This place is perfect..... A short walk from busy streets but feels like an oasis

We decided to mark our anniversary weekend by staying at the luxurious Corinthia hotel. From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a lovely atmosphere, and the warmth of the staff only enhanced our experience. Each interaction was met with genuine friendliness and attentiveness. And to top it all off, the breakfast spread was delicious and exceeded our expectations. It truly was a memorable weekend getaway.

Quiet location. Superb breakfast selection Attentive staff. Very comfortable beds. Shuttle bus to Valletta.

Bath didn't work. Only the shower. Many staff struggled with English. Staff at breakfast seemed rushed and often just forgot to bring orders. Pool quite cold.

The Hotel has everything you could want. Michelin Star Restaurant and a Francesco Mazzei Restaurant. A wonderful Spa. Staff were very hospitable. Ramesh the Concierge is probably the most helpful guy I’ve seen in the role.

This is a very clever hotel. Whoever hires the staff is a genius. The staff make the hotel. In every way this place is exceptional. I’m not a big breakfast person so we didn’t have the restaurant breakfast. Instead the hotel has a BRILLIANT healthy vegan coffee shop called Josephine’s. Their lunch is fantastic too when you want to be a bit healthier than the poolside menu! The outside pool is brilliant and weirdly very quiet in the mornings. The way it’s designed means the kids tend to use the top end on the pool leaving the deeper larger side for adults. A family friendly hotel but you don’t feel like there are “kids” running about everywhere. We hired a car, you can park out front of the hotel or just opposite in a public car park or on the road. Parking is plentiful. We tend to eat dinner early and were surprised that the already reasonably priced Michelin star restaurant had an early bird offer on. 3 courses €50 which is insanely good value. Check when this is available. All the food is exceptional across the sites . I’ve seen other reviews saying the pool side food is expensive , it’s actually good quality and therefore costs what it does. Dont forget the poolside menu is attached to a restaurant. If that restaurant looks busy leave at least 30mins for your order. The bar is also lovely if you’ve had a massive lunch and just want light snacks for dinner. All the staff were excellent but shout outs to Ramesh and Hans (front desk) Rau (bar) Siva (pool) Jean-Paul and Kenyo (Bahia) Sergio the pianist Kelvin (sorry if it’s Kevin I was so hungover on check out!) All went above and beyond. I travel for work a lot and stayed in the best hotels globally. This hotel has beaten everywhere I’ve stayed before. They have it perfect!

None of pools outside are heated :( Very cold. So nice but cold :( As in a 5-star hotel, one of them could be heated. The hotel was great but the room like 3-star hotel. Small bathroom and all bathroom fixtures could be updated.

We have stayed at this hotel before but something has changed since we last stay. All areas of the hotel were all well kept and clean as one would expect of a 5* hotel. We found that the staff in all areas were great, always polite and caring for the needs of the guests. One of the changes is that breakfast is no longer a full buffet which we liked. Extra restaurants have been added and a coffee shop added, although the menu here was completely plant based. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We thought our stay was somewhat spoiled by the room location. Our room (140) was situated in a corridor of about 12 rooms, non of which had great views. We felt there nobody else in the corridor except us. The view from our room was the flat roof of the hotel entrance and houses in the road outside the hotel. The room was never made up until late in the afternoon. When we asked for an hour late checkout, that was refused. We were told that the room was unavailable. We did feel like second class visitors and we are wondering if this room and location was because we booked through Booking.com and not directly with the hotel.

My room was just perfect, it was large, had everything I needed and all rooms have the most lovely balconies. The location of the hotel was perfect, surrounded by trees, next to beautiful public gardens and with bus stops right outside the hotel. The breakfast rooms are just beautiful, all tables with linen table cloths and a choice to sit outside, there are so many options for breakfast laid out and to order, of which I sampled many and all were delicious - the table staff were extremely attentive and professional.

The only thing that was a little frustrating was my room key card as it stopped working a few times and I had to go down to reception to get it re-set, which was a little annoying when going to my room after dinner at night.

It was an all-round wonderful short holiday. Top as always. Clean, quiet, good service. Special thanks as always to Kevin and this time also to Ayush. I would also like to thank the cleaning staff who did a great job. The breakfast and dinner were great. Thank you!

I would like to emphasise here that this is complaining at a high level. The bathrooms are no longer state of the art, just like the carpet in the rooms. I hope that the Caprice Lounge will be open again on my next visit, it is the heart of the hotel. In this context, best regards to the team. It is also noticeable that fewer and fewer Maltese are working in the hotel, the few who have been there for years are now really the heart of the hotel. Thank you for that!

The location is very nice, away from tourists, in a gorgeous part of the island with lovely villages around. The staff were super friendly! The hotel itself is gorgeous, the territory, spa, lobby, especially restaurant decor were fantastic. Mattress very comfy! Room service excellent

The rooms themselves are quite old, certain places has paint peeling off or rust. The restaurant food was very disappointing for the price, there’s much better options around. Breakfast is okay, but it’s 100% the same each day - if you stay for 7 days it gets boring. WiFi hit and miss.
