot of board games to enjoy as a family. And fireplace was real warm for the winter. Beds were super comfy too. Location is about 5min walk to sakka slope which has a bustop for the happo free shuttle bus. And right next door is Koharu which is the bustop for Goryu Immori and Hakuba47. There's a shuttle everyday at 6pm to a huge grocery store if you need supplies too.

Just wished the main door had a little privacy curtain for the door window. Other than that apartment was one of the best we've stayed in hakuba thus far.
