I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel de Wereld. I was not aware that it had such an interesting history and I enjoyed the info displays that give you more info about the historic place that you are staying at. Each room has a different inspiring theme (eg. Gandhi, Vaclav Havel, Malala Yousafzai) which is a nice touch. The facilities were also excellent. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfy and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, I could not make use of the restaurant options as I was visiting for a conference but hope to do so in the future. The location is very convenient near shops, a gym and bus stops. It is just under 2km from most of the main university buildings, which is perfect when going to conferences. It is also close to some lovely nature areas (Arboretum Belmonte, Wagningse Berg, rivers, etc) that make for nice strolls or runs in the area.

Things got a bit noisy during the evening, but that is the combination of an old building and inconsiderate guests so not really anything that could be improved on by the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly located in Wageningen to walk into the old city or to other parts of the city. Parking is just behind the hotel at no cost. Everyone needs to have tried out sitting in the swing next to the hotel at the main street, when the sun is going down. Marvelous.

Only that the shower water pressure was so low, that I had to stand next to the wall for getting wet. I hope this is solved in the future.

Historic building as the location of the surrender of the German army in the Netherlands at the end of WWII. Lots of photos and information. Large well appointed room. Excellent restaurant on premises.

It was hot while I was there and the small air conditioner was not up to the task of cooling the room. But the fact that there was an air conditioner at all is unusual for a European hotel.

+ Very nice little hotel with history, it felt homier than those big chain hotels. + friendly and professional staff. + rooms are big, clean and uniquely styled. The AC is very convenient in the summer. + It is a traditional small town hotel but the staff all speak excellent English.

- If I have to pick something then I would say that I wish I could open the window to save some energy. - Would not hurt to put an ashtray for guests outside of the hotel, had to use the staff table and felt I was disturbing them.

Courteous hotel staffs, good wifi connection, lightings were sufficiently bright, quiet surroundings even though the room was facing the city, convenient location as it was near to the shops and bus station. Unique boutique hotel.

The 2-step stairs leading to the room. Perhaps, the hotel could consider having a small ramp.

Room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff attentiveness was impeccable. Free parking was a nice addition as well. Good food in the restaurant and the bar was cozy and inviting. On top of this, it is located in an important building for WWII and Dutch history.

Can't think of anything negative. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We really loved everything about this charming hotel, which totally exceeded our expectations. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the meals were delicious, and the whole atmosphere of the place was just lovely. Would highly, highly recommend!

The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The bath room was well-equipped and had space as well. Many details in the room were well-thought.

Lack of place to hang clothes was a minus.

Lovely rooms each based on a well known person, spacious and comfortable. We were in the Vaclav Havel room with memorabilia about the Czech leader. Restaurant excellent, expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Breakfast also good. Staff very helpful.
