I recently had the pleasure of staying at the magnificent hotel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by Niru and Celine with warm hospitality and a genuine desire to make my stay memorable. The staff at the hotel, under the capable leadership of Manager Ganga, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Any concern or request I had was promptly addressed with utmost care and efficiency. I was also impressed by the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene. Especially in these times, it was reassuring to see the rigorous measures taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the guests. Shout out as well to the restaurant team, sorry I forget your names 🤦🏻‍♂️🙏😅 Overall, my stay at the magnificent hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who will visit Kathmandu, Nepal. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ganga and the entire staff for their exceptional service and for making my stay truly unforgettable.

The Magnificent Hotel lives up to its reputation. Ganga, the manager, goes above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. The hotel is clean and well located. I received an upgrade and the room I stayed in was spacious with all amenities provided and a lovely view. Bed and linens were comfy. Despite surrounding construction, room was peaceful. Breakfast buffet was hearty and included option to order other items. Ganga will help with anything you need outside the hotel and quote prices that are fair and competitive. I really enjoyed my stay here and plan to return.

All good. There isn’t a lift, but staff take care of your bags. If stairs are an issue, request a Lowe floor. Wood floor could be better buffed, but slippers were available so I made use of those. Bathroom floor slightly flooded during showers but dries quickly. You can use a towel as needed or ask staff to help speed up the process.

Oh my goodness!! What can I say? Our stay here was wonderful, from the first contact on Booking.com to our departure. The team are friendly, polite, helpful and always smiling. The breakfast had a nice selection with some extra options you can request. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The location, unbeatable. You are tucked away in a quiet corner at the edge of Thamel (the city center), yet, minutes walking to the hustle and bustle of the town. It's perfect. You have access to all the restaurants and shops nearby while still getting a quiet night's sleep, what's not to like? 🙏🏼 Oh and you get a free airport pick up 🤩

Airport pickup was nice, staff was very nice, early check in was great. They packed us a bagged breakfast for our very early departure the following morning.

Little bit of a hiccup with the airport pickup. Did not see our names with the sign, walked out trying to find it, lots of people trying to get us into their taxi, the gentleman with the sign finally found us, took my bag, walked it 5 meters and placed it in the waiting shuttle and then asked for a tip. I didn't have any money with which to tip him, but it wasn't a pleasant initial experience of Nepal.

Magnificent Hotel is a great place to stay if you are looking for an economical and immersive alternative to big Chain Hotels. It is Tucked down a small lane and around the corner from upscale hotels. Easy walking access to shops, eateries, pharmacy & outfitters. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices. I enjoyed to local Nepal version of yogurt and granola mixed w dried fruits. The hot buffet changes daily but includes a good mix of choices including: pancakes, vegetables, chicken sausage, baked beans etc. My bed was so comfortable, water pressure was great. No complaints! The people who work at Magnificent Hotel are the icing on the cake. They are happy, gracious and always looking for opportunities to serve to improve your visit.

I liked a lot of things about this hotel. I stayed here for over a week. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is well-managed. It's great value, near enough to the main busy section (just a couple minutes away) but also far enough off the main road to be silent. Breakfast is a buffet with anything I wanted including eggs-of-choice. I could sit inside or out, reading or eating. I could watch 24-hour cricket and ask any questions about any innings in any test match ever. That's just for ex-British Empire cricket tragics. English TV stations (CNN, BBC ,...) available in my room. I would so much prefer to stay here than in a giant international you-could-be-anywhere-in-the-world hotel. If I am lucky enough to return, this is where I will book my room.

The room was clean and spacious, had some complimentary items - 3 bottles of water, instant coffee and black tea. The bed sheets and towels were spotless, basic toiletry items are provided. I found the complimentary airport transfer excellent because you do not have to worry about changing money in the airport to pay for the taxi. The driver waited for me right in front of the airport even though I arrived aprox 45 minutes later than arranged. The breakfast rather seems like a lunch. Besides some basic morning stuff, they offer steamed veggies, fried rice, aloo paratha, fried chicken cremwurts etc. The coffee is pretty bad, it's some sort of instant coffee that tastes like hot chocolate. Luckily, you have a really good specialty coffee shop at 50m distance from the hotel. The staff is very helpful, they offered valuable advice and arranged me a taxi at 5AM to the domestic departure terminal for approx. half the price I was offered in the InDrive app. They kept for free my luggage that I did not use for my trek. They also gave me a small packed breakfast when I checked out very early in the morning.

There's a hotel from a big international chain right across the street, they host parties / karaoke / stand up nights and it's a bit noisy up to 22-23h, but definitely quieter than in the Thamel area at night. Restaurant / supermarket prices on the alley on which the hotel is located are slightly hiigher due to the presence of that fancy hotel mentioned earlier. If you walk 5-10 minutes though, you'll find the regular Thamel prices.

I do not often write a long critic, but I will do it in this case, as the hotel actually exceeded all my expectatives. I look for hotels that are Cozy, Comfortable and Clean (My 3C's): this hotel has them all. 1) Excellent free pickup at the airport. Much needed after a long flight. 2) Very clean big room, including windows (rare) and walls (much more rare). The beds are excellent: firm mattress very comfortable dressed with soft cotton very white sheets. I actually slept 14 hours arrow the first night. One of the cleanest hotel bathrooms I've ever had. 3) Good LOCAL breakfast (try the local dishes), although you have cereal, yoghurt, bread, omelets, pancakes and other items to fit western tastes. Sole blackspot: no brewed coffee (instant one instead). But you can go to a very modern mall located just about 100 m. away: for that go to the beginning of the alley, turn left and then immediately right (in a hidden alley), and you will find it. Several coffee shops. I recommend Arabica Coffee Shop and Java Coffee Shop. Both excellent. Open at 9 am. 4) Location is excellent: at the end of a dead-end street. That keeps you away of all the chaos of Kathmandu. As a matter of fact, my room looked partially to the park of Garden of the Dreams. You are only about 5 min away from downtown entrance. 5) No elevator, but someone will be ready to help you with your luggage. 6) Very friendly place. As a matter of fact, everything runs so smoothly because of the constant work of Mr. Gongo, the General Manager. Very servicial and ready to solve any problem. Congratulations. It is because of your work that your hotel exceeded my expectative. I will certainly will be back when in Nepal.

The hotel is new and has everything you need. Rooms are spacious and has a luxurious touch to it. They have a restaurant at the ground floor where the free breakfast is served. It is a great place to meet and mingle with other guests. Room service is also available in case guests want to order from the restuarant. Breakfast was buffet and has everything you need to start your day. Bread, rice, meat, veggies and fruits, juices and coffee/tea, cereals, pancakes etc. The staff were amazing! Very friendly and will cater to every request you would have. The location was perfect! Just a few minutes from the Thamel Square where the action is. (You can find a lot of Japanese, Korean, Chinese restaurants in the Thamel Square. Souvenir shops are also there.) One-time pick up OR drop off from the airport is an added bonus that I have never experienced before and saved me effort and money. And... they have a weighing scale at the reception to check your baggage! How cool and usueful is that. Above all, the hotel manager, Mr Ganga is the best! He goes out of his way to make sure his guests feel welcomed, are comfortable, and having a great time. I had a private tour on my second day, got lost somehow, and when I couldn't contact the driver, he went out of his way and picked me up in his scooter so that I could meet the driver. I've been to quite a few hotels in different countries and Magnificent Hotel in Kathmandu is definitely one of the top 3 hotels I've been. Thanks to everyone especially Mr Ganga for making my stay in Nepal a memorable one.
