Great location, only a few minutes walk from the station. It's also near the grocery store to get some cheap bentos. There's a microwave on the first floor you can use. The room was very clean. The staff was very nice and were able to provide us whatever we needed. Free breakfast included. We were on the 4th floor, which had a beautiful view of the town and the mountains.
The room is a bit small, but that's to be expected in Japan. I wish breakfast hours were a bit longer for those who wake up a bit later. The same breakfast is served everyday, could be nice to have some variety. The laundry machines were out of service.

The staff of Nikko Station 2 were exceptionally helpful and hospitable, even helping me maya reservation at a nearby izakaya. (A later hotel had posted signage saying staff would not make any reservations.) The location was ideal for us, about 6 minutes from the station and buses, and close to a variety of restaurants. The shrine was a straightforward easy walk from the hotel. Our room looked on yo the mountain sunrise which was spectacular.
Many complain the breakfast is basic. In this case that means one is handed a tray with a hard cooked egg, a small bowl of salad with 2 small slices of ham, 2 slices of white bread (toasters are available), a small white bun, a single jam serving and the same with margarine. There is a sign stating that as of April one person can only have one tray. There are jugs of a vegetable juice, milk and water. Tea and coffee are available. So, yes, pretty basic. The room was very minimal (extra blankets are available) and the towels were thin with wear.

Great hotel for a short stay in Nikko, good quality for the price paid. The hotel was quite basic with a small room but it was very clean and overlooked the city/mountains. Same for the bathroom, it was clean but quite tight. Breakfast was basic but decent with a fixed breakfast each morning containing an egg, toast and a salad. Very good connection to the different activities in Nikko with its proximity to the station.
Would have loved more breakfast options as it was pretty basic but understandable if this keeps the cost low.

Near the station. Walkable distance to the nearby supermarket and convenient stores. Provide simple breakfast and drinks in the lobby. Shops in Nikko generally close early, so take note of the time. Hotel provides maps on food and shop suggestions with opening hours.
Went during mid nov, they will turn on the heater after 9pm or 10pm so not able to control the temperature of the room to cold air. Luckily, we are able to open the window to let the cold air outside to enter the room (we like our room to be in cool condition). It's not a big issue.

I like the location super close and easy to find from the tobu nikko station. When you go to Nikko all the main attractions are quiet far, especially because is crowded and there is a lot of traffic. Being in Nikko town allows you to get easy transportation to everywhere. The Hotel is okay. Not luxury but good enough thinking that you will spend most of the time outside. For me the most important is : safe, close to restaurants and transport, complementary breaksfast, free coffee and vending machines plus microwave and the rooms are alright not to small compare to other places. Staff was nice they seemed busy but is really nice that they allow to leave you luggage.
Could have better amenities, but in general was fine. Honestly is a great place to stay.

This hotel was so great! We had a lovely room on the top floor with a clear view of the mountains and could even see the roof of Rinno-ji! Everything was clean and well maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size for two people. The staff were so wonderful and helpful and held our luggage for us before check in. The front desk staff spoke English very well and explained all of the amenities when we arrived. The location is a very convenient 3 minute walk from tobu-nikko station, making this the ideal hotel if you arrive direct from Tokyo. We also enjoyed the simple complementary breakfast that got us off to a very convenient start each day. 10/10 stay, excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Nikko for a few days, especially if you can book a room on the top floor!
Nothing! We had a wonderful stay here and loved our time in Nikko!

The location was great - just a couple of blocks away from the train station. The staff kindly provided me a coin locker free of charge to temporarily store my luggage after check-out. The room was cheap. There was actually complementary breakfast, contrary to the room description. Two pillows.
The breakfast selection was limited, fixed, and not vegetarian- or Muslim-friendly at all - The salad bowl included slices of ham. The curtains did not block sunlight. Would've liked a glass/cup with a spoon in the room.

The property was very clean and cleaning staff were always so polite and friendly as well as the reception staff in handling queries. I had no problems at all other than a minor problem with the AC, it does switch off by itself at times. The location is brilliant and is conveniently located near a supermarket called Lion D’or and a convenience store - family mart. Within east walking distance there a plenty of restaurants and street foods nearby the train station.
Just a minor problem with the AC turning off by itself, I made sure I had the windows open as well so I wouldn’t feel too hot, but this was the only problem I had.

Location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. Arriving before check in, staff will store your bags securely and give you a ticket to retrieve it. Our room on the 4th floor had an incredible view of the mountains. The room is actually quite spacious and equipped with everything you would expect - TV, fridge, kettle, mirror, reading light, chair, coat hanger, etc. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. There is an included breakfast, but can't comment as we never tried it.
Only issue would be the hardness of the bed and pillows, but after asking for an additional pillow I had a much better sleep the second night.

Great location. Not on the station as I imagined it would be, but you can easily walk it. Right down the road from a relatively big groceries store. Close to the main road near plenty of restaurants. But far enough away from any bustle. Was a clean place. The bathroom is typically small but also clean with decent shampoo and the like. Have the option to define the kind of cleaning service you want on check-in. The room has a good amount of space for our two open bags. Of course, the staff is very kind and helpful. There are coin lockers and the option to leave your bags in the lobby prior to check-in. Breakfast was also included; had a wonderful curry with rice, there is some nice toast and my partner whom loves miso soup thoroughly enjoyed theirs. I'd book it again.
No coffee or tea in the rooms nor complimentary water. But there is a complimentary warm drink in the lobby.
