We arrived by bicycle after a visit to Keukenhof Gardens and received a warm welcome from the lovely staff & hotel owner. They offered us to keep our bikes in the courtyard. The room was fabulous. The bed was so big and comfy and the shower was just AMAZING! Everything was clean with fluffy soft towels. Fridge with some soft drinks provided and proper coffee machine in the room was a nice touch. Just a short walk to a variety of restaurants to eat in the evening in the lovely town of Lieden. We enjoyed the check out time of 11am so we didn’t feel rushed in the morning of our departure. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay very relaxing.

Outstanding little hotel in a city where there is no abundance of hotels. That being said, it is really a pleasure to enjoy the hospitality of the Breathe hotel and its amazing staff. Yes, the rooms are nice and comfortable, yes everything is spotless, yes the coffee machine in the lobby produces great coffee, but by far the most impressive are the staff. Those young people are truly friendly, well mannered, with perfect English, very enthusiastic about their job, completely knowledgable about their town of Leiden, and jovial about their job. Congratulations to the HR who chose such outstanding group of young people to work there.

I would probably be happier if there was a regular breakfast option. But than again, I would not be able to enjoy a walk and breakfast at the Leiden center.

The hotel was in an attractive and peaceful part of Leiden by a canal. The room was very comfortable and quiet and made good use of the space. The bed was very large and comfortable and the thick curtains ensured that we had a good night's sleep. The staff were friendly.

The cleaning staff automatically changed our towels so I had to ask them specifically not to, which unfortunately made them think that we didn't want them to clean our room. Later, when I needed one towel to be changed, they changed the whole lot uneccessarily. It would be good if the hotel could adopt a policy like some other hotels whereby staff don't change the towels unless guests put them on the floor. This would be much better for the environment and save the hotel money which could be reflected in the room price.

It is in a fantastic location—it is easy to walk to everything in the center of Leiden. Yet the room itself is SO quiet, and you cannot hear outside noise (we were on the ground floor with windows to the street). The staff was exceptionally accommodating and helpful when we arrived earlier than check-in and throughout the trip. The room and bed were very comfortable. I wish we had made better use of the kitchenette! It's a great feature of the room. Great espresso machine in the lobby. Highly recommend! There were parking spots in front.

The Hotel staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and had a high end finish. The price was very affordable and it was an ideal location to stroll through the town. I would absolutely stay again and the corporate rate is very competitive

There wasn't anything I didn't like

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, quiet room, daily housekeeping, including on Sunday. New bathroom, beautiful and functional, very good shower. The mini kitchen helped a lot. Very friendly and attentive staff. I just point out that the room was for 2 people, the kitchen with 2 pieces of everything, but it only had one chair, so one of us needed to eat sitting on the bed (which wasn't a problem, but there could have been one more chair).

The stay was great. The heater was noisy, but not unbearable. What I think is important to mention is that we stayed on the second floor, and I don't remember seeing on the website that the hotel doesn't have an elevator, just very narrow stairs.

My husband and I rolled into Leiden on our bikes and had the absolute pleasure of checking into this amazing quaint boutique hotel. The individual at the main desk who greeted us and checked us in was great to deal with, and upon entering our room (the loft at the very top), we were beyond pleased. There were several stairs but the climb was so worth it!!! So much space, bright and exceptionally clean, decorated tastefully and well, and so comfortable. The suite had a Nespresso, kettle, fridge, microwave, and all the necessary amenities. In addition, the provided toiletries were lovely!! This place absolutely exceeded all of our expectations, and we would definitely book back here again when traveling through. It's absolutely fabulous!!!

Residential location with easy access for taxis to and from the hotel. Staff very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Room clean, spacious well equipped with kitchen and air con. Cleaned and bed made everyday.

We were on the top floor overlooking the courtyard, the outside lights shining up during the night lit up the room a little even though there were blackout curtains. This was only a problem as I am a light sleeper and my partner was not affected at all!

Lovely location just outside the busy centre, but only a few minutes walk back to shops and restaurants. Rooms were light and airy, clean and comfortable. Lovely relaxing stay with all the little extras to make everything easy. Staff could not be more helpful! Everyone we spoke to was able to offer help and suggestions (in fantastic English as well!) We would definitely stay here again! Recommend hiring bikes - reception will sort this for you with ease!

Shower screen was fitted slightly oddly so it was easy to flood the bathroom. Breakfast quite expensive - but the hotel is so close to cafes it's easy to do your own thing instead.

The hotel is set in a lovely house set by a canal in a very picturesque and quiet part of Leiden. Our suite faced the canal, and we enjoyed the view. The room could have been larger, but it contained a mini-kitchen with fridge and microwave. This was useful as the hotel is some distance from restaurants, and we were often too tired to go out to eat. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Management are still putting some final improvements to what is a new hotel, and adding some storage which was a bit lacking Continental breakfast was served in the room. There was a good selection, but it was expensive
