Great value! The owner was very kind and welcoming, and our stay was comfortable. Property is in a great location: a quieter, residential area that's a few blocks away from all of the main restaurants near Carrizalillo and also close to Playa Bacocho. Getting to Punta de Zicatela was also easier than expected ~20-25min drive or taxi away. Parking was also very easy with plenty of spots on the street. WiFi worked well.

We enjoyed Carri Surf Studio so much that we returned twice in and almost spent a period of 2 months. The rooms are light and the bed is good. The location is great: only a short 2-minute walk to the small 'strip' of Rinconada and Carrizalillo beach. The personnel is very friendly and it's nice that you can use the kitchen with free 'agua natural'.

Some rooms have a mosaic glass window that at night lets light through from neighbouring rooms. Wearing an eye mask will help, but an extra curtain would be better.

Friendly and helpful staff. They helped us to organise a boat tour, including pick up, to see humpback whales, dolphins and turtles. Access to drinking water downstairs. A good rooftop to chill out on. Big comfortable room and was very clean. Great location to many lovely coffee shops, restaurants and the beaches. Cafe Nopal located right next door serves great coffees and brunch food.

Door to the toilet didn’t shut unless the lid to the toilet was up. The AC dripped a fair bit beside the bed. TV remotes didn’t work for our TV - we checked the batteries.

A perfect place to use as a base! We stayed for 12 nights at Carri Surf and can’t complain at all. It’s a great location - super close to Carrizalillo or Manzanillo / Angelito beach. We also walked to Bacocho and Zicatela too! We loved sitting on the roof terrace of Christmas Day with a bottle of bubbly, or in the evening playing a game of cards. The room has everything you need, good air con, cold fridge, comfy bed and a safe. We didn’t really use the shared kitchen as spoilt for choice with coffee shops and restaurants close by. We thought we had a private balcony but it was the joint corridor that led to our room, but we still hung out our wet things all the same and that seemed to be ok.

Being picky - rooms could have been cleaner

I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel, best sleep I’ve had in Mexico so far! Huge bed with comfortable mattress and had a mix of pillows (hard and soft). The rooftop terrace I only discovered on my last day but sat up there reading a book until my late bus to Oaxaca. They also have hammocks up there! Great for sunset. Yes, the location is a little bit far away from the busier beaches, but you can swim at the one nearby and also learn to surf there. It’s only 5-6 minutes walk away. There is a great bakery in the Main Street, and right next door THE BEST cafe in the whole of Puerto Es. and English speaking too with English menu too. The lady that runs that cafe is super sweet! As a sooo female traveller that’s not so much into the party scene, this was absolutely perfect. Could not fault it. Will stay again for sure!

room was amazing with a balcony, very comfy bed, very clean, great shower, really close to the beach & restaurants, good kitchen and facilities, and they had a lamp in our room!

WiFi was slow in our room and kept dropping out, i think the bird in the lobby needs a much bigger cage, the kitchen desperately needs a fan as it gets very hot while cooking

Rooms are lovely and clean, decent size and have pretty much everything you need. Shower was lovely and the products smell amazing! Roof terrace was a nice spot.

The aircon was pretty noisy and the small window didn't have a curtain, so it was very light in the mornings, both impacting sleep a little!

The location was perfect, bed was super comfortable, loved the fridge and the safe. Drinkable water in the kitchen and generally a hostel-style kitchen to use were great. We loved the hidden rooftop terrace with hammocks!

Moldy shower curtain - can easily be swapped! A bit more storage space to hang clothes, also easy fixes. Especially in this climate it’s nicer to hang clothes instead of folding them in the tiny shelf. A little curtain to dim out the light (and sometimes noise) from the ventilation shaft would be the icing on the cake.

Great location - quiet(er) part of town which we loved. Quite a few options to choose from within walking distance (but also go check out Pinta if you’re visiting PE). Bed was really cozy, pillows were awesome!!! And you get 4 of them :) Clean! The family who run the hotel are super sweet! Right next door to an awesome Cafe, Nopal. If you like coffee and pastries, also check out Dulce Tierra up the street :)

Nothing not to like! There are no extra facilities or anything like that, so this is just a great basic, cozy hotel to call home base during your stay.
