・A bit expensive ・Location has its cons - hotel is located in the shopping arcade with many pachinko parlors, bars etc, so there are many noisy and drunk people around when walking back to the hotel in the evening ・No view from the window - glass is not transparent

Check-in: via the self-check in counter (3 -4 counters opened), which also dispenses breakfast coupons. The counter had language selections (english, chinese etc.) and you can pay by card. There is a staff available if you have questions. Room: stayed on the 11 th floor, highest floor for the building. Towels and toiletries are provided. But rest of the amenities (coffee tea, shower cap, razor etc.) can be collected next to the front desk for no charge. This is great as it reduces waste. Room was 22 m2 which is very spacious for the two of us. We could lay out our 2 medium-sized luggage (25-27 inches each) and have ample walking space. The bed is large and comfortable, TV is large, toilet is well-equipped, table and 2 chairs, fridge are provided. The view from the room was great. Location: great location, area was not sketchy. It was just next to the shopping district (local shopping area and a mall Sakuramachi about a 10-15 mins was away) hence there were MANY food options, including a convenience store below the hotel. The nearest tram station is Karashimacho (red line) which links directly to Kumamoto ekimae station. Breakfast: very good spread of largely local Kumamoto food (including Tapi'en noodle soup, lotus root stuffed with mustard etc.). Breakfast is about $13, very worth it. Coffee/ Tea can be packaged to to-go at no extra cost after your meal.

Room: there were 2 pillows provided upon check-in. One was harder, the other softer. Go for the sturdier pillow, it is more comfortable. We had to call the front desk at 9 pm to request for a harder pillow.

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast menu and dining facility was above average and the staff were very accomodating. The elevator was fast and there was clothes washers and dryers available. There is a covenience store very close by and plenty of shopping and eateries within walking distance. Windows open to allow fresh air.

There is no view from the window. There were no water bottles provided in the room. The TV has no English channels unless using Youtube etc.

The hotel was recently built as a new hotel, very clean, good facilities, the TV can turn on Netflix as well and can stream from a mobile phone and then up to the TV screen. The location of the accommodation is very good because it is only a short walk to shopping street, and the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, but you can park in the parking lot next to it, which has a discount. When checking in. You have to do it all yourself, which is very convenient.

Since I was traveling with 3 people, 1 extra bed was required, making the room quite tight and with no place to put my luggage.

We've booked two rooms that are adjacent and adjoining and was perfect for our use. Bed and Pillows are comfortable. Room were clean and more spacious than your normal Japanese room. Room were up to date and can't fault it. Amenities were plenty just grab extras if you need them from the reception. Location is sport on if shopping street is your thing.

Hmm not much , except the breakfast was plain and redundant, wish they would change their menu on daily basis. As we stayed 2 days and food was mediocre at most and could have been better.

The rooms were comparatively large and very comfortable. Good sized bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. Double glazing blocked pretty much all noise when the window was closed. Unable to hear very much from adjoining rooms. Proximity to Shimotori without too much of the noise.

Check in process was a bit convoluted. Air conditioning was restricted to a minimum of 20C which isn't ideal for cold sleepers, we ended up sleeping with the window open every night.

The location right next to all the shops and restaurants in Shimotori is great! The hotel itself is very comfortable and well equipped, especially for having quite a basic and affordable format. Feels new. We had a twin room which is very spacious for this kind of hotel in Japan. Would definitely stay here again - recommended!

Just a minor inconvenience: the coin laundry is no good. The machines can only take 3 kilograms of clothes at a time even though they have enough room to fit much more, and when I put in 3.5 kg, it didn't get clean at all. So I did it again in two halves, which worked OK. Bit of a waste of time. I suspect they set up the machines to use very little detergent, just something to keep in mind. I still recommend the hotel in general.

Perfect location within easy walking distance of the bus station, most of it under a covered shopping avenue, restaurants available in the neighbourhood, had breakfast close-by but not at the hotel, also good.

The automated check-in process proved challenging, we did not sample the hotel breakfast so can’t comment, a rather soulless hotel, but clean and well run in a good location

the hotel facilities are well upgraded, such as with smart TV, washing machines are clean. Hotel is just next to shopping alleys, 7-11, family mart.

Setback is need to take tram to reach this hotel from Kumamoto JR station. No bottled water provided in the room daily. Towels are not changed daily unless you indicate on the door. We hanged the soiled towels outside the door but did not change by cleaner, maybe they miss to see it.

Felt like a new hotel. We had connecting rooms, spacious, there was extra space even with luggage all open. Bed was very comfortable. Very conveniently located right next to main shopping street. Generally no real complain about this hotel for this price point.

Didn't have a place to stop the car along the road for dropoff and unloading of luggage. Public carpark is about 5 mins away, 1100Y for overnight parking
