Very good value in a great location. Works well for a short stay at an economical rate. Loved the self-service pancakes in the early afternoon.

No towels in the room - a genuine housekeeping error (but I only realised when I came out of the shower!). It would've been OK, but when I asked at the front desk (having had to wait to naturally dry off before going downstairs!) I was told the towels would be delivered...but I had to ask again (by getting dressed and going downstairs again before my shower) the next morning. Was then asked if I wanted the towels put in room or if I wanted to collect later from the front desk. It just all felt a bit lazy. Small thing, but it did irritate.

Great location, close to shops&supermarkets, bus stations, the port, etc Although I stayed in a single room, the bed was comfy and had enough space to move around (but I only carried a backpack, if you have bigger luggages it might be an issue). It was quiet during my stay. Also coffee/tea is always available at the reception desk. The staff is welcoming and nice.

The room ventilation can’t be turned off. It keeps blowing cold air inside the room and it also makes a lot of noise. However, I discussed with the hotel staff and was allowed to cover the vent. The temperature inside the mini-fridge was only slighty colder than room temperature.

For the days I stayed in Tromsø, it was the hotel with the lowest price/quality option in the city centre as far as I remember. Everything was good despite the hotel being a low-cost property. The hotel's location is decent: it's on a high street of the Tromsøya Island and almost all landmarks of the city are within walking distance from the hotel. If you really feel tired of walking, it's easy to use public transport, and the hotel is already very close to downtown and there are some bus stops nearby. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. They serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and hot water for free at the reception as well, thus I didn't need to have a kettle tray set with coffee/tea in my room. I would like to thank the receptionists on my last day for keeping my luggage till the evening as well. It's a very smooth process to book a taxi from the hotel to the airport and the taxi quickly arrived. Breakfast was not included in my reservation, but they offered me to register for breakfast at one of the hotels around working under an agreement. I chose Enter Amalie Hotel and their breakfast was very good, especially their cake was notably delicious. My room and its bathroom were clean enough. Owing to the fully opened window and Tromsø's weather which was still remarkably cool in July I could have decent air conditioning in the room. My bed was comfortable. The soap and shower gel in the bathroom were of satisfactory quality. Last but not least, the wireless Internet connection was good.

I don't have any major negative feedback about the hotel in my mind. The housekeeper lady didn't make up my room, perhaps I was expected to particularly request it. Nevertheless I didn't make a fuss over it at all since I stayed in the hotel just for 2 nights and I was out during the day. Furthermore, it could have been better if you had put one more towel in the bathroom.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Also loved the waffles in the evening. Beds were comfy and warm. We slept very well. Would have been better if we had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Room was very basic but we understand that space is at a premium and that Norway is expensive to us. I paid a small fortune to stay here and agonised a lot over where to stay. This was ultimately a good choice.

The bookings.com entry stated tea and coffee facilities in the room and although we could go down to reception at any time day or night to get a drink it wasn’t the same.

The bed was super comfortable, the room was warm and clean and there was also a cleaning service ever day. Unlimited hot water for bath, 24/7 reception ready to help you in anything you need, free coffee and tea and of course free waffles every evening. Last but not least, great location to explore everything by feet.

The view of the window was a simple backyard or something like that. And one of the lights of the room didn't work.

Staff was SUPER NICE and helpful! Gym = awesome, even if the card for the gym stopped working, they gave you directions for another location and you could workout there. Coffee, tea and cookies all day long! BEST! WAFFLES! I'VE! EVER! HAD!!! Everything is close to the hotel and if you are lucky you can see northern lights, which is a bonus. :)

Mattresse was way too soft for my liking. On Saturday you could hear everything going on from the street. (maybe some noise cancelation for the window?) They could figure out breakfast somehow, instead ordering it for 180 NOK, I personally didn't order it, but considering this is hotel I would try to find a way how to give clients breakfast, even if you had to walk to another hotel, Tromso is not that big.

The location was great just up from the port and close to the shops. Room was a good size and the bed really comfy. The fridge was very useful. Staff were friendly and I really appreciated the free waffles on an evening. Really good price for a room in central Tromso wish everywhere in Norway was this reasonable.

Everything was great - would return again

In the lobby there was free coffee/tee and chocolate-cookies. From 5-7pm you could make your own waffles - waffle iron, dough, cheese and jam/marmalade were supplied. There is a small fridge in the room. Nice View over the city (we had a room on the 4th floor).

The bowl with dough for waffles was empty half an hour before 7 but not refilled. Parking space at the hotel was available but quite expensive. There is no table in the room.

Close to the center, flat is small but with all the necessary things. Tea and coffee always available at the reception, free waffle at 17-19 which is very nice. Parking available, a bit expensive but in line with the prices of the city.

Bed is a bit small, and flat is at level -1 w/o lift so getting there with the luggage wasn't that easy

The Enter Viking is a quaint little place on a quiet side street in downtown Tromsø. It’s not elaborate and from the outside it doesn’t look like much, but inside it’s neat, clean, and welcoming. The staff was exceptional.

There’s really nothing not to like. It’s not a fancy 5star hotel with a big lobby, a restaurant, and busy people. If that’s what you want this isn’t your place.
