The hotel is located in a central area and is near to many places of interest which we could visit easily by walking. From our room, we could see the Gelle Fra Monument and it was lovely to pop out of the window and enjoy the area around the hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The staff at the reception were very helpful. They could speak English and this was an asset for us. The staff were ready to give us a fan in our room and they also lent us an adapter to use for our mobile charger. We also enjoyed the breakfast. The staff at the breakfast hall welcomed us and attended to us with a smile.

The fact that there is no AC in this hotel made our first night difficult to sleep because it was too hot. When we opened the window, it was useless because it was so calm and warm. Also, it was very noisy outside almost throughout the whole night. We asked for a fan the next day and we were given one. I was aware that the hotel does not have air conditioning in the bedrooms when I booked. However, I thought that the temperature falls at night and so it would be fine. If there are no airconditions, a fan is a must in Summer in order to be able to sleep well.

This hotel is entirely unique, and really enjoyed it! I had a really nice 4 night stay here. As others mentioned, it is a historic hotel so some of the fixtures are older and not like a new property, but this is also what makes the place so great. You can see the hundred year history because there are still items from over the decades everywhere you look. My room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was a joy every morning - lovely array of options and a beautiful breakfast room. Also, the staff and the service were fantastic, and I appreciated the luxury touches like robes and slippers.

The bathroom I had could use a larger shower curtain because it wasn't large enough to prevent water from spraying in the floor.

Location, just a few minutes walk from bus stop Hamilius which was handy for airport. Room on 5th floor with triple windows & a little balcony, was able to see part of the Christmas Market. Electric lighting in the room was excellent as usually lighting can be quite dim. Blinds on window as well as curtains which darkened the room a lot and helped us to get to sleep easier. Fridge & tea making facilities. Variety of food at breakfast. Staff efficient and helpful.

Would have liked if there was some milk in the fridge but that’s not an issue really. Everything was lovely. We would stay there again

Very cute authentic place, vintage and romantic style ,cozy and comfortable room. Our room had nice amenities and great view to the valley. Very friendly stuff, top location and great breakfast. Due to lack of air conditioning system I would only recommend outside of hot days.

The first received message from the hotel , instead of welcoming , was rather aggressive about not halving an air conditioner system, signed by the owner. I rather receive a nice welcome message with a friendly explanation about the hotel and lack of Ac system just signed by the hotel stuff. It makes one feel more safe and appropriated.

A lovely hotel, beautifully maintained in period building, a very old passenger lift in perfect working order and the bar dates back to the1940s. Staff are helpful and pleasant especially the bar staff who went to lengths to make our visit comfortable, and giving us background on the hotel etc. The room was very comfortable, has comfy chairs for relaxing and our room had a small balcony with French doors. When opened we had a lovely breeze that helped with the heat experienced at the time. The hotel is situated adjacent to many restaurants and places of interest. Definitely recommended

Whilst I understand the hotel is trying to maintain the original ambience of the hotel, the bathroom is dated and could be updated without losing the period ambience. The shower curtain on the shower-bath is far too small and water ends up on floor

This hotel appeared brand new! My King Deluxe room was well worth the small increased charge. The room was clean and like brand new, also. The room was quiet, the mattress and pillows were great; wonderful night's sleep. The hotel is just off the historic district, which probably helped with the quietness of the room. Secure parking was right next door. Staff was very helpful and could speak English. They got me a dinner reservation in advance for a restaurant exactly what I was looking for (make sure to make a reservation in advance!).

I was a little disappointed in the breakfast buffet. The cheeses were plentiful, local and good, but I was hoping for more fruit and salad options.

The hotel room was amazing, with an exceptional view. The hotel is decorated in a classical style and has this wonderful feel of being in a time capsule like travelling back in time. But in these days of everything neon and flash that gave off a really homey feel, it's very beautiful and some of the details are just stunning. The staff were wonderful with a special mention for those at breakfast. We are Portuguese and it was very sweet of many of the staff to welcome us in our language.

The bedrooms could do with a slight freshening up, decoration wise, but more in the sense of repairs. Don't spoil what you have. Special attention to the bathrooms, that although had no issues, could be improved but in keeping with the style.

The older facade and the quaint interior were charming however I am quite particular about the cleanliness of the space I sleep in in a hotel. This was an absolute pleasure. The room was immaculate. All except the curtains. The beds the bathrooms. Older models and yet comfortable and most importantly, clean. I have already recommended this stay to my social contacts. Thank you to the cleaning lady that we met and to the man at reception. Their kindness and informative support were greatly appreciated.

The curtains in the room were not hung correctly and although they seemed clean they were tatty. My friend and I discussed this. We suggest to remove the thin window curtains and to create a less complicated hanging system. Then to invest in new curtains; olde in style yet easy to remove and clean. Perhaps two sets per room to swap between guests. Or something like that. I wished that I lived nearby and would volunteer my time to sew these. We really loved our stay.

The location is great - accesible by public transport and just a step away from all the sights. The hotel has an old-fashioned feeling about it, which I liked. I was staying in two different rooms, and the second one had a really beautiful view of the square and the valley. The room was very clean, with all the necessary additions like a water heater. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The first room I stayed in had a view of a wall a few meters away (so no view at all), and therefore it almost felt a bit claustrophobic. They tried to mitigate that with a whole lot of mirrors.

The hotel is fabulous. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere and brilliantly central in the city. The room we had was a good size and had everything we needed. The breakfast was really good. The bar was a lovely spot to have our last drink of the evening. The hotel describes itself as 1960s grand and it really is. We loved all the little touches like the daily mat change in the lift, the chunky keys needing to be left at reception, sweets on reception and the warm friendly greeting received every time we returned throughout the day.

Nothing. There really was nothing to dislike in my opinion.
