As a tourist, We love the traditional Japanese style rooms, we think they are more comfortable and more spacious than the average western style rooms in Japan. The space was quiet and restful while still being a great location for shopping and the JR station. We had a great time checking out the permanent artist market at 2K540 right across the street.
This is a good priced hotel and we had no issues bad enough to keep us from staying here again but.. The bathroom was a hassle as the shower was old and there was no way to keep it from soaking the bathroom which made using the toilet without getting your feet wet a real challenge. This is an especially tiny bathroom with no space to place things like makeup/hair brush/toothbrush while getting ready. The bedding/towels have obviously been around for awhile..so they were weathered but they were clean.

First in foremost the location is Superb, very near to Lawson Grocery, Local Authentic Japanese Restaurant, Train Station, Shopping area Akihabara and Ueno Market which we enjoy the most. Secondly we came late around 11pm, but we are so surprised when we reached the place in the main entrance you we found a welcome letter addressed personally to me with an instruction on how to do the self checked in. No hassle in checking in late. The room was so clean and organized as what Japanese are well known of. All the toiletries are provided like towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and disposable shaving razor. Internet connection are strong, we love the traditional Japanese house set up with Futon Mattress and Tatami Mats. My kids enjoy every aspect of our room from the bed to windows and door; It so Japanese. Lastly they allow us to checkout late as 4PM because we got a late flight back to our home country. All the staffs are respectful, can speak English and so helpful. Definitely we are coming back and we will recommend this place to our friends and relatives. Highly recommended!! Overall 9/10 rating for this Hotel/Inn.
Warning only if you are Senior Citizen or Person with Disability this type of set up are not suitable for you. Unless they have rooms for this type of guest. The sound of the train are bit annoying but still acceptable. If you are sensitive to noise try to search for a hotel that are far from the train station.

Our family of four stayed at this hotel during part of our vacation to Japan. At first, I was on the fence at staying in a traditional Japanese hotel, but after comparing prices, I booked the Akihabara Nakagawa Inn. The hotel is well situated in the side skirts of the Akihabara area within a comfortable walking distance to a handful of metro stations. Along with a Lawson that is caddy corner to the hotel, there are many eateries and convenience stores close by. Our room was on the larger side of a lot of hotel rooms in Japan, but not as spacious at depicted on the website. The room consisted of two areas divided by a sliding screen wall, small entry way for shoes and a bathroom with a bathtub. The room had four foldable futon mats that were not too friendly on the back and a traditional Japanese floor table that we used to hold luggage. Other amenities included toothbrushes, mini fridge, tea set, blow drier, bidet, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There are no actual curtains in the room, only a tissue paper like sliding screen - mind you the sun comes up around 4 a.m. I will say that the room was exceptionally clean! Albeit very tiny, the restroom was spotless. I really can't find anything wrong with the hotel, it was just too traditional for me.
I really can't find anything wrong with the hotel, it was just too traditional for me. The futons are not bad back friendly and not having a chair to sit it was challenging.

Place is very good, situated very near to Akihabara and different train stations. The room is exactly as in the photos. Is clean, spacious and has all you need to stay a full family of 4. Everyday water is provided as well as room cleaning. In general is a very good option to try sleeping on futon with the minimal furniture at a great price.
There are no breakfast or dining options. Staff english skills are limited. Last night there was some party going around until 2am but as there is no staff past 9pm, there was no chance to complain. Next morning on check out, I complained and they asked me if I wanted to return a power plug, so there's that for english. Even these inconveniences, the hotel is very good option.

Location very near to ameyoko market. Near to convenience store and cafes. Affordable price.
A little bit noisy maybe depends on your room location. But it's understandable due to its proximity to train line. Room has no window.

Nice little room with comfortable beds. The bathroom is clean and has all the necessary toiletries and amenities that one could ever ask for. The staff was helpful and kind as well.
The wi-fi could be a bit spotty at times.

AMAZING location - an easy walk from Akihabara and Ueno, with multiple transit stations close by for easy access to the rest of Tokyo. The room was a reasonable size for 2 people, and the bathroom was small but well appointed - a good shower and bath with a bidet toilet. Train noise was present during the stay, but we didn't find it disturbed our sleep. Staff were very helpful, and there's a Yamato Transport office right next door for luggage forwarding. Very close to multiple restaurants, and an easy walk from several 24/7 shops (Lawson and Don Quijote). Microwaves available for Konbini meals if needed! Make sure to check out the craft shops right across the road when you're there! We missed it until our last day.
Free drinking water was available, but had to be requested from staff during the reception's open hours (9am-9pm) - if you're planning on being out early and home late like we were, make sure to buy some water and keep it in the fridge!

Fantastic location, convenient to get to many popular locations and tourist attraction's near by. Very close walking distance to Akihabara Electric down, Ueno Ameyoko shopping street, etc. There are also many restaurants and cafes around the hotel to choose from. Short walk to get to either Akihabara station or Okachimachi Station from the hotel. The property is located on the Yamanote train line which makes getting around Tokyo easy and fast, saving you lots of travel time.
Staying in a traditional Japanese style room was a great experience, but I found sleeping on the futon for many nights a bit uncomfortable. The futons are thin, so if you have back issues or you're not use to sleeping on hard surfaces, you may find it a bit tough sleeping on the floor. There is one extra futon in the cupboard though, which I used to double up on the bedding. This helped improve the comfort level somewhat.

This place is a gem! Just a 2–3-minute walk and you’ll find yourself in a buzzing area full of restaurants, bars where locals hang out, and tons of shopping options. The rooms are super cozy with a 100% Japanese vibe—futon beds on tatami floors, super clean and warm. The downside? The walls aren’t soundproof, so mornings can get a bit noisy if guests are checking out. The staff are helpful enough and can speak English pretty well. All in all, totally worth it for the price, especially if you want a real Japanese-style experience in a prime spot!
