Brilliant location, especially if you like wandering around. Also, it was super clean and the separate bathroom /toilet set up in my room was very practical. Overall a very comfortably stay at a great place . Washing machines were very handy too!

Not really a dislike, but the rooms are typically compact. So you just have to adjust. If you’re doing work, there’s no chsir/desk But my improvised stand-up was very effective!

Very convenient location, right next to Lawson's as well. Staff was very helpful. Washing machines give you options to wash and dry for 500yen and takes about 2 hours. Overall aesthetic was nice and homey. I got the room with the tatami floor mats and was happy with it. Shower had ample space.

I did wish that they provided us with a table or some sort of small desk for us to use but we still did good without it and provided the room mightve been too small to fit one.

Beautiful, new rooms. All tastefully decorated. The location is excellent. You can walk to the most popular tourist attractions of Gion. At night this street transforms- suddenly open bars, clubs, lots of people, and lively activity. During the day, everything is very calm.

this is a very busy place in Kyoto. We stayed in another Kyoto hotel closer to the city centre, in a residential area, so the sudden rush of Gion people, especially in the restaurant streets, didn't seem so disturbing. I'm glad we had both these experiences not just this one.

- The bathroom is so big and comfortable. Bath tub + shower. There are so many amenities: tooth brush, hair brush, lotions, facial creams, bath salts/milk, shower cap, hair ties etc. - Very nice interior design - I don’t understand the complaints about the room being too bright. They provide you with black sleeping masks. I didn’t even use those and slept very well. Because it wasn’t even that bright, it’s very quiet and the bed is big and comfortable. - 2 bottles of water per day. There’s free coffee and tea. - the staff help you with forwarding your luggage using the Yamato Service. Was so easy

- the elevator is quite small and stops at the lobby each time

Clean and quiet hotel in Gion, close to many restaurants, bars, convenient stores, the river, etc. Very accurate photos so we felt like we got exactly what we expected. Easy check in and low-touch hotel in general (no breakfast, coin laundry).

Our TV was mounted just to the side of the bed in an extremely awkward position; every time one of us got out of the bed, we hit (or almost hit) the TV.

Really liked the style of the room, it was a bit modern mixed with Japanese heritage, such as the 'bedroom' part of the room was elevated and had tatami like flooring. Also liked that the toilet and bath was separate. The bathroom also had a 'dryer' setting, so after washing our clothes in the laundry, we hung our clothes in the bathroom for a fuller dry.

Not a lot of washing machines available and they are dual with dryers, so it didn't completely dry our clothes.

- Very convenient location. Close to train station, sightseeing places, shops, and food - Bathroom was very big, nice array of toiletries including face wash, ear plugs, eye mask - Bed was super hard, which is good for my husband but not as good for me

- Front desk person was not super comfortable speaking English, though he was polite. The booking shows up for the hotel under the names of the people in the rooms, not the person booking, so that took a little bit of back and forth to figure out - Front door/lobby is a little hard to find. The grey portion of the building that juts out and has a door facing the street is actually a restaurant on the 1st floor. There is a door further back with an elevator telling you that the lobby is on the 2nd floor

Location was excellent in the historic geisha district. The area surrounding the Hotel was lively and had interesting temples and other things to see. The subway station connecting to Kyoto's main station was about an 8 minute walk away. The room size by Japanese standards was pretty good. Compared to the shoe boxes I stayed in Tokyo and Osaka, it was nice to have a bit more room. The bathroom also had a heater where you could dry your clothes after washing them. So you could save money on the laundry if you were minded to wash your own clothes. The wifi was excellent.

A bit more room would have been nice as it was still a small room. However, as I said above, this room was still bigger than most rooms for Japanese standards. So can't complain too much about that.

the hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from the metro station.Its in a side street but right in the heart of Gion . everything you would want to see in Gion is on the doorstep. The room was nice, great shower & cleaned everyday. The staff where always there & are happy to help with anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends

location was great and a short walk from the subways. we used the coin laundry they had which had numerical code locks and English instructions on them. it was great to have fresh cloths for the second half of our trip! the room was tight but had everything we could’ve needed and a nice large bed that was comfortable. they were a low staff place but if that contributed to the low cost it was a fair trade. when i say this place was clean i mean it was spotless and smelled good and was dry.

i could’ve used a little more help from the staff to book some reservations while we stayed in Kyoto as our phone wouldn’t allow us to make any phone calls to do it ourselves.
