Everything was amaazing! As it was our honeymoon, we´ve received a surprise in our room, the room was everything, sauna, bad, shower, jacuzzi, bed was huge, lounge, breakfast, our tea room, just wow and amazing, and the hotel/staff itself was wow. the JR station was only 5 min walk from the hotel. It was the perfect ending of our honeymoon

What a place! Not just a hotel but a centre for events with lovely ‘gardens’ to explore and waterfalls to watch. Beautiful art work everywhere. Food choices were excellent and catered for vegetarian and the service was excellent. Staff were so polite, helpful, professional. Our room was luxurious and spacious. We highly recommend.

Nothing!

Very artistic and traditional decor throughout the hotel. Spacious room with every need satisfied. I really like the Japanese culture oozed in every corner of the hotel, makes you really enjoy staying in the hotel and explore. But because it’s traditional, a lot of rules are applied.

Location is not convenient for tourists. But it’s located in a nice and peaceful area in Tokyo. Swimming pool and gym is in another building and it requires booking. People under the age 16 and people with tattoos are forbidden which is a bit annoying for us (we didn’t use the facilities during our stay). Kimono service is not of good value. Only 3 choices and quality is not premium. They only provide the basic kimono(浴衣)and no make up and hair styling service included. A simple hair decoration for rent is 550.

We loved the hotel for its location, hospitality and on top of that for its history where the original building now is being preserved as a museum, Hyakudan Kaidan(The Hundred Stairs) attached to it. It is a destination for traditional Japanese culture and luxury. Hotel Gajoen is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Japan. This hotel offers art and culture with modernity. We loved the Executive Lounge and were very fortunate to be invited there! The staff at the lounge were very attentive and knowledgeable. The art on the walk along the ¼ mile path to the reception for check-in is mesmerizing. The hotel is situated along the famous/romantic of Meguro River which is one of the best sight to observe cherry blossoms in Spring.

Just a minor thing---I love a hotel which has gym facilities. We just couldn't locate it because it is offsite and confusing to find.

The art in the hotel was beautiful representation of Japanese art, and uniquely available in a hotel and the key identity of the hotel. While rated as a 4 star hotel in terms of facilities, its customer service is more of a 6 star hotel. The staff take personal pride in being part of this hotel. It’s a hotel that ranks easily amongst the very best hotels that I have had the privilege of staying in. Excellent value for the price.

Nil, aside from possibly having a fitness centre, though that may not fit well with the rest of the hotel.

Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is an exceptional property. The entry is spectacular with water features, Japanese art and furniture decorating the way. Our large (80 sq m) Japanese style room was beautifully equipped in every respect. There are an array of excellent restaurants which we frequented including Canoviano for Italian cuisine, Tofutei for Japanese, Kanade Terrace and Cafe/Lounge, Pandora. All excellent value for money with superb service. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Tokyo, a short walk from Meguro station. Hospitality at the hotel is extraordinary. We will stay again as soon as the opportunity arises.

There is little we can fault about this property since it exceeded our expectations. Perhaps a significant discount offer for return guests? Another suggestion would be a selection of self-guided walks in the district.

The property is situated in a beautiful area in Meguro. Great for morning walks or jog. Base coffee around the corner is amazing. Lots of eateries on the main strip of Meguro. The staff at the hotel are absolutely great and lot of them speak English and if they don’t they always try to help you with a big smile. Lounge access is fabulous special after a big day out in Shibuya it’s nice to come back for an evening cocktail or sake. We will definitely be staying here again.

Probably the best hotel experience we've ever had, and we are seasoned travelers. Staff is unbelievably friendly and gracious, going out of their way to assist us with everything (including calling the elevator for you!). Amazing breakfast including cooked to order items, HUGE rooms (we booked and executive suite that could sleep six even though there were only three in the room), executive club access for tea, happy hour, and night caps with open bar, coffee/tea service, hors d'oeuvres. Regular shuttle bus service to nearest train station. All for WAY less than you would pay for comparable accommodations elsewhere in Tokyo.

The hotel itself was very nice to stay in and the staff were some of the most friendly I have ever come across, would especially like to mention Ayumi who took care of us from the moment we arrived and made sure we had a good time. Olesya was also extremely helpful but once again Ayumi was delightful to deal with.

A room for smoking or balcony would have been better or even a more up to date smart television
