It's a historical building in the middle of the town overlooking one of the many cute squares. The room was comfortable but a little old-fashioned (which I think adds to the ambiance). Very good value for money.

After reading the online reviews, I was a bit afraid of the bathroom condition but once I arrived I thought everything was okay. A bit old but not dirty. The curtain at the bathroom window however looked rather improvised. But overall not too bad.

Location near train station, on a public square and nestled between canals was convenient and interesting. Lots of restaurants, windmills and canal tours. University and museums are also close by. A pro and a con: the corner outside the hotel seemed to be the epicenter of soccer semi finals celebration! Room 17 has lots of windows, twin beds and refrigerator.

Only one window opens but, with the fan going, it wasn't too stuffy. Not sure how it would be in a heat wave. Hotel desk isn't staffed 24/ 7 and you need to use an outdoor key most of the time. Just inconvenient if you've got someone meeting you in the lobby.

the bathtub!! very difficult to find the bathtub in the hotel at Leiden. if you can walk by yourself with your luggage, this hotel locate at the center of Leiden, 5 min walk from the Leiden Central station. 1min walk to the restaurant and 24 hr small supermarket. the hotel reception close at 21:00 but my arrival was 0:00. they kindly waited for my call to open the door. Thank you!!

this is rather old hotel and there is no elevator and stairs are nallow. if you need the assistance, this hote is not the choice.

It is located really central in between the train station and the centre of Leiden. Despite the central locations the rooms are quite large especially when you travel alone. It is also worth noting that this is my second stay, which I wouldn't have done here if the first stay was not up to par.

They didn't provide me with a card to indicate I didn't want my room cleaned. This means the room was cleaned which I didn't think was needed.

The staff were friendly The rooms were relaxing and mine included a book of what to do in the Hague which helped me plan my later trip. It's also a nice addition for a browse! Liked that there was a rulebook, shows professionalism and it doesn't go unnoticed. Loved that there was a selection of tea and coffee available for free in the room. Decorations in the room were just enough and made the room cozy. Rooms and bathroom was clean. Loved that there was a bath with my room so I could have a relaxing getaway! The porch area was nice, I'm sure it would be more enjoyable during warmer months (I visited in October).

Some of the tiles are a bit wobbly when walking through the patio/porch area. It wasn't an issue for me, but maybe for others it would be. The key system was difficult for me as a young person (an old system). I even had to ask for additional support because I couldn't figure it out. My bath plug was impossible to unplug once plugged and almost broke a nail trying to do it as a result, I left the bath full of water upon checking out. Overall, this didn't affect the overall quality of my stay as it was a relaxing getaway for me. But if people expect perfection this isn't it.

Great location! Very cozy and comfortable seating area. Huge room, very unexpectedly huge, 3 beds although we booked 2. Staff was happily smiling and nice. We had two extra wishes and they happily fulfilled our wishes. Feeling like visiting family instead of a hotel. Restaurants, and all kind of tourist attractions around us.

You have to be aware that this hotel is very central. So if you want to leave the balcony door open at night for fresh air, it can get a bit loud. In the evening it’s humans being loud and in the morning it’s birds screeching. But I had worse. And this was for us a totally acceptable noise level in exchange for being so central.

I had an amazing time staying at this hotel. The double room is extremely spacious, with a generous mini-fridge and coffee machine. Large bathroom with a nice bathtub. The rooms was cleaned every morning, with fresh supplies. The location is just great, close to all the important attractions in Leiden. Highly recommended.

Since it is so central and surrounded by bars and pubs, it can get a bit noise at night sometimes - but nothing too bad. The rooms are super spacious, but I think they would highly benefit from a lift-up in terms of new furniture. The wifi works, but sometimes can be a little slow.

The location was good. The room was spacious and there was a coffee maker woth capsules left, which they refilled after cleaning. The staff was friendly. I found the bed comfortable.

There was elevator and the steps were a bit too narrow. It could have been written in the description but I'm unsure. The hotel hasn't been renovated in awhile and it shows.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well lit, with three windows giving views over Leiden, the De Valk windmill, and the immediate vicinity (the Beestenmarkt and Galgewater canal). The windows in the en suite bathroom (with an actual bath) open on to a fire escape. The hotel is within easy walking distance both of Leiden Centraal Station and of the heart of the old city.

The price of the view from our admirable room was the climb up and down three flights of steep stairs. However, this was the only drawback, and we accept it as a common characteristic of older Dutch buildings.

The location was amazing! Right in the heart of Leiden! The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We came too early but was still able to check in and leave our bags without a problem so that we don't need to be carrying them around while going around the city. We also left too early the next day and it was hassle-free to leave the keys in a box.

The room had a strong smell that wasn't so nice and it felt that the air was stale. We opened the window in the bathroom to let air circulate and remove the smell but that was not enough. The stairs were so narrow and tight. It was fine going up with a backpack but I can imagine it would be horrible going up with a big luggage. The sound wasn't also isolated even though the windows in the room cannot be opened. We can hear everything going on in the streets.
