nice location, friendly staff, has everything you need and is clean and well maintained
if you're a light sleeper and they put you on level 6 ask to change to a lower floor as the reception and common room are on level 7 so you will be kept awake until late into the night

Comfortable clean bed with good privacy. Good communal space and adequate kitchen. Very secure baggage storage
As other people have mentioned there is only one elevator and it is rather slow. But not a problem unless you really care about that. Tiny lockers in dorms but that is normal for a dorm / hostel.

Loved how big the kitchen was. There were three different stovetops and cooking/plate sets. So multiple people could make food at the same time. Saved a lot of money on this stay cooking. Staff was exceptional! Seriously one of the receptionists spent about an hour and half with me going thru some difficult motorcycle rentals that I was trying to set up. So thank you Misaki for helping me finally get that done! You were a life saver. Location was good, very close to subway/train station.
Process was mostly smooth during my stay but I did get stuck out of my dorm room momentarily the last night I was there. Had to get help getting back in my room as it appeared the passcode was changed without me getting a notification. But everything was smoothed out and I was able to sleep easy after a short wait. Bewarned the lighting in the bunks are pretty bright. I didn't check to see if the light switch had multiple settings to dim it or not but the standard setting was a little intense at night so I usually just went to bed right away instead of reading.

I really liked the location and staff. They were very helpful and they really took good care of us. The process of everything was fairly easy and quick. I also like the ambience of the common area. It was a Japanese tatami experience and thought that was pretty cozy. Not to mention the kitchen was super cute and clean!
I guess this is something out of their control, but I believe this place is not suited for families with young children. Yes, they do have their own space but as soon as they get into the common room, it might be uncomfortable for guests especially when they’re the type that’s young, traveling with friends or solo like me. Even thought we have separate rooms, I remember going in and out of my floor every time and hearing parents yell and hit at their children or children crying (not all the families do this). It’s not only bothersome but it pains me to hear children being yelled at or hit at was too much. And the families that are not so abusive tend to just let their kids run around and do whatever they wanted like running in the common room.

The size of the two-bed room is very generous for the price! Location is a comfortable 10 minute walking distance from both Ryogoku stations (there are two stations operated by different train companies). Luggage storage is available at the reception floor at a competitive price.
Initially, we were unable to set our room aircon to 'warm room 暖房' that is, heater mode. Luckily the reception staff was extremely helpful, he did not know how to solve it at first but asked around and realised there is a central power switch he needs to turn on for us.

Staff were excellent, the facilities were perfect, and the location I found to be brilliant. This place has everything you need for a great stay in Tokyo, and you can get to both airports via public transport pretty easily from here!
No fault of the hostel, but if you're in a shared dorm, don't expect some people to read the instructions on the bathroom/in the bunks. Someone clogged the in-room toilet with too much paper on two separate occasions, despite signs saying not to use too much paper... Otherwise, really excellent!

I liked the location, it is only a short walk from Ryogoku station, and it is only minutes away from some convenience stores, restaurants and even a Daiso. I appreciated that check in was quick and easy with the staffs help, and was happy with the comfort of the bed. too. I didn't spend time in the common area space but what I saw of it looked nice. So if I have a chance to stay here again in the future then I'd like to talk to more of the other guests and the staff members. I also wanted to mention when checking out how great the staff were with another guest who was unable to speak english or Japanese. They did their best through translation apps and gestures to communicate though it must have been hard for them. I think the customer service and atmosphere here is really good.
There didn't seem to be any free wifi, or at least not in the room I was staying in. I imagine in other parts of the hostel there are but in any case it was not much of an issue, just a little inconvenient sometimes. I also noticed that both the shower room and toilet are in the same room as the dormitory beds. So this meant I sometimes heard noise and sounds during the time I was staying in the room before going out or going to sleep. It was fine overall but is something to be aware of.

Big spaces for nice price in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the hostel was really nice, the rooms were lovely and the dining room even better. Close to trains, buses and subways and located in the Sumo neighbourhood, Ryogoku. Totally recommended to walk around the train station.
Although they waited us until 12am, after 10pm check-in is charged and after 12 you can’t check in, so in our experience, that our flight was delayed, it was a little stressful to try to be on time. Also the hotel didn’t have luggage delivery, but you can do it with the convini next block. To sum up, the disadvantages aren’t an issue if we compare them with all the good things that the hostel offers.

Clean and cozy! They also have two train stations nearby that get you anywhere within 30 minutes. Quieter more local area which is also worth exploring as it has loads of nice sushi and ramen bars nearby but not so busy with tourists. Local shops nearby. Lovely smoking area and eating/working space area. There are lockers for small items, not for big backpacks. Staff speak English. I didn’t use it but there’s a sauna on the ground floor. Nice environment. There’s lots of places for you to hang your stuff to dry, such a plus! Bedrooms with 10 beds have one shower and one toilet in the room but 3 sinks, which is handy.
Not a social place, for some reason. Travellers and locals just don’t want to hang out. Very little toilets. It wasn’t a big issue but one shower for 10 people is not a lot and there’s one toilet in the bedroom and one in the corridor to share with all other rooms, that’s not enough, it’s a bit stressful if you need to take your time. It was still easy to manage though! One thing that definitely should change is the staff coming into the bedroom at 10am to hoover. That’s way too early, specially if you’re recovering from a long flight and need extra sleep. Check ins are quite late so there’s no need for staff to hoover at 10am.

It was very clean!! The staff cleaned the bathroom properly everyday. The kitchen and common area was also nice and good for getting things done in between or just socializing and chatting with others. There’s a family mart and daiso close by and ryogoku station is only a quick walk away where there is also a bunch of restaurants. I really liked my stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
The lockers really are quite small so my laptop didn’t fit and I felt a little uneasy about just leaving it in my bed under the blanket but since you can only enter the room with a passcode I thought it would be safe. In the end, it didn’t get stolen or anything so all good. The only thing that was slightly inconvenient was that it takes around 45 min to get to Shibuya/Harajuku/Shinjuku. Since I ended up spending a lot of time in these areas I spent a lot of time taking the metro but I couldn’t have known that before so it’s not really a minus. Would still recommend this hostel.
