Travellers from Australia. We stayed there several nights and it was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the attention and assistance from the staff! They couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so welcome. The bar and restaurant staff were fabulous, and we really enjoyed the Sega Dance and BBQ night. The buffet breakfast and dinners were so yum. We had a hotel room on the top floor, which had a spa/jacuzzi, and the ground floor pool was beautifully clean. The benefit of this hotel is that it is right off the main street, near the beach and supermarket, ATMs, near bus stops and restaurants. There is delicious street food available along the main street along Flic en Flac beach (sooo cheap and there is a real vibe with all the families coming out on the weekend with their picnics and stereos). It is quite cheap to hire your own driver, by Australian standards, and we also caught the bus like the locals all the way to Port Louis for something different. Whilst we stayed at some very expensive resorts all around Mauritius, we really enjoyed the personal touch of the staff. They felt like friends.

It is 3 floors with no elevators as it is a 'boutique' hotel, but the staff will carry your bags.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Seastar Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and kind. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and has a nice atmosphere. The room is adequately sized, modern, clean and very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We stayed here for four days and enjoyed a variety of dishes each morning. We also booked a buffet dinner and sega show where we were able to enjoy a delicious spread of Mauritian food and fun entertainment. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach from the Hotel and there are some restaurants within 5 - 10 walking distance from the hotel. The bus stop is also nearby. Good value for money.

Sound proofing in the rooms is not so great. I could hear noises from the reception area in the early morning. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but otherwise it's perfectly fine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SeaStar Hotel!!! • ♡ We came to Mauritius to celebrate out honeymoon and stayed at a 5* resort the week earlier in Belle Mare. We left feeling so defeated having paid so much for a hotel where we did not enjoy our stay or feel we had recieved value for how much we had paid. Thankfully we found SeaStar hotel and decided to move the remaining 5 days of our honeymoon to the south west side of the island which was the only place with sunshine (best decision we made!) So if you want an amazing stay and memorable experience you won't regret, especially if you're looking to go to Mauritius off peak- then SeaStar hotel is an incredible (the) place to stay ♡ Hotel Location/weather/proximity: This side of the island is just stunning with picturesque moutain views you will experience when driving into Flic-en-flac. The hotel is easy to find and also pretty- newly rennovated from both in and outside. The vibe is incredibly welcoming and we felt safe and at home the moment we walked in. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and with refreshing drinks made by Josan at the bar also located by the reception. The hotel manager (the coolest manager you will ever meet) then personally took the time to explain where we can find shops, restaurants, malls ext. The beach is easy to locate - just down the road (4 minute walk) and was one of the best beaches we have ever snorkled at. You also have a supermarket (Jumbo) between the hotel and the beach which is incredibly convenient! Jumbo is a great reference point if you want to take a taxi to the hotel as the hotel is relatively new. Everyone in this area speaks good English/French and you have several ATM machines and stores nearby. You also have tour operators you can book, including one up from the hotel - Turquoise Voyages/Sam tours who booked a wonderful trip for us to the National park. The hotel also arranges activities and a car rental service with drop off at the airport available.

Decent boutique style hotel located within walking distance of the seafront and beach. Staff were very pleasant and most helpful, rooms were very clean, showers excellent, and there is both a swimming pool at the front (unused) plus a very handy rooftop terrace complete with Jacuzzi which we utilised a few times. From a location perspective, the hotel is also close to a large supermarket and a few bars and restaurants. The staff were also very helpful as we had an evening flight the day we left so we were able to check out of our rooms, they stored our luggage, and I was even able to change and have a shower before leaving later in the afternoon.

Sadly the "fridges" were pretty woeful, and we were told it was for Eco-reasons. However, if you have a fridge, then it needs to be cold; or simply don't bother having one. Similarly, the aircon units seemed to lack a bit of "grunt" & had annoying default settings, presumably again for Eco-reasons, and although we both had balconies as part of our deal, neither were used as my son's overlooked a busy street and mine was adjacent to another room's corner balcony; ergo, no privacy. The only other minor niggle was the hotel bar shut at 2200 most nights, and since we are both late birds, then we had to go out to drink instead.

I seriously don’t know how everyone in the hotel is always nice, polite, friendly, and warm! We’ve traveled to a lot of different places across Europe, Africa and the US, but this one is the best place we’ve been regarding the staff, what the hotel offers, the cleanliness and the overall atmosphere and concept of working. The guests are on the first place and all of them, starting from the restaurant to the hotel, put a lot of effort to make your stay memorable and cozy. We loved to hear about their different cultures depends on where each of them come from and they always wanted to share a nice story 😊 The breakfasts were always the same but enough to choose from. The restaurant is clean and even though there aren’t many options for lunch/dinner everything we tried was delicious especially the starters! The bar on the rooftop was amazing and we were lucky to get the only room on the rooftop which was nice because we had chance to witness some cool organized events like traditional Mauritian dancers. Suzi is definitely a star of the place and we loved her purring and cuddles 🤩 Overall, we enjoyed it a lot and we will be back for sure one day!

The hotel is great. Tasteful and well managed, the personnel was very kind and helpful (special thanks to Abdel, Valérie and Jacky). The rooms were standard, the balcony was nice. The restaurant was very good. We had dinner a la carte and the food and cocktails were above 3-star level. We also appreciated the help with booking a boat tour. The pool is with fresh water so not very warm but the setting is nice. The roof top bar is a great way to chill after dinner. The breakfast was delicious and there were new things everyday, fresh bread and pastries. There is a dedicated parking near the hotel. The traditional Mauricien show on Monday was a highlight. Definitely worth visiting the place.

The walls are thin. You can hear the people walking on the floor above or next door. The surroundings are not picture perfect - some constructions going on. There is a little walk to the beach but nothing significant.

The hotel is super nice and cosy. The rooms have everything you'll need during your stay (water, electric kettle, towels for the pool, etc.) and are kept very clean. They also offer regular events and live music in their restaurant and on the rooftop bar which I can recommend a lot. You can book lots of excursions right in the hotel as well. We had already planned most of our vacation beforehand so we didn't take them up on those offers but it's something to keep in mind. Also, they can organize a driver for you to take you all around the island. We used this option a lot for comfort, especially for early boat trips and such that start at the other end of the island. The hotel restaurant was great, too. The breakfast always consisted of a perfect mix of classic continental foods (like sausages, bacon, eggs, or pancakes) and delicious local fruits. For lunch and dinner, they have some great classics and local dishes as well. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. It almost feels wrong to single specific people out because they're all amazing, but Valerie and Abdel are honestly some of nicest and most attentive people I have ever met. It was such a joy to stay with you - you guys really made our vacation even more special. Thank you so much for everything, and we hope to come back soon!

The breakfast is excellent with a good variety of dishes. the staffs are excellent. a special thanks to Mr. Michael ( from south Africa) who is very helpful in all situation, very humble and straight forward. Also a very special thanks to Mrs. Sadna, the house keeping lady who is very very attentive to all details concerning cleanliness of the room. The room is always clean and perfect. All staffs from reception to house keeping and restaurant staffs are excellent. Will definitely visit you again. We have been very satisfied with the excellent service provided by this hotel.

The temperature in flic en flac during summer time is very hot, 34 degrees Celsius. Air conditioning working 24 hours in rooms. I strongly recommend to drink a lot of water for hydration and to apply sun cream.

Concise but fresh and tasty breakfast every morning. Weather was good so we enjoyed breakfast in the garden around the pool every day - a great start to the day. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Rooftop bar was a great way to finish the day. The location at the north end of Flic-en-flac was great. A short walk (less than 100m) to supermarket, bus stop and taxi rank. Flic-en-flac beach was 5 mins walk. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within 10-15 minute walk. The hotel is one block off the main street so it is quiet throughout the day and in the evening. Off street parking was provided at no charge.

There was a problem with the door leading to our balcony not closing and locking properly. Management promised to have this fixed but it wasn't completed before we departed.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The pool is very relaxing and quiet and sun beds are always available. The breakfast is really nice, with cooked food, cakes, pastries, fruit, pancakes, omelettes etc. There’s also lunch and dinner available at the hotel which is amazing and not too expensive, and a bar with drinks available to drink by the pool. The hotel is in a great location too! Would definitely recommend staying here, really good value for an amazing hotel. We will be back!
