My second stay here, I was determined to come back. Such a good homely atmosphere and delicious coffee. I love the seating beside the street and the amazing food nearby. Incredible masala tea on one corner and authentic non-tourist Tamil food round the other corner. I love the wooden floors and comfy beds at Red Inn Court. The breakfast is simple but ideal I'm a fan - I'd stay for two months if I could.

There's nothing I don't like but it may not be for everyone. It is homely and heritagey - creaky floors, steep stairs - a converted shophouse. Just savour real Penang here and don't count the Michelin stars.

Located in the middle of the old town. Many food options around. The shared dorm of 4 pax is not big but it is comfortable. Comfy bed too. Every bed comes with a small locker, a light and two plugs. Breakfast is simple but was enough to fill me well, it consists of bread, jam, coffee, tea and watermelons. The service team members are nice and patient. Toilets are clean and decent enough with hot water. Here, the social area at ground level at the reception is small so it is easy to meet other travellers and guests in this manner. In general, I am happy with my stay here and I will come back again.

Very clean hostel, centrally located with all what you need. Thed bed in my 4 dorm bed room was comfortable, you get a free towel and each bed has a shelf with a closable door to store your valuables, there is even a power plug inside to charge your electronics in peace. The air condition is very quiet. Shared bathrooms and roikets are ver clean. The hostel has a tiny cooking/kitchen facility. The excellent thing is the all day free coffee, tea, swiss hot chocolate packs and filteres water. In the morning you have a complementary breakfast with help yourself toast, butter, jam and fresh watermelon. There is even a toaster to toast your toast. The lobby has a café like chill out area with view on the street. Friendly staff.

The 4 bed room dorm misses some storage/lockers for your travel bags, when fully occupied there is not much place left with all the bags/backpacks in the room. Wifi quality is medium to bad.

Absolutely loved my stay here. Great location on the edge of Little India, opposite a beautiful temple and about 10 minutes from both the Port and the main tourist streets. My room wad an excellent size (the superior double) with space to lay out stuff. Breakfast provided is basic but welcome and a great opportunity to meet other guests. Showers were clean with good water pressure and never full. Aircon worked as did the fan and overall this was a lovely place to spend a few days.

There are a few things to be aware of if you're staying: - if you have one of the front facing rooms there is a LOT of street noise and the call to prayer from the nearby mosque at 5am. Bring earplugs. - the property is very damp, like lots of buildings in Malaysia. Fine for a couple days stay but something to think about if you're staying longer

The staff are amazingly friendly! I honestly would stay here again to visit the staff as friends. The beds are very comfortable and clean, they provide aircon all day, and you can hand wash your clothing and dry them out back. The location is incredibly convinient, making for a perfect stay.

The provided breakfast is a bit simple. Its fruit, toast, and jam. I would have loved yogurt and some cereal as an option, or some boiled eggs. Just a bit more to choose from, but other than that it was perfect.

location

I always like to give high marks, but that doesn't mean I'm satisfied with this hotel. I really don't recommend this hotel because it's really inconvenient and uncomfortable. First of all, the space in the bedroom is very small, you don't even have room to put your luggage. Also, you are not allowed to wear shoes from the moment you enter the hotel door, which is very painful for me because I have rheumatism and I am most afraid of having my feet in direct contact with the ground. Charging is also very inconvenient. The socket is in a locked compartment. If you want to charge, you can't place a pillow comfortably. All in all, this is a very troublesome hotel, and I'm glad I only booked it for one night.

Great location, near Little India. There's a personal storage locker at the front of the bed. Bed is comfy & cozy, aircon is cold. There are multiple shared bathrooms, come with heated water, slightly tight space, liquid soap available. Breakfast available at 8.30am, sometimes earlier. Self serve, toast, free flow of coffee & tea. Love the juicy watermelon. :) Friendly staffs. I would recommend this place to young ppl & travellers for a budget stay. Value for money. Will book again :)

The rooms are upstairs, so the stairs might not be too friendly for elders.

I could live in this hostel! In fact, i hope one day I come back and do just that! The staff, the facilities, the beds, the communal space, the value, the location... it is all just the best! The crowd is a bit older, more people living abroad and working online and that. Not party kids. Which I loved about it! They are just so friendly and it is just such a comfortable place to be. I stayed 6 nights, wish I'd stayed for a month. Oh, and free tea and coffee! Good coffee! Great free breakfast. Also a little cafe that's not badly priced. This place is a winner. And the building is gorgeous and historic. Loved it.
