The accommodation is a block of studio apartments built inside the grounds of a caravan / campervan / camping site. The apartments were in good condition, comfortable, sunny most of the day, had balconies overlooking the lake & had a great view of the lake. There are at least 3 self-service laundries in the complex.

We had a few minor issues eg. limited cutlery (eg. one 1 knife .. a very large carving knife) & flaky wifi. My wife's main gripe was that the accommodation cost over NZ$250 a night & was described by the operator as 5 star but there was no service apart from replacement of towels (if this was requested). Hence, no room service, no replacement of shampoo, etc. Some people may not like the fact that you have to drive 200mtrs past huts & campervans to get to the apartment. Also, if you don't have a car, the location is approx 15 minutes walk from cafes, restaurants & shops ... although the resort sells decent coffee plus packaged sweets.

Motel looks & feels new, located at Te Anau lake front. View from unit 11 (upper level) was absolutely fabulous! The 2 bedroom unit can easily accomodate 5 based on bedding configuration, shared area is spacious, unit was super clean & has a kitchehette. Check in was efficient. Parking is plentily available as the ground is also used for camping & motor vans

Shared laundry facility. Would have thought the deluxe family room can be equipped with washing machine & dryer Bedrooms can get chilly at night. No electric bedwarmers 😔

Incredible view, lovely linens, comfortable bed, clean and well equipped nicely decorated room. Great value for the view and nice large room. The motel is located at end of the lake and is an easy walk into town.

Immaculate property with show stopping views. everything really well appointed and spotlessly clean. very spacious. staff were super friendly and helpful.

The tiny rough towels, cheap toilet paper and budget toiletries are not consistent with advertising for a 5 star property. The caravan park amenity offerings shouldn’t be used in this component of the facility. The finishing touches do need more careful consideration.

As the sun when down & the room got cold we tried to get the heat pump going. this proved problematic. the air was cold even if we put up to 26 degrees and we gave it 15 mins to heat up. The remote was unreadable, the screen was not working so difficult to make sure we were doing it right we tried to talk to someone but the reception had closed. you had to ring a 0800 number which would get back to you the next day. i sent a message through Booking.com app which they relied to the next day. we went out for kai & came home and it was working. no idea how that happened and it wasn’t the staff as I said above we heard from them the next day. so the inability to communicate with someone was a turn off.

Beautiful view across the lake which was nice. You could easily walk into town from here. Clean and comfortable.

Accommodation prices have gone up since covid and this was the nicest place I could find for a reasonable price of $215 for 2 bedroom motel. I don’t begrudge that as covid has hit businesses hard. The pillows were awful and I was surprised there were no electric blankets on the beds in winter and no extra blankets. Lucky I had taken a hot water bottle as I was cold. There was a heat pump in the bedroom though so that was a godsend!

Great views, clean good kitchen facilities (except no champagne glasses 😊). 15 min walk into town centre.

Was on a relatively busy road (for rural Otago) so mild traffic noise.

Very new and modern accommodation. Well maintained and clean. Comfortable room and beds. The view of the lake from the lounge and bedroom is stunning on a fine morning. Loved the sliding doors in both the lounge and the master bedroom that could slide completely open for un obstructed view of the lake and the snow capped mountains. Only a short 5~10 minutes leisurely stroll to town centre along the lake. Good strong free WiFi reception. Staff were friendly and helpful with activity booking. Highly recommend this place if you are after a relaxing stay with an unobstructed view of the lake and the mountains.

It was described as “deluxe”, however the finishes were not deluxe and the servicing as minimal and it was overpriced. Anyone who is not up to walking the distance into town would have to drive there.

Lovely rooms, perfect for a family stay. Convenient for the lake, with stunning views but only away from all other town amenities. Great beds and bathroom. Very clean and neat and well thought out.

The lighting /ambience could be improved with table lamps in the sitting room.
