I liked everything about the property! My single room was very clean, beautiful and modern, there was everything needed inside including water, tea, coffee, and even some chocolate! Breakfast was always amazing! Fresh orange juice, cheese, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, and the croissants that the host is baking himself every morning! Franz is an amazing host! He allowed an early check-in and was always helpful in everything I asked for. I plan to visit Amsterdam with my family next time and I will definitely stay at the same place! By the way, it is not far from a metro station, so you can get to the city center pretty easily.

There is nothing I did not like. For elderly people please be aware that there is no elevator so you need to use stairs. I was fine with it as my luggage was not heavy.

The facilities were amazing. Franz was an amazing host. Very welcoming and friendly to talk to. The breakfast service was lovely and had authentic Dutch items which was a great touch.

I had no issue with the hotel. Only a small layout issue with the toilet. It was an open door en-suite right next to the balcony window with tall building nearby so using it, I closed the blind however that was more a preference issue than b&b issue. Besides that no issue at all.

From the moment I arrived, the host made me feel right at home. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly enhanced my stay. Each morning, they prepared a delicious breakfast that was both freshly made and beautifully presented. It was a delightful way to start the day. Additionally, the in-room snacks provided a nice touch for whenever I needed a quick bite. The room was impeccably clean and featured modern amenities that made my stay comfortable. The tasteful decoration added a nice touch to the ambiance. The daily room cleaning service ensured that everything was kept neat and tidy.

Although the accommodation is located just a short walk from the metro station, it is situated outside the city center. As a result, it took around 20 minutes to reach the main attractions of the city. It's something to consider for travelers looking to stay closer to the action. While the quality of the accommodation was top-notch, I found that the room rate was a bit on the higher side, especially considering its location outside the central business district.

Everything was perfect for a few nights in Amsterdam. It is a little way away from the centre, but it was so lovely to have somewhere quiet to come back to. The metro also makes short work of the journey, as I was getting the I Amsterdam card for the museums anyway it didn't cost me anything more to stay further out. The room itself was clean and quiet and incredibly comfortable, everything needed for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. A good selection of tea and coffee in the room was provided (homemade marble cake also appeared in the room at the end of the second day!). Franz's breakfast spread was lovely, he also does the best boiled eggs- you will not appreciate how good they are until you try them.

My only criticism is that the Booking.com ratings does not allow me to properly express how delightful Franz is. Nothing is too much for him. If you like baking and cooking speak to him about it, he made some sublime marble cake whilst I was there!

A very good and modern hotel with very welcoming and friendly stuff. As I came, he showed me to my room and explained how to use all the facilities in it (the shower, the coffee machine, the lights...). He even turned on the heater before I arrived so the room was already warm as I checked in. Breakfast was great too. He asked me what time I was going to be there and made sure the table was set, the hard-boiled egg is ready and warm, and made me coffee. I would definitely recommend this hotel and come back again.

The location is a bit far from the center and requires a 20-min metro ride. The metro is not far away, but with the walk and wait it can waste some time.

Franz was an excellent host. His attention to detail is incredible from my room to the delicious breakfast served with a warm welcome which was really lovely. Breakfast so good, with so many choices, it kept me going to early afternoon. Franz is a considerate host and makes a real effort to ensure you get the most from your trip. The metro close by which is great for access into city. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.

I loved everything about the property.

From the very moment that the owner Franz greeted me at the door with a smile, I knew straight away that I had made the right choice of where to stay. The hotel is stunning, bright, clean, smells wonderful. My room, was extremely comfortable. THE BED 🫶🏽 awwww 🫠 I fell into a deep sleep pretty much straight away. Extremely cosy and snug. He took the time to show me everything and how they worked. From the very stylish shower, all the lights and the TV etc. Complimentary bottles were located in the room along with mini chocolate bars. Very thoughtful. Breakfast was delightful. He really goes over and beyond to make you feel at home. Franz is a very friendly host with good humor. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. When I return to Amsterdam, I know where I will be booking. Thank you for your hospitality Franz. Wishing you the very best XO

That I was not able to stay another night haha.

Super B&B! The room is comfortable and very tidy, every detail is cared of, from towels to essentials. The host is a really nice person, kind and attentive. We could secure our bikes, which is a plus in Amsterdam. Amazing breakfast, with fresh fruit, pastries, sandwiches and everything you can ask for. The stricture is 5 min walking from the metro station, in a quite area of the town. Highly recommended!

If you like to be greeted by a friendly, welcoming host and to be shown to a spotlessly clean, well appointed room then Modern Times is the B&B for you. It is perfect, Franz has thought of everything one could need and even put little extras in the room each day. Breakfast was beautifully presented and plentiful, catering for all tastes. Proximity to a metro station enabling us to reach the centre of Amsterdam in 20 minutes is an added bonus. Thank you so much Franz for making our stay so enjoyable. We would happily return if we visit Amsterdam in the future.

I can’t say enough good things about this property. Franz is an amazing host with a fabulous sense of humour. He took his time to show us every detail of the room and how different things work. The room is immaculate with personnel touches rarely seen in other places. Snacks and drinks replenished daily. The breakfast is also a win with everything you could possibly want. The location was a win for us as it is so close to the metro
