Room photos on Booking.com (as of Nov 2022) are not the updated/refurbished representation of the lodge. It is set in a beautiful location, and only a 2 min drive from Hupper Hutt CBD. The rooms have recently been refurbished to a good standard and are spacious, even when we added in a travel cot there was still ample room to move around the room without falling over each other or luggage. The small kitchenette has a microwave and full size under the counter fridge which was clean, with complimentary milk for the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate provided. We were able to check in early and the staff, were really friendly and helpful. It was really nice to be able to sit out back and enjoy the fresh air in the private grounds.

It could get quite noisy at certain points at night with people coming back and letting doors slam, maybe some signs asking for others to be considerate as it doesn't seem to come naturally to some!?

This was our second overnight stay here. The first night I called at 5pm desperate for a room for my mother and one for my husband, myself, and our two children. They had two rooms for us that were absolutely gorgeous. We arrived at 6.30 tired from packing up our house and Rainbow was an absolute delight. She was so friendly and welcoming. The landscape is stunning with immaculate gardens. It felt like a beautiful retreat before we drove 12 hours the next day. A few weeks later my husband and I had to drive to Wellington for a night and immediately booked in here. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with gorgeous garden views. You feel incredibly private and it is so quiet. There are great facilities in the rooms with cooktop, kettle, plunger, teapot all provided and toasters on request. The TV was set up with TVNZ on demand and Netflix. We intend to stay here each time we are back in Wellington and can't wait to have a bit more time there in future to relax in the beautiful setting.

If I'm very fussy the car parks are quite narrow but there are ample carparks so you're never stuck.

Such a beautiful place, Rainbow was so accomodationg and arranged after hours easy check in. We were also left chocolates and a sweet note as it was an anniversary get away for my partner & I - she went that extra mile! Room was amazing, comfortable and views were lovely. Would highly reccomend, nice & close to brew town too! Free parking is also great. Will be back!! :)

Bathroom counter had toothpaste on it still, otherwise everything was super clean and wasn't too worried just gave it a quick clean

We stayed in Room 06 on the ground floor adjacent and below the Reception area. Loved the native bush surrounds and the easy vehicle access onsite. Spacious, tidy and well kept room, with ample space for our party of 3. The host alluded to a "shortcut" we could use in order too gain faster walking access to BREW TOWN (our reason for staying) and it was literally less than a 8 min walk.

Would be ideal to have some interior curtains on the inside to provide privacy so you didn't have to close the blinds and darken the room. Door into the Toilet / Shower was jamming and didn't quite fully close but with a bit of poking and adjusting we had it sorted. Not a major but worth possibly looking into.

The location was perfect, just 2 minutes to the centre of town, but it felt like you were out in the country.. The room was lovely and clean and had plenty of space.

There was a lot of light from various appliances e.g. the router was on top of the tv, which was opposite the bed and it was flashing all night. There was also light coming in from under the door.

Accomodating to our needs. Late check in. Early departure. Additional night booking. Comfortable beds. Clean & tidy. Lovely house keeping. Very friendly. Nice and peaceful.

Extractor fan didn't work well. Sliding door to toilet hard to close. Rm6 Welcome books require updating. Say more about facilities. An electric frying pan would be great. Slow wifi.

I slept in a single bed. The mattress was past it's best and was unstable. The tv instructions were inaccurate. I had to get reception to come down and get the tv going. The motel is ok, quite basic but everything is there and above all is very clean and tidy. The setting is nice but we didn't check out what other features the complex had. Would consider staying there again as it is fit for purpose.

Bed, although clean and reasonable comfortable. The mattress was passed it's best.

Immaculate grounds which was also evident in the rooms - super comfy beds and the heater in the room made it even more plesant. The kids were also spoilt with Youtube on the TV. Rainbow as so lovely and helpful as well. The setting of the room looking up into the mountain was just delightful.

Nothing, it's close enough to town but out of the way so it's nice and quiet.

I liked the room, it was large, and the balcony was nice. Great shower

I didnt appreciate all the little notes everywhere, there were 2 about how to use the handwash in the bathroom, one about too many fire call outs so the toaster was available on request.. it was too many dont do this messages

Very nice accommodation and very comfortable and clean nice surroundings.

Was a little out of town if you don't have a car and nowhere close to have breakfast. This would not be a problem if you had a car. We came out from Wellington on the train so wr had a bit of walking to do .
