Hotel is centrally located so we could walk to most places. Staff and administration exceeded expectations. They bent over backwards to quickly respond to requests, even bringing in different local foods for us to experience. Their recommendations for restaurants were spot on. The hotel has charm and character; you can even hear restaurant across the street opening up at 5:00 am. Highly recommended.

initially we were concerned there was no lift, but they do have a lift for luggage. Non-issue.

The cutest place we stayed in Malaysia! The owner and the staff are all really sweet and welcoming, the place is right in the middle of LITTLE INDIA that males it so much more interesting and vibrant. The rooms are really nice and clean, the bed comfortable, excellent breakfast and the bathroom super spacious. We stayed in the TUB ROOM which I recommend!

The hotel is right in the middle of LITTLE INDIA which is quite noisy and could be annoying especially in the morning (nothing that earplugs can’t fix though!)… However, as we were leaving the were workers outside that were actually fixing the windows! So I definitely believe that the noise will be much less now!

Absolutely beautiful hotel run by a great team. We really enjoyed our 4 days at the Ren I Tang hotel and were very sad to have to leave at the end of it. The design of the hotel is so unique and fascinating you could spend all day just looking in the cabinets and frames. The rooms are very stylishly decorated in a way inkeeping with the history of the building, but still being wonderfully comfortable. Bed and pillows were perfect, everything was spotlessly clean and shower worked perfectly. The whole team were really friendly and helpful, from planning our days to laundry and giving great suggestions for dinner. They were also just genuinely lovely people who make a hotel stay feel that much more special. The breakfast was also very tasty with a variety of options available that we thoroughly enjoyed each day. The location was also great for exploring Georgetown, with plenty to see and do in every direction whether ita sightseeing, museums, temples or food. This is a fantastic hotel that my wife and I actually hope to return to one day and would recommend to all our friends and family.

A lovely three-night stay in a lovely heritage building rich in history. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly, and helpful. A lovely breakfast spread, which included char koay teow from a coffee shop across the street. Couldn't get more authentic than that. We stayed in the Airwell Room which had natural lighting, which woke us up when the sun came up. The sitting area was practically a museum of traditional medicine. Lots of atmosphere. The staircases were steep and narrow, but there is a newly-installed lift for older folks to use. A most enjoyable and memorable stay!

Staff really kind and helpful. The hotel is probably better suited to couples etc than families with young kids but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or kind to us and our 3-year-old daughter and there were other guests staying with kids who all seemed happy. Overall atmosphere and environment of the hotel are 10/10 an oasis of calm in the middle of a very lively area. Great authentic options from hawker stalls and cafes for breakfast open at 7am in immediate vicinity so we left at 7am every day to have breakfast and went out for a walk and then back for a second breakfast at the hotel at 10am (served 8:30-10:30). Breakfast was fairly basic but nice.

Ren I Tang is a gem of a hotel. Perfectly placed in the old quarter of George Town, on Little India's doorstep and within easy walking distance of all the wonderful Chinese eateries and mansions, the place is steeped in a magical history. The staff are so friendly and amenable - showcasing the very best of Malaysian hospitality. They were very helpful and made my stay as easy and as comfortable as possible. They offered great recommendations on which sites to visit and how, and where best to eat. The breakfast was exceptional and the bistro dishes mouth-watering. The Laksa was the standout! The bar also has a superb selection of gins which was perfectly refreshing during those very humid evenings. I also enjoyed a foot and shoulder massage which were well needed after a long flight. What I loved most about this place was that everything seemed special - you felt like you were staying somewhere Agatha Christie might have stayed in the 1920s. Very romantic, nostalgic and worldly. My stay was flawless, I will definitely be coming back!

Everything. Within the Little India area, walking distance to various tourist attractions. It is a "museum" with plenty of history and story. A vintage Inn mixed with traditional shophouse architecture, modern facilities and some nice art pieces. Clean and comfy room with Netflix. Extraordinary hospitality, friendly staff who pay attention to the needs of guests. Ground floor is a restaurant & bar, free breakfast and paid dishes are all delicious. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience.

The property has a lots of history and charms, it will absolutely captivate you. My room was very spacious and decorated with essential yet stylish wooden furniture. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with classic western food but also the fantastic local food and fresh fruit provided. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The location is in the centre of the UNESCO heritage part of the city, precisely in the heart of Little India. I also enjoyed the bistrot attached to the Inn which provides a lovely food and shelter in case of rain.

Due to the proximity to the street I never opened the shutter windows so I lacked a bit of natural sunlight (but it was no problem for me). If for you it is important to get sunlight perhaps mention it to the staff asking which room would best fit your need.

it’s such a beautiful place! pics don’t give it the least justice, the quality of design, attention to detail, respect for the materials and history- incomparable with anything I’ve ever seen. pair this with amazing, open, involved and informative staff, 10/10 location and excellent breakfast- you get a true gem. And they have a wonderful bistro, that serves amazing food and decent alcohol in very reasonable prices (don’t blame me, it is a factor if you spend your hols in a Muslim country;)

there was a bit of street noise, as it’s the middle of the city centre, but after 10pm it gets quiet, with ocasional motorbike passing by
