My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week and we absolutely loved our stay!!! The hotel is small and quaint and it is beautifully decorated. I absolutely fell in love with the wood juxtaposed to the vibrant wall colors and authentic Oaxacan tile. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. The gardens are also stunning. It made me so happy to walk through the grounds each morning. The pool is also perfect - it actually is much larger than it looks in the pictures. The location was perfect for us. It is super close to playa carrizalillo and some of the best restaurants in Playa. We really didn’t have to leave the area to have some of the best food in the area. Rinconada is not a party area but a more mature adult/family area. But still very easy to catch a cab to Zicatela or La Punta. We went surfing several times in La Punta and it was easy to get there. We also want to thank Luis for his hospitality and kindness. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I would absolutely come back to stay here again!

The house was really beautiful and well looked after. Some parts, like the reception area and the breakfast area could be modernised but it doesn’t affect the environment. The location is great for good restaurants and cafés (and a really nice ice cream shop). It’s the quiet part of Puerto Escondido, with 2 small beautiful bays that are at less than 10 min walk from the hotel. The surfers’ area is close by and easy to reach by taxi. If you like walking, you can also do a walk through the beach.

Nothing very important that affects anyone’s stay. The bedroom was super clean and with a nice decor but the fridge and the tray on top ruined the overall look, as it took a lot of space in a small bedroom.

Absolutely gorgeous property with a lovely pool and a lot of lounge area. Walking distance to the beach and some restaurants. Staff was kind and helpful where possible (not all spoke English but we managed to communicate well!). They had beer and margaritas poolside and a very friendly kitty who hung out with us at the pool.

The first room we got did NOT look like the room we booked. We eventually were moved to a different room but the original room we were put in was definitely not what we selected, the bathroom was completely different and tiny, and the pillows were stained. it was a bit difficult to navigate the switch, they did not seem to want to help or offer anything until we involved booking. That said, the new room was lovely.

The pool and courtyard are incredibly beautiful, calm, and relaxing. Our room was comfy and had a lot of local flavor.

The shower was not warm and had about 8 small streams shooting out of it in all directions. One day the maid accidentally locked the door to the bedroom in our suite, but didn’t tell anyone, and when we asked about it they told us they didn’t have the key to that door – I had to pick the lock with a knife.

The most beautiful, immaculate hotel, every inch of this place has been crafted with thoughtful detail. Hundreds of different colourful flowers and plants, water features, stone decorations… it is truly stunning! We’ve had a wonderful stay, the room is spacious, comfy and clean with great wifi and a good shower. The pool is heaven on a warm day and they make the best pina coladas I think I’ve ever had! The staff are lovely and friendly, they have been really helpful with our needs and questions. They also speak perfect English which is super handy. They recommended a great trip to see the bioluminescence which was like nothing wed experienced before… wow.

Such a peaceful and lovely hotel in Puerto Escondido with a charming design, very friendly staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, nice pool and surroundings, and great location - walking distance to restaurants, cafes and beaches. Also conveniently close to the airport but rarely heard any planes. They kindly stored our luggage before check-in since we arrived a bit early. We loved our stay here and would happily return!

We wish we could have stayed longer than just 1 night! Shower water didn't get too warm in our room but felt fine since the weather was so warm.

The room was spacious and daily housekeeping kept the room clean (very important near a beach). Lovely pool area. The shower in the room was nicely designed. I appreciated having a rack to hang out my clothes to dry outside the room.

Honestly, I chose the cheapest room and it just wasn’t worth what I paid for it. No kitchen, no breakfast option, no balcony and perhaps the worst thing no TV (Netflix only). The room was kept clean during my stay which I greatly appreciated but the one chair that I had in the room was visibly dirty. I also had issues with ants.

This place is fantastic. It is an Oasis - truly… lush greenery, palm trees, flowering trees. It is not a fancy hotel like the Hyatt, it is a genuine local family run hotel where you feel you have lucked into the most special place. In a super safe neighbourhood. 5 minutes walk to the strip with local restaurants and shops, and another 5 minutes to a breathtaking view as you walk down to a well kept, safe to swim family Beach - even beginner surf lessons…. And a short walk to spectacular swim sets every night

Honestly an 11 out of 10. Nothing could have been better…

The first night I was invited to a dinner at the property where one of the bartenders had made an African Dish. The treated me like family. I was blown away by their hospitality. Never in my life had I felt so welcome in a hotel. The hospitality continued through the entire week stay. The owners were always present on the property and the workers were always wanting to help. They helped call taxis, give and make reservations for tours. The cleaning staff was excellent and super friendly . You could tell the owners treated all their employees like family and therefore every worker treated all of the guests in this same manner. The Mong suite I had was much better than the pictures. They are very attentive to all the details and design of the property. The plants at the property stew extensive and well cared for by the family and friends Jo owns the hotel. The property has a very lush landscape. The property is very close to great restaurants yet far enough away so that it is very quiet. I never heard any noises or sounds from neighbors. The hotel reminds me of a hotel where people go and stay to live. It is that special.

Nothing, if you want to party this is not the place. It has a super relaxed and tranquil vibe.

We stayed three nights at Suites La Hacienda. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fresh juice and conducted an efficient check-in. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. The pool clean and inviting. Once we were led to our room, I realized that we were given a room that has not been updated/remodeled like many of the rooms at the hotel. Our room, while large, had some issues. The main issue is that the shower is completely open (no curtain or glass) so water inundated the entire bathroom after the first shower. I immediately requested towels to soak up the water and the staff did not seem surprised by this issue. Another issue we faced was the lack of light in the bedroom at night. I will say that the bed was enormous and comfortable and except for the last night when the AC failed, we rested well.

The shower needs either a curtain or glass. The bedroom needs more light, and the staff, while responsive when needed, seemed lackadaisical and were not picking up after guests by the pool, or offering people drinks, or smiling in general.
