Malta is a cultural melting pot, with locals, ex pats and tourists. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary, hence seeking a quiet oasis in the town of Naxxar, out of the regular tourist traps. The town is situated on a hill, which made getting to Sliema and Valetta very easy, getting to Blue Grotto a breeze, and most importantly it is near to St Paul's Bay were the Blue Lagoon and Gozo trips depart from. The local coffee shops are amazing, especially Alfreds (opposite the Church) and which undoubtedly serves the best coffee on the Island, and the local restaurants have great service, great food and great prices.

Finding the Hotel was a challenge, as Google maps takes you past it. The street (Triq) names are a real challenge, the streets narrow, and parking takes a few spins around the Hotel block. The staff on duty the night we arrived gladly walked down to where we were parked and escorted us to the very narrow alley that the Hotel is situated in. Better signage and directions to the Hotel would be a bonus.

I don't even care about the location as this hotel is the best. It is quite, kids friendly, very good view, best facilities, good service, clean rooms, etc. The value for money is great in relative terms from where I have visited in recent times. The restaurant is great as the chiefs visit your table and have a little chat about their foods. They are friendly and transparent. I will come back with my family very some for the city break.

The pool is small but was very comfortable and clean, the sun beds were extremely comfortable and covered first thing in the morning with towels to protect them. Towels are also available from the spa. The room was big and although we were ground floor with an enclosed balcony it didn't affect us the pool was close by and we stayed there during the day. The bathroom is very big and also spotless. The beds are very comfortable. The staff were all lovely and Atilla was always on hand for a last drink before bed. We ventured out every night and used bolt to visit other areas of Malta, the furthest we visited was Valetta about 20 minutes and between 12-17 euros in bolt. We also went for dinner in St Julien's, Rabat, visited Mdina the walled city (totally recommend). Naxxar is a quiet village with not much open after 11pm, lots of places to eat during the day and we really liked Tribe for breakfast/brunch and Osaka the little Japanese restaurant for food. For anyone British you don't need a plug as the plugs are the same and also have USBs. The restaurant is lovely and the buffet breakfast very good. They have a wide range of food from fruit, cereal, meat to sausages bacon and beans.

Nothing we loved everything.

Staff was very friendly. The room was spacious with a beautiful bathroom. Indoor pool is heated. We went on a Friday and took a massage which was wonderful. We were the only ones that made use of the indoor pool. Outdoor pool is not heated and still a bit cold in this time of the year (half May). Sauna, steamroom etc you need to book apparently upfront so that they can turn them on, therefore we only could make use of the sauna as that one heats up quickly. Indoor courtyard is nicely decoration. Indoor Pool is this time of year open till 22:00 while the website mentioned 19:00.

Overall we were happy! Only thing that could be improved was the shampoo as i needed a full bottle to wash my hair one time since it was not foamy. Further everthing was good!

Lovely clean hotel. Quaint, hidden away and quiet. I arrived feeling unwell, we were early hoping the room would be ready so I could sleep it off and it was so was very grateful for the earlier access. Parking was ok but not ideal if you had small children or lots of luggage. (Which we didn’t so not a problem for us)

The balcony was so tiny, so so tiny, barely usable. The air con wasn’t working on arrival, someone helped fix it but even after that it wasn’t particularly great but was quiet which was good. We felt Food was expensive here so didn’t eat much at the hotel.

It was a wonderful stay the room was super comfortable and clean, one downside of the room the balcony was very small you could only fit 1 chair on it ( in the superior room) The pool area was lovely also but A lot of mosquitos and only had the sun there for around 1 hour after check in at 3pm. The wellness center was the best part this wasn't included in the price of our stay but thought €10 per person extra was well worth it

The hotel was very luxurious with large rooms, a big bed, a pillow menu! And an amazing shower. The sun beds were the most comfortable ones I’ve ever lounged on. The spa was also a great bonus!

I would say the expensive of dining at the hotel. The buffet breakfast was great but 19/ 20 euros each per day adds up. They have a great drinks menu at the bar but again, it gets very expensive if you just want a chill poor day.

We did not have the breakfast at the hotel as we felt it was priced too high.

We had an incident with the shower which resulted in the shower room & main room becoming flooded. It was managed & resolved very quickly & respectfully but this could have been avoided with improved drain cleaning in the shower. I slipped in the water & bruised my knee which was not comfortable for a few days. The spa & indoor pool closes too early. After a day out it would have been nice to have use of the facilities for later. The pool is small but big enough for up to 6-10 people anymore then in would feel crowded, therefore the number of sun loungers around the pool should be reduced to allow more space to manoeuvre & feel less cramped.

breakfast was excellent and service attentive. reception staff were particularly helpful with any question actioned straight away

music was invariably too loud and when i asked them to turn it down around the pool just a little i was told it wasn't. isn't the customer right? evening music often not appropriate for relaxed dining which was a shame given the high standard of food and lovely surroundings. Also a wall was being built immediately adjacent the pool area - health and safety was distinctly lacking and heavy blocks could genuinely have badly injured someone if they had been dropped

Manager and receptionist very informative and helpful. Stayed for 4 days, Room lovely, comfortable and clean, with small balcony overlooking pool. Lovely views. Kettle, coffee machine and fridge in room, which was very handy, Towels, dressing gown, slippers and hairdryer provided. Bar Cocktails a nice treat, and seem to be same price as many other bars. Spa rooms available for a small fee. Pool lovely and free with the hotel. Next time, I don't think I would have breakfast every day, as there is a lovely patisserie nearby. Didn't have time to try the restaurant, as quite a few restaurants nearby. We ate at Georgio's in Salima (near to where the boat trips start) a couple of times... excellent italian restaurant. Would highly recommend this hotel, and would stay again.

March weather was mainly sunny - but a cold wind. Hotel couldn't do anything about that though!
