Situated about a 15 minute walk from the center of Luxembourg, and right on the corner from an enormous parking lot with public transportation links all over the city (and country), Hotel Victor Hugo is a very good stay in the Capitol of the Grand Duchy, and I would definitely consider staying again. The parking lot is not free during the day - but is in evenings after 18:00 and on weekends. Remember to check for the Schoberfeuer, an annual festival in August in Luxembourg where the lot is converted into a fun fair (and obviously no parking is allowed). This aside, it's also a 10 min tram ride to the main station, meaning it's good for those there without a car, also. The rooms are big and clean, including the bathrooms and come with full shutters which effectively block the noise of the streets before. There are supermarkets, restaurants (including a famous local one) and other things all within walking distance. We didn't have time to check out the other facilities of the hotel but there are plenty.

Breakfast was rather expensive, so we didn't take it - some of the restaurants nearby are explicitly breakfast places are probably a better option for casual travellers. There's also only typically one staffer on reception at any given time, and a lot of traffic going through, which can lead to fairly long waits for something as innocuous as checking out.

The hotel was located very close to a tram station. Breakfast was good, with a variety of food to suit all tastes. The staff were all friendly and polite. A special mention of one of their excellent receptionists, Galiffe, who went above and beyond to help us when we ran into difficulties (not with the hotel). He worked on our behalf to resolve issues and he certainly was the high point of our hotel experience. He deserves to be promoted!

The air conditioning stopped working during our stay. Staff did their best to have it rectified as soon as possible, and this was done. We were offered a free breakfast by way of compensation. Staff attitude to this was excellent at all times.

The room was big and the bed were very comfy. The hotel is so close from the "tram" it is just a great location. I loved the fact that the floor in the bathroom was heated !

They had to walk us to another part of the hotel which is on the other side of the street (not far away of course but you still have to walk outside of the hotel, cross the road and then go to the second part of the hotel ? what a weird thing ....) because of this we did not wanted to take breakfast in the morning in the other building. It is not the end of the world of course but I would have prefered knowing this before.

Very good breakfast, indeed (this really was the highlight of our stay). There were several options to choose from. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and we couldn't hear any noise from other rooms. The location was very convenient as it was close to several transportation routes.

Some of the accessories in the room were broken, like the tissue paper holder, which fell when we took a tissue and had to hold in place the next times we wanted to take one. Other than that, this hotel was great!

The bed mattress is rounded to the sides and it makes you slip out of the bed if you turn. So the sleep is not very comfortable. The air con did not work, only super hot heating!!! The bath tub is too high for older people with mobility issues to climb in and out. Super dangerous. Steps at main entrance are uncomfortable to carry baggage up. Should have a ramp to pull the luggage or a porter/concierge! But that seems to be difficult if only one person is running hte whole services at the entire hotel!

Spacious room! I had a small living area with a couch and a separate bedroom… the bathroom was very large as well. The property was located just across the street from the Theatre tram stop which made it very easy to get around the city. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Room was a bit dated. The furniture, floors and finishings could use an update but other than that the property was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there on a future visit.

Located in a very central spot, only 5 minutes walk from the shopping streets.and restaurants, it is a great choice. Comfortable rooms, and helpful staff, and it is exactly as advertised. might not be the most modern hotel I have stayed in but I was pleasantly surprised with how convenient and clean it was. will definitely choose again. parking is easy as there are several.parkings nearby, with reasonable prices

there was nothing that I didn't like, no complaints at all!

Location was north of the city and away from much of bustle of the centre but had excellent connections to all over Luxembourg City and surrounds - a tram stop and bus stop were literaply across the road. Local restaurants and bars were only a short walk away. Facilities were simple and clean. A little bit of noise in the street because of a carnival but the room was quiet with the windows shut. Airconditioning was superb. I would definitely stay here again

The location is very central, with good restaurants around. The staff is friendly and helpful. I tried to turn on the air conditioning in the room, as the room was very stuffy and hot even though I had the window open, but the air conditioning didn't work. I asked for help from reception who informed me that they only call in the summer. The very friendly receptionist promptly resolved the situation by moving me to a cooler room. Problem solved!

Loved the room size and the terrace. Had a great view of Luxembourg. Also liked the blinds and shatters on the windows, you could leave the door open all night with no insects coming in and during the day close the shatters to stop the sunshine overheating the room. The location was amazing, opposite a lovely park and 15min walk from the centre with a pharmacy, a restaurant /bar and grocery shops around the corner.

The only thing really was the air con which wasn't too great, it was building controlled so for us from N. Ireland it wasn't cool enough but the staff gave us a desk fan which helped a little.
