The room itself was clean and larger than I was expecting. The staff were very nice and helpful. It was nice having laundry facilities on the top floor. And although it was raining during my stay, the rooftop terrace is nice. Very close to Kiyomizu-dera. Close to bus stop with many buses always running

The location was relatively out of the way from the subway and we had to rely on buses as the main mode of transportation around Kyoto which was slightly inconvenient as the buses were very busy and full. The bathroom also had a sewer smell every so often

Lovely staff made the stay very pleasant. They were always ready to help with explanations, umbrellas or extra pillows, and friendly greetings. They also dealt efficiently with receiving and sending our luggage to Tokyo. Amenities include a very useful laundry room; a free hot/cold drinks machine and a small kitchen in the lobby; and a terrace with chairs on the top floor. Location is good too (half an hour's walk from Kyoto train station, but close to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera temple).

The rooms are small and basic with a very compact bathroom (not a luxury hotel!). But still contained everything we needed

The hotel is situated in the traditional neighborhood of Sannenzaka, just a small walk to Kyomizudera. There are many souvenir shops around, food stalls and sweets, so there are plenty of options for a quick bite. Even after they close at 18:00( yes quite early), there is a convenience store just a couple of minutes away. There is also microwave at the lobby where you can heat up food and eat it in your room or at the lobby tables. The room itself was spotless and spacious for Japanese standards. The bathroom was equipped with a new age toilet ( the one we all love) and shower products. I really liked the bed, which was very firm, but if you don’t, you can ask for a topper or extra pillows. If you want to go the center of the town or to the train station, there is a bus stop just a minute away. Finally, the people at the reception were the stars of this hotel. Very polite, friendly and helpful, ready to accommodate our every need. They will also store your luggage, if you have a late flight and give you cookies when you check out!

The wifi on the 3rd floor was quite bad😢

Within walking distance to Kiyomizudera temple. The bus system in Kyoto is quite good, and a bus stop is very close to the hotel. You can conviently buy a bus day-pass at the reception (after 8am, so plan accordingly). There is big louge area where you can eat/drink (or read the large collection of manga if you are into that). We were presented with a water bottle as welcome gift, and a Kyoto-themed cookie as send-off sovenir, which is nice touch.

Maybe make the roof laundry available to use during the evening?

A delightful hotel. The staff were very nice. We appreciated the free coffee & filtered water in the lobby. We also enjoyed using the roof terrace. The coin laundry was helpful as well. The location was good for the activities we wanted to do. The room itself was a good temperature and very clean.

Luggage storage isn't free, but I can understand that -- space is limited. We used coin lockers at the train station instead.

Convenient location to Kiyomizu temple and the district leading up to the temple. Easy access to public transport (bus route down the road). There were English speaking staff that helped with our smooth check-in in. They also offered luggage delivery servi, es so we had ours shipped to this location and used their shipping services to ship it to our next location. Ground floor had amenities needed, including free warm/cold drinks from their dispenser. Comfort wise for the room - spacious and had everything you needed. Beds are firm however wasn't too much of an issue for us. Washing machine and dryer available upstairs to use as well. Would stay here again if we come back to Kyoto!

- Room: Super spacious and clean! - Location: Bus stop that connects to Kyoto station is 5 mins away. There are 2 rental kimono shops right beside the hotel. There is udon/shave ice restaurant located in front of the hotel. 15 min walk to the Yasaka pagoda. Great location because it's located near the bottom of the hill so you won't be hauling your luggage for a long time to get to the hotel. - Staff: Super nice and helpful! They gave us a parting cooking gift on check out. And they even asked if we had an umbrella when it was raining (super thoughtful staff!) - Ammenities: The terrace is awesome, especially on a sunny afternoon looking at Kiyomizu-dera. The drink machine had a very tasty lemon water drink haha. All in all, great hotel and would stay again! Thank you Terrace Kiyomizu!

- The laundry area is located on the terrace floor. At night, the terrace is not well lit (the surrounding area is pitch black too), so it was "creepy" to do laundry at night. There are security cameras in the terrace however. - The bus stop nearest the hotel is always PACKED going to and from the hotel (tourists). This isn't the hotel's fault but it's something to keep in mind if you'll be using the bus with big luggages.

Hotel: was clean, cozy, quiet, spacious and decorations was lovely. Amenities was perfect as well Location was too far from subway. Only dislike because we are not familiar with the bus. Summary. Super highly recommend it. We were so sad to leave. We loved this place so much! The friendly and approachable staff were the highlight, they became like friends and were so helpful. Even the cleaning staff were so friendly. Excellent location, right in the heart of historical Kyoto, the value was incredible. Just a short walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple, and lots of cafes around. A family mart is just 10 mins away. The rooftop view is just beautiful at night and the rooms are so very clean. We loved this place so much! We want to stay here again!

The room was more spacious than we expected, compared to other places we had stayed in Japan. It was clean and the bathroom was modern with a nice bath. The hotel had a nice rooftop terrace with views over Kyoto. There was a drinks machine in the lobby which was free to use. Staff were friendly and accommodating and let us check in slightly early. You can leave your luggage there before or after check in if needed.

The bed was quite firm. The hotel was located on a road that can get very busy with coaches during the day.
