This is a beautifully renovated, unique property, which feels like a home away from home. I think I had the upgraded room but it really was gorgeous, with a very comfortable bed, huge bathroom with double sink, facilities for making tea/coffee, loads of TV channels, including NETFLIX, and a minibar. Yes, the stairs are steep, but if you are able to climb stairs, it is so worth it! I did not have breakfast but my colleagues reported that it was great. I really can’t fault this place - such a breath of fresh air after large, generic, corporate chain hotels.
It is a little walk to public transport, but this is an easy place to walk!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Station Amstelveen, and it was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a unique charm that permeated every corner. From the cozy atmosphere to the outstanding service, Hotel Station Amstelveen offers the feeling of home I wish I had growing up. It’s a perfect blend of charm, creativity, and warmth—ideal for families and anyone seeking a whimsical retreat. The decor is meticulously curated, with whimsical touches that invite exploration and spark joy. Each detail, from the art on the walls to the thoughtfully arranged seating areas, tells a story that makes you feel right at home. A truly special aspect of my visit was the children’s book written by the hotel owner, Johan Elfner, "Monsterstation: Kwart over Mist." This enchanting and inspiring story beautifully enhances the magic of the hotel experience. One of the many standout features of our stay was the breakfast. With freshly baked pastries, a variety of local cheeses, delicious lattes, and perfectly executed eggs, Johan truly enhanced each moment with his presence and homemade pastries.

We absolutely loved how quirky and fun this place was. From the steep stair case to the potted plants, to the cute cats. The host was very welcoming, helpful, entertaining and interesting. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast delicious and fresh. Location was just what we wanted, outside the city & more peaceful. We had our own bikes and enjoyed cycling into Amsterdam, it took approx. 30 mins. Would definitely reccomend to stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. We look forward to reading the book!
Nothing we didn't like.

The owners are caring and very interested in making sure their guests are satisfied. Johan makes an excellent breakfast and his son served us a great cappuccino when we arrived very early in the morning from the airport. It is perfect if you are looking for a quiet location near the airport.
Not really a negative, but it is in a historic building that used to be the village train station, now renovated into a boutique hotel. The owners warn you when booking that you have to be able to navigate a steep staircase that is more like a spiral wooden ladder. It has plenty of handles, which I recommend using.

We had a wonderful week in this charming, cute B&B hotel. Johann and Katarina with their son and his girlfriend have lovingly cared for us. They are very hospitable and helpful. With the bicycles from the house you can easily go to the city of Amsterdam in 30-40 minutes. From Amstelveen you can drive in about 30 minutes to the sea, Haarlem, the cheese market in Alkmaar, the island of Marken... In Amstelveen you live quietly and have several restaurants to choose from and a great ice cream parlor within walking distance!
Breakfast was always fresh and tasty, but it could be improved. For example, more variety through daily changing dishes, e.g. Fruit salad, cake, pancakes, nuts on muesli... but that's whining at a high level.

The hotel is located close t the park, just a few minutes walking from the bus. The hotel is a piece of art, designed in an old Train Station building. My room was on the last floor, with a nice view to the park. On the entrence door there was written my name. I didn't order breakfast in advance but I had changed my mind in between and wanted to pay for a coffee with croiassant but instead I got it for free, served in the most magical place downstairs, in a room full of plants and flowers. The hotel was a perefct choice, and I am sure I will come back there with my family.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

What a lovely & charming hotel! Full of character and in a very peaceful spot. We loved the room (and so great to have a big bathtub too), very comfortable bed & thoughtful touches. The cafe downstairs is so charming, full of beautiful plants (all for sale). We went for the breakfast, it was fantastic - fab eggs (from their own chickens), beautiful croissants, yogurt & berries - we couldn’t have asked for more. The couple are really great hosts, very sociable & helpful. We highly recommend this hotel, you won’t be disappointed.

Owners were very accommodating and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was great and all fresh. The dinner menu managed by Hugo and his partner was delicious, home cooked and the service from Hugo was excellent- we enjoyed getting to know him! The room was clean, spacious and serviced daily. No complaints!
Very steep stairs up to the room. We were warned about this so it wasn’t a problem. Not sure anyone with mobility issues or unconfident with heights would cope though! The hosts were very helpful with advice on how to navigate the public transport to get into the centre of Amsterdam. It would of made our lives easier if we were nearer though as after a long day sight seeing, fifty mins to get back was hard work!

The room was cosy and clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom modern. There's a café on the ground floor which is where they serve a very good breakfast. Afternoon tea and cake is available and the owner's son and his girlfriend have started offering dinner if you arrange it ahead of time -- do. You won't be disappointed. It was delicious.
As the hotel makes clear on their website the stairs to the room are very steep. I knew this ahead of time and was traveling light with a backpack rather than a suitcase so for me it was not a problem. Someone with a large, heavy suitcase though might have issues (however, you'd have to be blind to miss the hotel's warnings about this, so it's really on you, if you're not prepared).
