I've stayed at 6 different hostels during my travels so far and this has been my favorite one. The bed space is nicely laid out with a small lock box and space inside for more than just the futon. This was one of the reasons I booked this place is that many hostels around the same price didn't have any extra space for storage. The bathroom area was also nicer than other hostels I've stayed at. I was also surprised to find out there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers. That's not something that is typically provided in low cost hostels like this. The hangout area also was nice, I just wish it wasn't on another floor. The other thing on why I'm giving this a 9 and not a 10 though is that they don't provide a towel for use during your stay. I feel like for stays of 3 nights or more a rental towel should just come free of charge. No laundry either. These are more just remarks on what would make the stay / feel of the place better. But for the value even without these small items it was definitely worth it. The location was really awesome. It's closely situated to motomachi station and still walking distance to Kobe. There's a shopping street right around the corner as well as a Lawson and 7/11. There's a laundry mat not too far either.

Great value for money for a short stay in Kobe. Staff were helpful, check in was easy, and the shared dorm rooms were comfy and clean. the location was good, not a long walk from Kobe's famous Chinatown as well as the Maritime museum.

Although some amenities like tea and coffee were included, a breakfast option such as toast would have been appreciated; although it was close to the shopping arcade, other than combini-fare I was struggling to find cafes or bakeries to eat at, as many were closed.

I don't know why, but I slept here like I had not in a long time, not waking up once and feeling refreshed. The location is walking distance from stations and near many restaurants, cafĂŠs, shops, etc. The value is better than any other I have found in Kobe and guests in the hostel were quiet and respectful even in the morning. Nice products in the showers.

If they offered towels, maybe with a deposit, it would be even better, it's the only thing missing. WiFi was also very intermittent, kept getting disconnected.

Having a nice evening talk with host and travellers. The host is a adventurer whom go backpacking himself for over 60 countries(hope I remembered it well). The overall design of the hostel is very considering. For example, toilet and bedroom is located with some distance to the rooms, so the 24-hour showering is possible and not affecting other guests, also locker is located besides the bed. I guessed the host has gained experience in his backpack journey and put it in the hostel design. I will stay here again if I go Kobe next time.

It is a bit hot for me at night in the 6-bed dorm, it is nice that I can find a fan in the room to settle with. It would be better to check about the room ventilation.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking with the owner a lot. Great location near Motomachi station, Chinatown, and a large shoutengai. The female dorm room and shower were clean; the common space was generally clean as well but a bit more hit or miss.

There was no onsite coin laundry; you must walk ~7 min. to a coin laundromat by the street.

It's really well organized, close to the train station and the owner, Kazu was so helpful to me. Plenty of room in the fridge and sharp knives to cook with in the kitchen. Yay! I'm surprised how many hostels in Japan have no kitchen, but I was very happy to be able to cook here.

Hardcore rules forcing us all out of the common area at 11:00 p.m., impossible for a late night person who wants to eat, drink and relax and get some work done at night in precious solitude. One of the reviews I read before booking said that the rules were enforced as needed and since I am very quiet at night I thought I would be able to have my late hours without being removed.

Kazu-san was so kind and helpful (ありがとうございます!!) He has travelled extensively so he obviously knows what makes a good hostel. The bed is cozy and bathroom is really clean and nicely appointed. Shower stall may be a bit claustrophobic for some but is a common Japanese hotel style. The kitchen had everything I needed :) A really affordable price too. The location was easy to walk from the train station and is near one of several covered walking streets in Kobe. Things there don’t stay open late though so you’ll have to walk a bit to get to the better bar streets if that interests you.

Quiet time is from 11pm-7am so some people think that’s license to be noisy and talk on the phone or loudly to each other in the room quite early in the morning :( There is no laundry FYI, the nearest laundromat was 800 yen for the quick cycle wash/dry 8kg which wasn’t cheap. 10am check out is always a bit early for me!

The female dorm is cozy and spacious enough. Bed was ample, very comfortable to sleep in and even included a small locker in it. The owner was friendly and helpful too.

Only one shower on the floor and can’t use the lounge area after 23pm as the dorms are just right next to it. It’s understandable but if you want to socialise a bit more it may be a challenge

It was probably the best accommodation (among hostels) I stayed in Japan. It’s squeaky clean, comfy, and very quiet at night. I was very tired after an early flight hustle, but I slept for around 14 hours without interruption. The staff is Japanese but he speaks very good English. He was so friendly and sociable that we also had a small chat about my country that he had visited long ago.

It’s about splitting hairs but I would only mention the wifi only when I tried to watch something on Netflix. It was interrupted sometimes but again it didn’t bother me much.

Excellent staff! Fantastic English and super comfortable beds. We stayed in a 2 bedroom private room instead of the dorm, and it was clean, comfortable, and a well priced stay. Fantastic location about a 10 minute walk from the ocean and a lovely strip of shops right next door. Hands down, the best part of our stay was the owner! Super charismatic, fun, and extremely helpful. After adventuring in kobe he was always super attentive and keen on listening to us. Felt like staying with a friend!
