Staff were brilliant and hotel very clean. Nothing was to much trouble. Steve the head quatre keys consierge was very helpful. Foods in main restaurant very nice.

Swimming pool was closed and no notification was given to guests. If we had been notified we would probably have changed hotels, as we were planning on our first day to be R&R round pool. Wasn't told about the closure until after we paid, otherwise I would have asked for room upgrade or reduction as compensation upon check in! Not impressed. Pool expected to be closed for another 3 weeks, not 4 /5 days as duty manager advised us after we had paid! Beds were very firm, ask housekeeping for a mattress topper

The hotel is very well managed and maintained, and exudes a delightful old-school charm through its interiors. The staff is exceptionally dedicated, offering personalised attention from reception check-in to attentive concierge services and hospitable restaurant staff. The cafe and pool deck restaurant serve great food with a vibrant atmosphere, providing both covered and open-air seating options. The heated pool, lounge, gym, and bar facilities are also excellent sell! Furthermore, Stanley's central location in Nairobi's CBD proves advantageous, particularly considering the city's notorious traffic conditions.

My stay was extremely comfortable and above expectations overall, but I have two suggestions for improvement. Firstly, more vegetarian options in the cafe and pool deck restaurant would enhance the dining experience. Additionally, it would be nice if the hotel does not charge extra for a cappuccino during breakfast. The hotel's location serves as both an advantage and a drawback. Its central placement in the city is convenient for navigating Nairobi's traffic. However, being in the CBD area, there are concerns about pickpocketing. Despite the area's beautiful architecture, locals often advise against openly carrying phones and waller due to safety concerns.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and it's always nice to come back. The staff are all friendly and service oriented so that helps with a comfortable stay. I had an issue with my room but was able to move to a different one and greatly appreciate the positive attitude of the Duty Managers Susan and Leonard, and Chef Alice in the Thorn Tree Restaurant, to solving problems and helping to make every guest comfortable and enjoy their stay. I also love the ambiance of the Exchange Bar and the excellent customer service!

The power outage with no air conditioning and lack of a working WIFI were disappointing but both issues were finally resolved.

Excellent location including legendary Thorn Tree cafe. Clean spacious rooms with a real desk to work at. Bathroom old school neverless practical and clean. Hairdryer and option to listen to the radio/news in the bathroom. Excellent size swimming pool on fifth floor with on site spa/gym facilities. Exceptionally helpfull staff on the Concierge desk for mobile phone issues and reception arranged facility to use the pool and shower facilites post check out due to late flight departure. Appreciated that the door and security staff were always attentive to my personal security travelling solo in and around Nairobi.

Breakfast choice for non-meat eaters. Considering the huge variety of fresh produce available on the market stalls somewhat dissapointing selection at breakfast. Other menus were fine.

The room was comfortable, though a bit tight. The breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Every staff member had a smile and they went out of their way to be helpful. Location was very good, not too far from the airport. Wish we had stayed another night to check out the area.

It is a venerable hotel, i.e., it deserves a bit of upgrading without sacrificing its grand interior. For example. lighter wall colors would be good to liven things up a bit. Since it is located in the center of town, on weekdays, the area around it could be quite crowded. The positive part of it is that it is lively scene.

The Stanley is a grand dame of Nairobi, but has been kept modern and up to date. Our room was large, and well equipped, especially the bathroom. The shower was amazing, with great water pressure and temperature. We booked the Stanley for the swimming pool, and it turned out to be heated, which was great because when we visited in August it was only 72 F outside, so a heated pool was lovely. The set up for changing for the pool is very good indeed. We ordered room service, as after four days of safari we were absolutely exhausted. The food is the exact menu as the Thorn Tree Cafe, just delivered to your room. Same price. The food was pretty good.

We looked out on to another building across a narrow street, so no view. Water gets delivered by truck twice a day, and the sound of that is quite loud for a good hour. It was right below our "quiet" room.

Centrally located in Nairobi and only around 30mins from airport. If you want to walk around Nairobi it's really well-located & great value. There's also a good size pool & the restaurant has nice food, breakfast is okay. Although there are cafés within walking distance if you want a better breakfast. Very friendly & professional staff, although lady by pool towels was a bit moody.

We stayed first & last night of our stay in Kenya to. The room we were in that first night was a little musty smelling. It is a very dated hotel but it's still clean & comfortable

I have stayed in the Stanly a number of times over the years. My latest stay, for five nights, fully confirmed my positive impressions of this hotel. It was good value by Nairobi standards, at least on this occasion. The hotel in extremely well located for the Central Business District and central Nairobi in general. The staff are helpful and efficient. The services in general are good. This is a well-appointed hotel. My room was spacious and well furnished. One very positive aspect compared to comparable international hotels is that the Stanley has a very agreeable African and old-world atmosphere which gives it an added touch.

The only relatively minor shortcomings I observed were: the pillows, which were synthetic and rather too hard for comfort; and the air-conditioning which was rather noisy, and hard to turn off, but as one can open the windows, it was not problematic. I did not ask the hotel to fix these issues, and, in all fairness, I am sure they would have addressed them had I done so.

The hotel is a traditiknal style, one can appreciate its grandor from the past. It is well maintained. Breakfast is very good with endless selection for all taste. Rooms are big, beds are comfortable,. All the staff at the front desk are very kind, polite, the try very hard to make people'stay perfect, they do anything to solve problems or inconvenience

The lobby gets impregnated with smell from the kitchen when breackfast is prepared, it good need a solution. When there were noise priblems in my room the manager was not good at providing solutions

Great location at the heart of Nairobi. Great decoration; it's a legendary hotel that has existed for over a century. Restaurants are good, food is great. There is a 24h restaurant downstairs, which was great to have. Breakfast was extraordinary. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I've stayed at the Stanley in both my Nairobi visits and would definitely stay here again.

Food is slow in the pool bar. We ordered some sandwiches, there were no other guests around, and they took almost 1 hour to bring them out. Food was excellent though.
