Absolutely perfect in every way. My wife and I stayed in the newer suite looking out at the mountains. Robin the manager was outstanding and helpful in every way. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again

Motel Owner was very helpful and accommodating. I had a great time in this motel and provide me with helpful tips to dine and attraction in Te Anau. In addition the kitchen equipment was complete and that allow us to prepare our dinner. Even the Parking is a reserved slot. I didn't know that Te Anau has so many more activities or else I would have stay longer and definitely it will be in Red Tussock Motel.

Setting the heating was a bit confusing for me to use as I do struggle to adjust the right temperature. Since it was a change in weather I decided to switch it off and layer up to sleep without it. Other than that the motel does really meet all my requirements and needs.

It was obvious a lot of work has gone into making/keeping the rooms clean. My room was almost spotless with little visible wear - not an easy task with older furniture and decor that I’m sure has had a lot of use. The host was very helpful - he knows how everything runs in the area and can answer all your questions. He took the time to explain where everything in my room was and how it all worked.

The mattress in the bedroom I had is badly in need of replacing. Also, I turned on one of the heated mattress covers to high and soon noticed an unpleasant odour. The smell went away after I turned it down/off.

The location is great - its about a 10 minute walk from the main centre but it is a very pleasant walk. Robin the host was great, he showed us to our room on arrival. The room was nice and roomy and was very clean. We booked a standard room with balcony which was nice to sit out on in the afternoon. There are also individual parks for each unit which was great. There is a small laundry onsite which we utilised so that was quite handy.

Great base for one night in Te Anau. The host Robin was so friendly and helpful with tips for dinner and activities and the property. It was about a 10 minute walk along the lake to get to the "CBD" with lots of dining options and shopping. The property is a bit older but for the price it's a good value, clean and comfortable.

Old and basic TV with limited channels and no smart TV capability. This was fine for us for 1 night but keep in mind if that's important to you.

The place we got was huge! Heaps of space in the upstairs 3 br townhouse style place. It could sleep 8 people if needed.

Exhaust fans in toilet and shower would be advisable. Having said this, only 1 place out of 6 places we stayed over a 2 week period in NZ had exhaust fans, which is weird coming from Australia where such fans are in every toilet and shower. Its also strange considering NZ is a cold country - you would think you would want the option to have the fan on, instead of having to open the exterior window to get ventilation when its freezing outside. i suspect this is a cultural thing, but still i advise to have exhaust fans installed in such a large place where 8 people could be toileting and having showers.

This place was clean and comfortable. The owner/manager is so sweet and friendly and he made us feel welcome. He lives there on property so is always available (but please don’t abuse that privilege because he is such a nice man). You can walk across the street to the beach area of the Te Anau lake. The whole town is delightful and friendly. We wanted to never leave. You will find yourself dreaming of quitting your job and moving there permanently.

Robin was very helpful. He brought us to the apartment and explained all of the things in the apartment. Due to our traveling schedule, we were not able to use the washing machine during its operation hours (8am to 7pm). However, Robin let us use the washing machine outside of the normal hours and lent us the drying rack. Our apartment is huge, it has 2 double beds and 4 single beds. It's clean too.

Some of the furniture is a bit outdated but it's clean.

The manager, Robin, is very friendly and helpful. He even managed to get some last minute tickets for us on a cruise to Doubtful Sound for the next day. The room we stayed in was new with first class facilities. - the best we have stayed in so far during our tour of NZ. We are very happy to recommend this motel.
