The KJH is in the very middle of Oslo's VERY busy city center. Everything you'll want to access is either walkable or easy to get to by bus or train from the KJH. The hotel is grand, and while it exudes elegance, it's approachable without being overly fussy. Our small, comfortable room was quiet, considering the hustle and bustle of everything going on in the town center. KJH serves a nice breakfast, though there was a bit of frustration with our early departure on our second morning. Apparently, we asked for a breakfast-to-go too late for the kitchen to accommodate; however, two separate front desk staff assured me we'd be taken care of the next morning. Lo and behold, there was nothing ready for us when we left in the early morning for the airport. It wasn't a big deal, but we definitely could have prepared far better had we first been forewarned at check-in or later if we'd been told the kitchen was unable to accommodate our late request. That whole incident was poorly handled by multiple levels of staff and needs better customer service attention so KJH's future guests don't have the same hassle and frustration. Other than that little mishap, the KJH staff was really, really great. I will recommend the KJH to any of my friends and family traveling to Oslo. I'd also like to make a shout-out to a restaurant where we ended up eating four times over two days because it was just so delicious: Spor Av Nord at Tollbugata 7B, Oslo 0152 +47 973 44 010. It's off the beaten path, on the way to the Opera House. We ended up trying nearly everything on their menu. Every dish was a delight!

Very nice City hotel with excellent breakfast menu. Lots of shops and restaurants in close proximity. Modern furnitures, renovated bathrooms.

There was nothing to complain.

This hotel is located in the heart of Oslo. It has a fantastic location and a building that exudes tradition. While I wished for more variety in the breakfast menu, I was thoroughly satisfied with the taste. The rooms are clean, and the mattress and pillows are comfortable.

The interior of the hotel is like a maze, and depending on the room, you might struggle to find your way alone. Yet, the friendly staff, who guide you with smiles, make this not a significant issue. I wanted to welcome the morning along with the sunrise, so it was a bit disappointing that the windows of the room faced the wall.

Fantastic location, super comfy bed for my taste at least (very soft), staff were always very helpful when I had any queries. Breakfast each morning was excellent - great quality and selection across the board. My only concerns about staying here were that it was so central and in a busy location in Oslo that I feared it would be quite noisy but I didn't hear a thing, though I was situated on the 5th floor and towards the back of the building so can't speak for all rooms. Overall, I couldn't really of asked for more, superb value.

Genuinely don't have anything significant to put here. The only thing I could think of was that the wardrobe didn't have many hangers, but I'm sure I could have asked for more. I didn't because it really didn't bother me. The fact that's all I can think of should tell you how highly I rated the experience here.

The hotel was in a perfect location for walking to all the sights, harbour, railway station and restaurants. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fabulous.

We had a family room which we thought would be reasonably large. However it was narrow with only a small window at the end of the room so was permanently dark and the light had to be on even though the sun was shining outside. There was very little space for our clothes - just one very small cupboard and one small shelf. It was not really enough for two peple for three nights and would have been impossible for any longer. There was no fridge in the room, probably because there was no space for one.

Breakfast was great! Well equipped. Location is perfect for going everywhere. It is at walking distance from the train station (About 15 mins medium pace) In addition, the underground train is quite near. Sound proof was great; that I was in shock because we were in a location that if windows or door open, you can hear noises. The room was silence.

Room was smaller than expected. The Suitcase were really blocking However, we were there for 2 nights and it fit on what we needed. I would suggest thinking on people with 2 big suitcases and the way the closet was set. I would go back again, just mentioning what we ran into it due to the size of the room.

The location is excellent for a two-days/three-nights stay in Oslo. It's right in city center and we traveled to the hotel from the Oslo airport into the Oslo S station. However, we realized that you can instead go to the National Theatre train station instead of Oslo S for a shorter walk to the hotel! It was easy to get to the waterfront from here as well. The breakfast was excellent! It was a large spread with a lot of options and the fresh fruit was excellent.

The layout of the hotel can be a little confusing at first, especially when we were first getting into our room. However, that was mostly because we reserved the courtyard-facing room, so getting to the room was a little bit longer than usual. Still, it was worth it to get a quieter night's sleep.

Fabulous location and breakfast! Super comfy bed with blackout curtains made for great sleeping. Plenty of room for luggage plus a desk area. Our quiet courtyard room (343) was a bigger than others across the hall but no view if you need one. We sat on the lounge balcony for a drink overlooking Karl Johan gate on a beautiful summer night which was sublime. Overall a great stay and value!

Getting to our room was a bit of a maze (had to take 2 elevators and walk through breakfast room) but worth it for the quiet location. Wifi was a little weak and gym was way down in the basement but we were not there to work out. :-)

Great location. Historical building but very well kept. Close enough to walk to the station (through the park across the road) to get the train to and from the airport and other parts of Oslo (although cobblestones and suitcase wheels are not the best match). Transport via tram is very close - only a few stops to the Opera House and Munch Museum. Plenty of restaurants around there, also theatres, parks, close to the king's palace and other historical buildings. Espresso machine had 3 capsules which is relatively generous compared to other hotels. Bathroom small but perfectly adequate and the shower was surprisingly roomy. Breakfast buffet was very good, and because I was leaving at 5am (before the restaurant opened) for my last day the hotel gave me a "breakfast bag" with lots of fruit, bread, yoghurt, etc).

Some rooms require a compass and hiking boots to get to - the building is like a maze. To get to my room without encountering 2 sets of stairs while dragging my suitcase required walking through the breakfast room to find another elevator going to the back of the building. Another guest who kindly helped lift my suitcases up the 2nd set of stairs told me about going through the breakfast room.. The rooms requiring this diversion had room numbers with the last 2 numbers over 30 and I believe were designated as "quiet".

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to transportation and restaurants. The breakfast is very good and I particularly enjoyed the pancakes. There should be another coffee machine as one for the entire room results in too long waiting times to get coffee. The bdroom is small and it did not have a refrigerator that I had been led to expect but we were there for 3 busy days so I did not bother asking for it. We were on the top floor which had a nice view over the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. Thank you.

There could be anther coffee machine in the breakfast room as one machine results in too long waiting lines for coffee. I had asked for a room with the refrigerator and there was none in our room but since we were there for only 3 busy days I did not ask for one when I saw none in the room. These are minor criticisms as otherwise we had a very nice stay.
