We liked how the Hotel was directly connected to Sunshine City Mall which also led to a pathway to Higashi Ikebukuro train station! This made it very convenient for us to shop and catch the train without needing to go outside. There was also a 24 hour convenience store behind the lobby of the hotel which made it easy to buy essentials and snacks!

It was great in general, our room was just a bit small but other than that, everything was really good!

The view is very nice and the windows are very clean!

Sometimes when returning to the hotel in the evening TOO MANY TOURISTS crowding around the elevator area making it difficult to get onto the elevator.

Room was relatively big for Japanese standards - we did pay a slight premium for the larger/higher floor room compared to other double rooms in the hotel. There was a little sofa and enough space around it to open our 2 big luggage bags. Great city view as well. Very clean bathroom and room. I love shopping at Sunshine City so for me the location was perfect - hotel is connected to the mall on most levels. From the mall there is a semi-sheltered walkway to Higashi-Ikebukuro station (about 10mins) and similar distance (although outdoors) to the JR Ikebukuro station. The airport buses to Narita stop at this hotel. Great room size and location relative to hotels around other major tourist spots like Shibuya/Shinjuku. There is a large FamilyMart in the hotel ground floor as well!

Relatively expensive for the area, but I felt it was worth the convenience. Front desk gets quite busy as there are often conferences in the hotel and subculture events going in the mall, with lots of local and foreign attendees.

Right at sunshine city 60 so can enjoy all the attractions and convience it has to offer. 5 minutes walking distance to most subways. We ordered a lot of goods from amazon and reception area was helpful. It stores the luggages for us on the last day and the shuttle bus to HND airport stops right in front of the hotel ( which they can book it for you or you can book it online).

Room is a bit small. We had two single beds which is layout vertically. Didnt leave much room for large luggages although the bathroom is a reasonable size and the tub.

Great view from the upper floors over the city. I could have stared out my window for hours. Also, the room was rather spacious compared to other hotels in Tokyo. Great for re-packing and organising luggage before flying home. Location was practical with its direct connection to the mall for shopping and dining.

ATTENTION: No shuttle bus to the Narita airport from the hotel! The next bus stop is at the station (ca. 10min walk). The FAQs about this topic are outdated. (The bus to Haneda airport seems to be available)

Location: Conveniently located inside the Sunshine City mall, it has direct access to the mall. Great in the winter because you can go shopping without a jacket, and drop off all the goods back into the hotel. There is also a 24h Family Mart in the ground level of the hotel. There is a supermarket across from the hotel, with lots of food and entertainment options around. Customer Service: Staff are very professional and provides excellent service. They also speak English well.

Small Room: Just like all other Japanese hotels, the rooms are quite small. Price: It is quite pricy, at $235/night for 2 people. But hey, you pay for the convenience.

One of the best location I've been so far. The sunshine city mall right next to the hotel offers you a variety of restaurants and shops for everyone. On the ground floor next to the hotel lobby there is a convenience store where you can get your daily needs in terms of food and beverages. The staffs were super helpful in any way and made this experience far more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The hotel is a little bit off from the Ikebukuro station, so walking with your luggage can be a hassle. To be humble, I guess the best and most easiest way to get to the hotel is definitely taking the Yurakucho Line if you use public transportation. The closest station of that metro line is almost connect directly to the sunshine city mall.

Good location, room was bigger than most Jap hotels, adequate toiletries and comfortable bed. The water pressure of shower was perfect and that was a great treat after a long day of walking. I liked the housekeeping signs which were unusual - magnetic.

A tad far from the Ikebukuro station approx 15 min. The airport transfer bus was not available and the staff didn’t know alternative ways to get to Narita airport. I’m sure I’m not the first to ask about that. Strange that they were not able to advise. Would have been perfect if upon check in the concierge could share some insights about how to get around and share services provided by the hotel. Saw the Ike bus at the last minute but didn’t have chance to take it.

My room was the perfect size, with a nice big bed to myself. I had an incredible view from the 34th floor. I also received a really nice massage, and the breakfast buffet was both convenient and delicious!

It might have been nice to have access to another laundry room; while I was there, someone moved my laundry despite multiple signs posted saying not to do that.

This is my go-to hotel over the last few years whenever I visit Tokyo. I rather like the Ikebukuro area and the hotel is conveniently located next to Sunshine City Mall and other adjacent shopping arcades. There’s tons of shopping, restaurants and anime and character stores nearby. Walking distance to the subway station as well. Hotel room is bigger than most Japanese hotels. Staff are friendly and you can catch the airport limousine just outside the hotel which is I always use for transportation to and from the airport.

As this is an older hotel, I do find there could be possible upgrades with air conditioning. This time and the last time (in 2023) I stayed at this hotel, the room was quite warm. Both times, I contacted front desk and they brought up a fan which did address the concern with the room being too warm.
