Convenient, clean, best equipped motel we have used on our trip.

A bit small if we were staying more than 1 night-

The rooms are spacious, clean, you get everything you need and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms might look a bit outdated, but they have all one needs. The location is 2-3min from the lake and 7-8min from the city centre (walking distance). The manager was the most welcoming host we have encountered in NZ, thank you for being so nice and kind. Also, the playground was much appreciated by our daughter.

Just one minor thing, either the towels were brand new or it was just the colour of them (dark blue), but when trying to use them, they would leave lots of lint on the skin.

I appreciated the good pots and towels. The area is quiet, further it depends on the tourists who come and how much they transit or not in front of our door and window. It is right in the central area of Te Anau and close to the lake, so, from this point of view, it has a good advantage.

I chose the motel because it had a good rating and 4 stars, even if the price was higher than other accommodations I stayed in. It's true, it's the first time I've stayed in a motel. We thought that, whatever it is called, the price paid makes the difference. It is ok, decent, and tries to provide everything you need for your stay. But we expected to see something more beautiful, a little more elegant, a higher class. I can't say that anything was missing - maybe, since we stayed 4 nights, it would have been good if someone cleaned for us. The sofa would need replacement. There is a very high turnover of tourists, as we noticed in the 4 days, and some things degrade more easily.

Second stay here, last in October 2022. I had the same upstairs studio which was very comfortable and well equipped. Excellent en suite with good soaps and towels. I particularly liked the terrace area with seating. The owners are very pleasant and clearly take pride in the progress they have made with the motel. Te Anau is relatively tranquil with some very good eateries and home to a bird sanctuary protecting endangered birds including Takahē. Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound excursions are readily available from Te Anau,, both excursions taken and enjoyed so all in all it was a great experience.

Really close to downtown and lake front, you can take a slow walk to get some distraction. Staff was kind and had a small talk about my country. :) Well-equppied kitchen and good ventilate makes everything all right. All of us really like this place.

We loved our stay at the Alpine View Motel! The first room we stayed in had some problems with the heating, but the staff was SO helpful! They fixed it a couple times, including in the middle of the night, and ultimately moved us into a different room (and even gave us wine for the trouble!). The location is great to walk around Te Anau, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. There's even a playground for the little ones! Would highly recommend.

It was very close to the lake and Centre of town, it was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. John on reception was extremely welcoming and gave us a little pint of milk to start us off. He was so accommodating and helpful. Disney + was great! Great value for money

Decor was a little dated but didn’t spoil our comfort or enjoyment

Location good and easy to walk to and from the lake and township. Staff very helpful and were able to answer all our questions. We walked the Kepler track and they were very helpful and happy for us to leave the car safely on site. We were a family of 5 and the room we stayed in was good and comfortable. This was our return trip. Being able to dry our gear safely outside while we relaxed to recover was great.

warm welcome and amazing managers! When we arrived, my kids checked if there was a football ball on the premise. they could not find one but probably the site manager heard them. after a while we went o a nearby shop to buy all we needed. the kids noticed a football ball, I told them we could buy them. after a while in the shop , I see my kids came going to the cashier with a lady and then they got a football ball !! the lady was the Alpine View Motel manager who came to the shop just to buy the ball for my kids !! we did not ask for it , we could not even imagine it … this was an amazing gesture from someone showing not only warm hospitality but great empathy and kindness. My kids will always remember this, great example for them. thank you Alpine View Hotel!
