LOCATION! WPU is located in the centre of Shinjuku. The train station is just a few minutes away and there are so many eating places, bars and massage parlours nearby. The rooms are tiny but comfortable. It is a great place to stay if you wanna explore the city.

They didn't tell me i was entitled to breakfast. It doesn't show anywhere in my booking although I remember only booking accommodation that served breakfast. I asked them on the last day whether i was entitled to breakfast and they said yes - too late🙄

This hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku. Just 200 meters from the Shinjuku station exit. Although Shinjuku has 200 exits so you have to be careful from where are you exiting. Neat and clean hotel and the room size is big enough going by the Tokyo standard. I was a solo traveler so there was enough space for me. Hotel staff is very helpful. Always ready to assist. You have the option to change towels daily or get the room cleaned everyday or you can opt for one. It’s very close to the Subway line so travel is very easy.

The location was absolutely fantastic. It was close enough to all the action without being too close. It is very peaceful compared to the chaotic nightlife just a few minutes down the road. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. Thank you to Kenji for helping me with my luggage in the middle of the night. There are 4-5 convenience stores within walking distance, a massive 24h drugstore just down the road. The metro station entrance is a 5 minute walk. All kinds of restaurants and eateries around and in the area behind the hotel. Also, a hidden gem cafe (coffee swamp) is a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend you check this out as it will likely be the only good REAL coffee you will get in Tokyo lol For a single person, my room was much more spacious than I expected and very comfortable with plenty of space to keep my luggage open. I appreciate that I got a view of the street which was nice. The room will be cleaned daily if you so desire. I did not use any of the shared facilities so I can’t comment on that. Honestly for the price point I can’t find a single fault and would definitely stay here again!

If I am being nitpicky then maybe the fact that the escalator direction changes randomly. But besides that, nothing.

Relatively slightly larger rooms than usual. Rooms were also clean with a well-equipped bathroom/toilet. Location is very good with lots of eateries and convenience stores nearby. Malls and Shinjuku station was a short couple of minutes walk away.

No elevator and only a small escalator to go up to the lobby from street level. Those with lots of luggage will find it a challenge as there're no concierge to assist either. Our stay was pleasant until the 5th and 6th nights when the air-conditioning broke down. As it was summer, it was pretty hot at night. WPU promised to refund the two nights to us, but we only received one night's.

The location is perfect, easy to get to anywhere in Tokyo. The room is cozy and not too small compare to other hotels in japan. I especially have to thank the staff there - my airline lost my luggage and couldn’t get it back until the day I left Tokyo🙄 the staff there helped me to call the airline and also took my luggage to my room at 5am! They are all so helpful and friendly, definitely recommend to others and will be back again!

The hotel was closed to Shinjuku station (closer to the Nishi-Shinjuku side), the room was big enough for me as a solo traveller, it was clean, price was great considering the central location. There was a mini fridge and a mini bathtub (I only expected just a normal shower head that's all) in the toilet. Front desk staff were friendly and I could put my luggage with them before I checked in (my flight arrived in Tokyo in the morning). They even provided a simple breakfast of croissants with Coffee or Tea. Nothing more that I could ask for, for the price point.

This was hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Tokyo! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the whole vibe of the place was modern, clean, and just super cool. The room was spotless and had everything I love—amazing Malin+Goetz toiletries, cozy robes, and seriously good coffee. I also loved the DJ booth at the entrance—it greets you with such great energy—and the little cafe around the corner was perfect for grabbing a coffee or getting some work done. The location was also perfect! Just a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station and Kabukicho Tower, where all the airport buses go—it made getting around so easy. Honestly, every detail was spot on, and I can’t wait to stay there again!

The location is superb. The hotel vibes are so homey. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. On my check-out day, a super kind staff helped me with my language and took it down, and even hailed a taxi for me. I'm sorry I didn't even get your name, but whoever you are. God bless you! Some areas, especially the WC, are not super clean. There were some dirt in the bathtub, sink, and toilet seat when I first arrived, but i hope they can improve it next time. The building is kinda outdated, but it's still fine. Because above all, I will still choose to stay and recommend it to my friends and colleagues who's coming to Tokyo soon!

My first ever trip to Japan, WPU was the first and last hotel on my travel itinerary across several prefectures. Location is very accessible to transit options and also easy to get to from the airport. Staff are very friendly and can offer recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, shopping, etc. (even suggested where I can buy bubble wrap for the fragile 本みりん and 赤酢 bottles I brought back home in my luggage, lol). I like the vibe of the area and would stay here again, but I’d make a point to explore more of the amenities the hotel offers such as lounge, cafe, staff recommendations (for attractions, omakase), etc. Even though I’m somewhat well immersed in Japanese culture and cuisine, for my first trip there was a bit of an adjustment to a new country, and I think staying here made that transition easier.

Great room with very good services. The bathroom was small but comfortable and had very generous water pressure. Sixth floor has a small laundromat, which was an absolute necessity with the hundred degree weather. The location could not be better as a starting point to exploring Japan. Only a 5 minute walk from one of the most central train stations in Japan. Step out the front door and you get a view of Shinjuku that almost feels archetypical of Tokyo.

About the only negative was that one of the pillows I was given smelled very funky. They would have definitely replaced it if I brought it up so I can't fault them too much for it as I just put it off to the side and didn't bother. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about, being just a bread roll and assorted juices, but I didn't come to Japan to eat a hotel breakfast so again, not really a bother.
