The location is absolutely perfect for visiting Haarlem. It is directly across the street from Saint bravo Church in the heart of the old town. The room was near me enough and had good storage and a clean bathroom. They are painting the entire property from head to toe. Carpet is absolutely terrible and needed to be replaced 10 years ago, but they have it on the list of things they will be doing. Next-door is a high-end restaurant with absolutely delicious food. It truly is the heart of Harlem. Easy to get to from Amsterdam with a quick 20 minute train and then the number 300 bus to the first bus stop from the Harlem station. Easy walk of about five minutes after that.We paid double because we were there during Kings day. Everything was expensive so there wasn’t much we could do about it. We will definitely go back.

Carpet

The hotel is located in the historic downtown, with some of the most beautiful sights within reach, but also close enough to public transport - the railway station is within walking distance that can conveniently be covered even with luggage. The room was clean, with convenient space for unpacking luggage, and a proper desk for occasional work. Also, a kettle and a refrigerator are part of the equipment available. Free wifi worked well for me - all in all, the hotel is excellent for business travel, but also for city trips spanning some days.

The hotel is located in several interconnected historical buildings, with steep stairs leading to some of the rooms. These are difficult to navigate with a larger piece of luggage - it may be best to contact the hotel beforehand and ask if easier-to-access rooms are available.

Lovely place: beautifully decorated lobby and entrance, updated room. Literally across from the gorgeous Grote Kerk! Lots of restaurants in the plaza around the church; easy walking distance through picturesque alleys, to nearby museums & tourist info, and down major shopping street Grote Houtstraat (which includes supermarket Albert Heijn and other useful shops as well). Super helpful, pleasant staff. Lovely breakfast at the facility; also has restaurant and bar for dinner on site. They kept our luggage for us our last day. About half an hour's walk from the Haarlem train station. Shower was hot and beds were comfy and altogether it was a wonderful place to stay!

Great location! About a 10 minute walk from the train station and just behind the St. Bavo Church. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Also, I accidentally left my passport AND my car keys in the room's safe and it was so easy and efficient to have them send them back to my home, which was a huge relief. The room was spacious and clean, the restaurant was great when I got back to the hotel hungry after walking around all day and other restaurants were already closed for lunch. I'd definitely go back.

Some other reviews mentioned the noise. I was on the inner-courtyard side, so it wasn't too much of a problem. Some noise in the hallway from other guests, but obviously not the fault of the hotel. I guess it could have been a bit noisy, but obviously not enough to have made a negative impact on me. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in the vicinity which one of the advantages of the location, but obviously could contribute to reviews about the noise.

The hotel has a fabulous location in the centre of town and it’s about a 10-15 minute easy walk from the train station. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do more to help. Room large, fridge, kettle, beds very comfy, nice linen, lovely hot shower. Due to town centre location it’s busy in the evening so some noise in evening and early hours as people going home. Some great restaurants in Haarlem nearby. Also it’s an old building so whilst there is a lift our room meant a climb up some steep stairs.

Great location in the heart of Haarlem, surrounded by very nice restaurants and coffee shops. Room was comfortable and clean. I had a nice coffee machine in the room. There was a gentleman at the desk when I arrived at 7am, and he was very helpful. His name was Ozcan. He was courteous and understanding of the fact that I had just landed in Amsterdam and agreed to give me an early check in but at an additional price.

The lady at the check in desk was a bit abrupt but her attitude stems from the fact that she thinks she did me a favor by allowing me to check in at 11am instead of 3pm for which I paid an extra Euro 20...

Excellent location in the beautiful heart of Haarlem. The entrance, lobby and reception was beautiful and the bar was also very nice. Our room was large , we had a family room. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

The courtyard area , we passed through on or way to our room ,was scruffy and needed tidying. Our room itself was a perfect size for our needs. 3 adults. It needed refurbishment however. The carpet was wall paper and the furnishings looked dated. There were a couple of damp stains on the ceiling too. The bathroom was nice and clean but the shower drained slowly and led to it overflowing the lip bordering the shower compartment. 2 flights of Steep stairs didn't inconvenience us but I could see this being an issue for others perhaps.

Very pleasant stay! Certainly recommend. Brilliant location. It was explained that we could leave our bikes in their closed courtyard which is only accessible to hotel guests. They explained how to get to it. We went up lots of stairs and had a fabulous view overlooking Lange Veerstraat. I love people watching so this was great! Overall brilliant.

A tiny moan. We arrived at the hotel after cycling for 20 odd miles and were quite tired. My friend walked in to reception with his bike and someone shouted not to bring it in. It must be a cultural thing in the Netherlands as we experienced it somewhere else too. We did not know though and we were not keen on leaving our bikes unattended outside whilst we checked in. They are expensive road bikes.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was large…comfortable bed, small seating area, desk and safe and right in the centre of the old town next to the huge church. Lots of bars and cafes nearby. I chose Haarlem as I did not want to stay in Amsterdam. Great choice, as Haarlem is a lovely town and not as crowded as the capital and easily accessible by train. We loved it

The bathroom was dated and needed upgrading. The shower itself was good but only had a shower curtain instead of a full cabinet and so the whole floor flooded when you showered. Annoying!

Location is perfect, right on the old town square and directly across from the central square church. A morning market is set up most days a one minute walk from the hotel entrance. Cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, photo spots are all right there!

The building seemed to be two or more historic buildings that had been connected, so the floors were not even and we often took a half set of stairs in the middle of a halway. The hotel gym is well equipped but mixed with storage, so I worked out with boxes and extra chairs around me, which was less professional then other hotels.
