Architecture - quiet & close to a park. Lovely artefact / antique collection. Excellent breakfast.
No lift & spiral staircase. Difficult to manoeuvre luggage. From main train station quite a steep up hill walk which could be a challenge for some. Good location if you are fit and mobile. About 10-15mins walk to Bryggren.

Everything was great. I had an amazing view of the city from my window. The room and the bed were comfortable, with enough space for the guest. The building itself is stylish, though inside you can see its age, which makes the place special. Also the location is very tourist friendly, within a walking distance of city attractions, the station, and near the park. The staff were really helpful and hospitable, breakfast was tasty ( especially home made granola and bread, and you have a variety of foods to choose from). All day you can grab a tea or a coffee and enjoy freshly baked brownie. The place is really worth recommending.
The only thing you need to keep in mind is the fact that there is no lift, so you need to walk and carry your luggage, but for me that was not a problem at all

A really lovely hotel in a great location, this is a charming place to stay. The breakfast was excellent and the brownies a real treat. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and well equipped. An added bonus is that the hotel backs onto a lovely park, perfect for an after dinner or early morning stroll.
Our original request for a twin room hadn't reached the hotel but reception was really helpful and managed to find a vacant twin room. I think the issue was with Booking.com's system rather than the hotel and would advise others to contact the hotel in advance to make sure that any specific requests have been received.

Great experience overall. You can feel the quality of materials used, although it is a bit older everything still looks great. It is clean and has its unique atmosphere of an old quirky hotel. The heating is working great, which is often a problem in Norway. View from the upstairs rooms is amazing. Downstairs in the breakfast area, you can get yourself a cup of tea and a snack all day free of charge. The breakfast itself was delicious with a nice variety of products. I had a little issue with a lost item, but the communication with the front desk and all the staff was amazing, and they did what they could do to resolve it. I would only suggest that you clearly state whether you want cleaning in your room or not.
Just to let you know, it is on the hill, and there is no elevator, so overall, it is a bit of a workout to get to your room but I would definitely say it was worth it and will come back in the future.

Breakfast was lovely but staff a little too eager to pack everything away on the dot of 9:30 making for a very rushed experience on days when you feel like trying to relax a little. Lovely selection of teas and nice to come back to teas and brownies after a busy day.
On one occasion there was no one covering reception at 5:30pm.They even took the bell away so that you couldn't call anyone. (We wanted to borrow some plates and knives). Very efficient but not overly friendly. Always felt like they were keen for us to go out.

The staff were excellent. Bus information and directions to Hotel were sent in answer to a direct email - including advising on the steep hill! Staff were also extremely helpful in answering any questions and making bookings where possible. Breakfast was a good choice of cold options but the only warm option was the same scrambled egg every day. Replacement towels and toilet rolls were freely available in the hallway outside the rooms.
Be aware that every excursion in to town requires a steep climb back up. Room was very small, which is not really an issue, but the only storage for clothes etc. is a short rail with a few hangers - no shelf, drawer, or cupboard space. There is no glass provided in the room, and no bottled water. The bathroom was tiny with the shower being integral to the room. There was just a small glass screen to one side - inevitably the floor in front of the w.c. will get splashed as will the wash hand basin and the unit around it. The wall in front of the w.c. is VERY close to it - mind your head when standing up!

Great room although there appeared to be a number of electrical sockets that weren't working which meant the fridge didn't work. This was not rectified during our stay which was unfortunate but didn't really cause a problem. Good breakfast and the hot chocolate that a member of staff made for us after the concert was fabulous and very much appreciated!
If the fridge had worked that would have been great as there are no meals served here beyond breakfast, which we knew and accepted, and we could have kept food fresh to make lunches etc.

This was our second stay at Park Hotel Bergen and we loved it. The quaint, family run hotel is a perfect place to call home away from home. The breakfast buffet is delicious with many choices. Beds, linens and pillows very comfortable for a restful sleep. Great location to town and university, museums and shops.
It would be nice to have the twin bed room #11 converted to a queen size bed for couples or have twins that could be joined together. A very minimal complaint!

A quiet Parkside location away from the Hussle and bustle of the middle of town. It's a 5-10 minute downhill walk to all the bars and restaurants a bit longer to the harbour. The older hotel has many charms including the very friendly staff. Breakfast is outstanding. Warm freshly baked brownie in the afternoon if you return. A very personal experience similar to an old fashion B&B.
Everything was great.

It was a very home-like stay. I could not have asked for a better hotel. We were there for 4 days, 3 nights. The staff were super nice, a BIG shoutout to Malin for taking care of me and my partner Dan. It’s a shame she was on her day off when we checked out but made sure I told the owner and one of the staff to thank her massively for me and how she has gone above and beyond. It was such a nice stay (and Bergen’s just beautiful), we’re already planning our next trip! Also, oh my god, the brownies are best of the best things in this hotel. We’ve lost count how many we had!
