What a fantastic stay at the Kaname Inn! I have to say everything was perfect. I originally planned to stay 5 nights but added on an extra 2 when the weather turned bad, and it was really cozy. The location was excellent within walking distance of the major sites and near lots of restaurants. Easy to get to from the station - only 3 stops on the bus. Every single one of the staff were charming and so helpful. It was lovely to see such friendly welcoming faces every day. My room was spacious and the bed and pillows very comfortable (not hard like other Japanese beds) and had a sofa in it which was excellent for relaxing. There was a minifridge cups and a kettle. The bathroom had a good sized bath. It was all sparkling clean. An added bonus was the bar which had really excellent food and drinks (I got some coupons for drinks for electing not to have my room cleaned thoroughly every day). Plus the DJ played excellent vinyl every night. Finally the price was extremely reasonable. This was my second visit to Kanazawa and my first to Kaname. It won't be my last, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

The only small issue I had was that the bed was very close to the window frame which wasn't well insulated from the cold outside. Nothing the hotel could do about that now its been built! I put a towel along the bottom of the window and that helped a lot.

We loved our stay at Kaname Inn. Great location and right in the middle of shopping/walking street. The staff are superb! The ladies in front desk are so knowledgeable and friendly and greeted us each morning to wish us a nice day. They answered all of our queries about things to do in the area and gave clear instructions on where to find ceramics and art galleries. Also communicated with Soyu to arrange a wonderful tea ceremony. The evenings were relaxing spent listening to great music and eating delicious shared plates and the red wine was divine! We are so grateful to have stayed at Kaname and definitely recommend a stay here.

The staff are very happy to help, and acknowledge you when you enter and leave the building. They have lots of recommendations for activities to do in the area. The room was one of the most spacious that we stayed in within Japan. The attached Kanazawa Music Bar is a lovely spot to eat a filling dinner and grab a nice drink. There are lounging spots outside on the main level, as well as a small area on the 9th floor with 3 chairs - this provides a lovely sunset or nighttime view on a clear night. The location is excellent. It is found on a side street that is quiet despite all of the surrounding shops. Importantly, Kenrokuen Gardens, Kanazawa Castle, and central Downton is walkable. Recommend!

For awareness, the free common areas available for more than one person are largely: a small outdoor balcony on the 9th floor and the outdoor patio on the 1st floor (when the music bar is not open).

I just had a FABULOUS two-night stay at Kaname Inn and I just had to sing its praises. It checked all my boxes--super comfortable, intimate size, spacious bright rooms, clean, great beds, quality bedding, stylish lobby, very thoughtful service and perfectly located. I had arrived on the later side after driving my rental many hours with the last hour+ in a blizzard. Check-in took about two minutes (seriously), they told me I could park two blocks away in a covered garage for a very reasonable rate and then I parked myself at their bar for a tasty meal, creative cocktails and lovely vibe-y music. Perfection! The location is great--on an intimate, boutique lined street and walkable to the samurai district, one of the chaya districts and many great restaurants and coffee. I would happily stay here again.

Loved our stay here in Kanazawa! Great boutique vibes. Every staff we encountered were professional, friendly and helpful. Special mention to Rachel who helped recommend places for coffee and breakfast, and also place for dinner on one of the nights. We stayed in Deluxe Room and our older teens stayed in the Corner Twin Room. Both were spacious, had comfortable beds, clean and well thought out! The music bar was a great place to have a nightcap and listen to DJ play old school vinyls - great drinks and cool vibe. Totally recommend staying here if you are in Kanazawa!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was spotless – the rooms, lobby, and common areas were all exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It’s clear that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything in top shape. I truly appreciated the warm atmosphere and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip!

Easily the best value for money accommodation we used during our 3 week holiday in Japan. The double room we had was MASSIVE and had everything we needed. Staff were lovely and helpful and THE MUSIC BAR! omg this was the best part. The negroni we had here was the best we've ever had, food exceptional and the tunes spinning excellent. Cannot recommend Kaname Inn enough, damn shame we only booked one night here - if you're coming to Kanazawa would def recommend 2/3 nights as we missed out on so much of the other amazing stuff in town and spending more time downstairs at the music bar. Great location and we were able to park our hire car a minutes walk away in a multi level car park too.

Loved the bar and restaurant, such a cool vibe with great music and atmosphere Room was so big - great value for money The staff were really helpful in explaining local areas and food spots to try out Location was very accessible, super close to the bus stop and easy walk to different neighbourhoods I had to extend my stay unexpectedly due to excess snowfall and the staff were very helpful in extending my booking. Loved the eco option of housekeeping (bonus that it came with a voucher at the bar) Would definitely stay here again!!

Kanaka Inn is great. The staff are wonderful, and the vinyl bar in the foyer is an excellent place to hang out. They really know both their drinks and their music! The room, by Japanese standards was huge, and even had a lovely views towards the trees of Kenroku-en! It was spotlessly clean. There were some great places to visit an easy walk away, and great shops along the pedestrian area where the hotel is situated, and beyond. As it was my husband’s birthday while we were there, the staff booked Plat Home in advance for us (highly recommended) and also surprised him with a slice of delicious chocolate birthday cake complete with sparklers in the bar! Wonderful place!

We had such a great time at Kaname Inn! The location is great - kenrokuen, Kanazawa castle, modern art museum and others within walking distance, with restaurants and shopping nearby. Our room was very spacious. The music bar is charming and fun to spend the afternoon or evening. But to me the highlight was the staff - which were very friendly and helpful, with fluent English (this isn’t always trivial in Japan!) and great recommendations. I’d definitely come back if staying in Kanazawa again. We’re a couple & 3YO.
